Brilliant interview! Many many years ago, I lived in a Sydney harbourside suburb called East Balmain where a old building we called "Cockroach Manor" was being renovated by unknown persons. So, my best mate and I are playing pool at the local pub. It was a Tuesday night I think? Very quiet anyways. This pub also had an awesome chinese restaurant. I'd hate a few joints by then... "Me name is Malcolm and dis is me bruvva Angus...we play in a band called AC/DC you may have heard of?" with a shit eating grin. They had bought the manor! We walked home at about 12 midnight singing "Its a long way to shop if you wanna sausage roll." True story!
Ha ha ha ha ha! I LOVE THIS STORY MAN! 😂 That is just so so so great. I would have LOVED to be there. Very very bad at playing pool though - but just watching your guys would be a kicker for me ❤️
@@TinyTV_DK What REALLY blew my mind was that the barman had to make pots of tea for them!! He had to go into the chinese restaurant and use tea bags that were probably 20 years old, but, still tasted good as that's all they drank.
@Graham Stewart The pub was called The Commercial. On Darling St, but, way down the other end towards Sydney Harbour. Sorry, don't know about The Rocks pub? The only "The rocks" I know are inner Sydney city suburb that's at the sthn end of the Harbour Bridge. You should've stayed...or come back? We need more Paddies!!
@@robbieh1899 Robbie that's fantastic, I've been to The Rocks area a few times when across in Oz. I was at a Mama's Boys (check them out) gig at The Milford Inn, Co Donegal, Ireland many many years ago. I was there early with my mate and the band had all set up. We were playing pool when John McManus (bass & vocals) came over and put some money down to play the winner. I looked up "hello John", I looked around and Pat (guitar supremo & violin + Ozzy and Coverdale tried to recruit him) was standing there "hello Pat, do you lads want to play doubles?" "Yeah sure". IWe shared a few round of drinks in and had great craic for over an hour. Funny thing is, the place really filled up but nobody twigged who they were as we were all about the same age except for wee Tommy. Lovely guys and a great band. I think band members like breaking the monotany spending time with some non-sycophantic fans. Tommy McManus (drums) RIP. I must go and see Pat the next time he's in Scotland, great musician.
This is probably the best interview with Angus I’ve ever seen. Such a down to earth and humble man, and you are a great interviewer. Your questions were respectful and spot on, and you got Angus to open up. Well done, sir.
YES! Such a Gent indeed. And very inspiring too. Very happy to hear, that you picked up the guitar because of him. Inspires me to do more interviews like this 🙏🏻
This interview proves that over all these years AC⚡DC was always about the music and family. Unlike 95% of bands more worried about radio friendly hits and how much make up to put on. I respect Angus more than any other rock star bc he didn't let the ton of fame and $ he's earned define him instead he chose to be defined by his work ethic and dedication. That alone will precede this great guitarist and even greater man forever.
I really hope angus brian and all the rest of acdc live on for another 3 decades or more I dont want them to die i cant imagine life without acdc i really cant
„I'm gonna impress him, I'm gonna play for him“ , that's one the most honest and beautiful quotes I've ever heard...and he's right, I'm 17 and AC/DC is a band which is giving me a „spirit“ in my life... I've even started playing guitar because of them...
Yeah, that was such a great moment! And boy, have I felt like that a lot of times in my childhood? Oooh yes! From Danish rockbands, to Aerosmith, Kurt Cobain and David Bowie. I wanted to look like them all! 🤓🙈🥳
A rock star without airs and graces, honest, down-to-earth and an absolute family man. I think not only his family but also his band colleagues mean a lot to him. The interview is just great.
Thank you for this my friend. Im 58, married to the girl I took to see Back in black, 4 kids, 7 grandkids later still absolutely love the band and especially Angus and Malcom just for being Angus and Malcom, working class rock stars. Great interview, again than you.
Thank you SO much Matthew. I always try to do “no bullshit interviews”. Sometimes it works, somtines i don’t. So I’m very pleased that you enjoyed this interview so much ❤️🙏🏻
What an absolute great guy he is no bullshit about him don't take it for granted so so down to earth aswell and like Brian a great sense of humour ( Malcolm was to god rest his soul ) and of course an amazing guitar player. would like nothing more than to shake him by the hand and just say I'll be forverr greatful for the impact he's had on my life and thanks for all the many years of amazing amazing music We love you angus
Bruh I'm 17 years old and I love rock and roll and Angus young is one of my most favorite guitarists because he is talented but also really nice and down to earth and you are lucky to be able to interview him.
I have to agree with so many people here. One of THE BEST interviews I've ever seen with Angus! Great questions! Angus was engaged (and probably not bored answering the same questions over and over again about his school uniform and how they came up with the name of the band Blah, Blah, Blah) I learned more things about my favorite guitar player. Thank you and keep up the good work!!!
Thank you SO much Don Manning! It’s almost overwhelming to see all you good AC⚡️DC fans liking the interview so much. Makes me want to do more, more and more. It was never my intention to launch an English-speaking RUclips channel, but with upcoming interviews with The Strokes and Foo Fighters, I see where this is heading... Thank you for all the many many comments and the wonderful response 🙏🏻✊🏻💪🏻👊🏻❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for eternity to have Angus sit and talk to us for a little while. It means much to me. This is a real treasure. I have a JCM800 behind me, too.
This has probably become my favourite Angus interview! You are a great interviewer :D I loved that part when he mentioned that Malcolm bought his first amplifier and told the customer his little brother was a better guitarist than him ♥ the way Angus talks about his brother melts my heart everytime!
Wow Harinezumi. Thank you SO much for the kind words. I am very very glad that you like the interview 😃 And yeah, the part about his first guitar amp and his first guitar are some of my favorite parts as well 😍🎸
Just think. In the last few years all band members have been replaced at least once except for Angus. In my opinion, he's just what makes ACDC great. If one day he dies I will never enjoy the songs again as I do now because he cannot be replaced. He's the most important thing in the band and without him we can't go on. Good luck in your life Angus. We love you.
I am sitting here besides my guitar that is signed by Angus ...Absolutely thrilled a new album...the best Rock and Roll 🎸 band ever....and that ever will be...hands down...these guys are just supernatural talented..outta this world.
Mate! Thank you so much for watching and for sharing your story. Happy to hear that a die-hard fan like you, is thrilled about the new album. Always great to see when fans support their bands :-D
Thank you SO much Brian. Your comment made my morning here in Copenhagen, Denmark 🤩 Very happy that I have been able to do a personal interview with Angus 🙏🏻
I am from Mississippi , and I am a huge AC/DC fan , I love the fact that angus has never got caught up in the rock and roll bs that destroys bands, the biggest part of that is because he lives in Australia and just comes to the US and kicks ass and goes back home ! He seems like a humble guy that should have a huge ego but he doesn’t. Nobody plays like him , and to me he his a top five guitarist ever , and me personally he is # 1. I took my son to a show in 2016 in Dallas and I told him afterwards, now you have seen a true rock and roll band .
So true, funny what you said about your son." Celebrity" status in Australia is very different to the US. We don't care! Hence why a lot of "celebrities" from here usually do not have egos. Not all, however a lot don't !
Great interview. Thanks a million Anders for not interrupting him. 99.5 procent of all interviewers could learn a lot from that. Wish you would have asked him how much he actually plays while not being on tour and recording. Once again, you did a fantastic job, Anders.
Thank you SO much Roland. I always like to give people the time to say, what the have on their minds and in their hearts. Especially if it is a person I have never met before AND if it is an online interview. So I’m very happy that you noticed this and appreciate it! 🙏🏻❤️
Also thought of this which ALL interviewers do, even all the ”uh huh, okay, interesting, oh” etc etc so annoying! Great job Anders letting the guy speak his stories without the slightest interuption 🙏🏼
Anders, please dont ever grow a big head, and keep it down to earth like now..... this is by far the best and most respectfull interview with a rock legend i have ever seen..... good job, and thumbs up
Thank you very very much mate. I hope to see Tiny TV grow and expand in the future. But I will always keep my myself and my interviews in this style 🙏🏻 Hope to see you here on this channel in the future as well 🤩
Saw them open for Kiss, 12/12/77 Just a stage, red, green, blue, yellow lights, and a white light going back and forth across the stage, trying to keep up with Angus 😂 . It was 3 days before my 13th birthday! And Bon carried Angus on his shoulders through the audience it was thrilling!!! Kiss was good too 😂
Love the man. Simplicity. Plays guitar with no effects. Just Marshall tones. Wears a plain white t shirt. I have tons of respect for him. AC/DC recorded the best rock albums in the world. Thank you, Angus. You have added so much to my life.
I'm a Dane living Down Under and I must say I really enjoyed your interview. You did a fantastic job asking good questions and allowing the artist to speak without constant interruptions like so many other interviewers do. And I liked the diversity in your questions and how they were not the usual questions I'm sure Angus gets all the time. Very original and entertaining. Tusind tak!
Well thank you SO much Henrik. Really appreciate to have a fellow countryman like what I do here on this channel. I just made a 5 1/2 hour AC/DC podcast with excerpts from this interview and many other great things. You can find the podcast here: www.dr.dk/sort
I remember back in the 90's when Thunderstruck was released. Here in Australia when it got played at a nightclub, we would rush onto the dance floor and instead of singing "Thunderstruck" we would sing "You've been finger F***ed!"
Hello. My name is Tara I am in the deep So. Georgia. USA... He (Mr. Angus) is mind boggling! He is so laid back and down to earth. [[[I understand that he and his family have said "See you on the other side" to family members and I would love to say... .... there are no words. My thoughts and soul go out to the whole family... ]] I had the privilege of seeing AC/DC in KEY ARENA, SEATTLE WA. 1996/97 ?!?! TO THIS DAY it WAS THE BEST CONCERT I have ever seen... FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK those cannons WHOAAAAA !!! "21 GUN salute"... I would say Mr. Angus? THERE WILL EVER ONLY BE one you! Thank you for the AMERICAN FLAG... boxers!! THANK YOU! FOR NEVER being ANY LESS THAN WHAT [[Mr. Malcolm and Mr. George and You and the Mr Brian and the rest TECH guys and ROADIES included....]] YOU. ARE. it really is a long road to the top... OHHHH. MR. ANGUS? from the bottom of my soul... THANK YOU FOR NEVER DOING drugs!!!
Im very glad AC/DC is still producing great rock n roll, defying the odds, not letting anything or anyone stop them, showing it can still be done. very amazing
Great interview. That bit about Hendrix was amazing. To imagine Angus as a little boy listening to Purple Haze for the first time at 2 AM in his bedroom with all the excitement he felt. This was a simple and powerful moment at the same time that probably boosted his love for rock and specially for the guitar. And congratz to Anders for letting Angus speak with his heart without interrupting but also being on poin with comments and musical knowledge. Keep rockin dude!
Thank you SO SO SO much Julio. Really appreciate you taking the time to comment. I shall keep on rocking and hopefully do more interviews like this in the future 🤞🏻😎
Being a fan and a musician since the 70's I appreciate this interview. My older Brother all passed a couple of years ago. It's something you can never forget. You grew up with them. I met Angus very early on working in a theatre in Wheeling WV. I also worked a couple of their shows later on in other cities. I recall a production manager named Jake and he was a great guy. He would see us if we were in town for a call and grab us and put us on a crew where he knew he would do best.
I would like an interview where Angus talks about his SGs, the ones you know and the guitars he has at home! What he owns and loves that doesn't say SG!
Great interview! PWR⚡️UP came 3/4h ago when I'm writing this. I just couldn't sleep all night long, because you know, premiere in pl was at night. I also got favorite song from it😄 - "Kick You When You're Down", but just for me.
Mine is through the mist of time its absolutely awesome very very special song I really hope they release it as a single get the song to number one it's so different but acdc at the same time
Angus is 1 top notch guy i can listen to him all day long.i had the privilege of seeing AC/DC back in 1991 The Razor Edge tour at the metro center in Rockford IL.The most bad ass concert i ever been to..RIP Malcom Young nothing but ❤
Probably one of the best interviews I've watched, questions fan based and personal without looking to get a headline in the next days newspaper. Genuine, honest and sincere. Angus seemed happy to share details without pushy questions, unlike some media channels. Thank you :-)
Thank you SO very very much for this comment. REALLY made me happy because you mention all the things, that are important to me in my interviews: NEVER to chase a headline and always try to be as genuine and honest as possible. Glad you enjoyed it. 🙏🏻
It was a treat to watch this interview. Nice to see you back home in Sydney, Angus. All these years of stardom and you're still not a wanker. We love you.
Flick Of The Switch is VERY underrated record.... maybe my favorite. Fly On The Wall is a good one as well. Then there is For Those About To Rock.... looking forward to Power Up.
Yeah man! "For those about to rock" was reallt one of my teen favorites. There was so much "identity" in those words. And coming from the rural/countryside part of Denmark, where not so many kids listened to rock music, it was so so so important when you once in a while met some other kid that just KNEW what it meant to be "those about to rock" :-D
I've never understood why Flick of the Switch ends up near the bottom of every "ACDC Albums Rated" list. For me, anyway, every song is full of energy, and not a bad song on the album. Oh well, to each his own.
The humblest of all humble people! And what a legendary guitarist! He has no need to show off. Why should he? He's one of the greatest in the whole rock circus. Very impressive! Thanks for this interview!
This is great ❤ "cant stand still" is one of the best acdc underrated songs...off the new cd checkout "kick ya when your down" so good 🖤 Aungus never used pedals he's a guitar monster
I've watched a ton of Classic Rock interviews/documentaries in my lifetime and this has to be one of the very best one-on-ones I've ever seen! Great job!!
Great interview, Anders! You obviously did your homework and asked some good, interesting questions. Angus obviously felt comfortable with you and trusted you, so, as a result, you got one of the better interviews with Angus that I've seen! Kudos to you!
Great interview! Angus is such a down to Earth chap. I can just imagine having a cuppa with him and jamming. He's still one of my favourite and most expressive guitarists of all time. Looking forward to seeing them live again. It's been about 30 years since I last saw them. Go AC/DC!
Well, thank you very much for that sweet comment Randy 🙏🏻 I’m a Danish radio- and podcast host, working for The Danish Broadcasting Corporation (15 years and counting) and other media outlets 🤩 My RUclips channel is quite new though, so I really appreciate that you like the Angus content 🙏🏻❤️ All best from Anders, Tiny TV, Copenhagen.
When a person puts there heart and soul into a song it shows , these guys are the purest form of rock there ever was and ever will be ........ive wrote a few songs and I know what it takes, Heart ❤ ♥.........
This was one of the best interviews of Angus I've ever seen. Great job! I first saw them live when I was in high school in Los Angeles in 1977 at the Whiskey a Go Go, and have since seen them over 20 times, five times when Bon Scott was still alive.
What a great interview, I think the way Angus pauses a lot when he talks it's so easy for an interviewer to interrupt him but he doesn't and allows Angus the time to elaborate.
A great interview. Great questions. Interesting answers. Burwood rules! Angus, mate, always have long term goals as your years advance. Long term goals keep you going and won't allow you to ever quit. who knows long term goals may even extend your life.
I've been looking for a while for something to give me a notion of Angus Young , the person. And this is perfect. What a lovely man. No airs or graces. He seemed even a little shy to be mentioning Macca! And what keeps him going? The first excitement at hearing Jimi Hendrix and to try to give something of the sort to the kids of today.,that was given to him way back. A real gent.
Man oh man I loved this interview. It really made my day. Thank yoU! I remember attending their Indianapolis concert during the Ballbreaker tour March 7, 1996. Hands down THE loudest rock show ever. Had to have been > 140dB.
Great interview!! You asked great questions, and not interrupting like some interviewers do, letting Angus finish what he started talking about. I've heard and read lots of what Angus talked about in the interview, but lots of things I've not heard as well. I've heard a couple of songs off the new album, waiting to get the album to listen to them all at once. No doubt, it's AC/DC sound.
Thank you SO much Dale! 😃👍 Really means a lot. Especially that you noticed that I let Angus finish his sentences. That was very important to me (and also a bit difficult, as the video stream sometimes had delays and various technical bumps). So I'm happy for your words ❤️
The thing about Angus Young is, he is not full of himself. Great interview.

@@robbieh1899 Brilliant! 😂🤩🤘🏻
Angus' personality reminds me of his music: straight forward and unassuming.
Man, this guy really loved his brother.
This is probably the best interview with Angus I’ve ever seen. Such a down to earth and humble man, and you are a great interviewer. Your questions were respectful and spot on, and you got Angus to open up. Well done, sir.
Thank you very very much Trey. It really does mean a lot that the true AC/DC fans appreciate this interview so much 🙏🏻 Makes me VERY happy 🥳✌🏻
Agree totally!!!
The reason I picked up a guitar is because of this man and I'm sure many, many others! I owe him so much. What a gent! Long live AC/DC! ⚡🤘
YES! Such a Gent indeed. And very inspiring too. Very happy to hear, that you picked up the guitar because of him. Inspires me to do more interviews like this 🙏🏻
Me too... My musical inspiration
Me too and they inspire millions of musicians
I've often felt that Malcolm was the anchor for the band, and now it's even stronger.
I Saw AC/DC Houston Texas !980 badass show. They Rocked
Angus said Australia properly, Straya!! True Aussie no matter how world famous he is, still sounding Aussie, onya mate!!
Awesome! If you did not know it, you would not think that this frail old man is the hardest rocking guy, ever! Forever Angus Young🤘🎸👏
Here Here Wise One. They call my son lil Angus by the way.
He is far from frail and old, Angus has always been like this, even in his very younger yrs, just very well raised and a shy guy.
I really hope angus brian and all the rest of acdc live on for another 3 decades or more I dont want them to die i cant imagine life without acdc i really cant
@@lisascarrott6142 they have a lot of yrs left in them yet, providing health is kind
For such a famous guitarist so humble and how much love he has for his brother malcom, the best rock band
„I'm gonna impress him, I'm gonna play for him“ , that's one the most honest and beautiful quotes I've ever heard...and he's right, I'm 17 and
AC/DC is a band which is giving me a „spirit“ in my life...
I've even started playing guitar because of them...
"Wow ! I wanna look that cool" : Oh I really love this !!!! So great to hear Angus talk about his "first meeting" with Jimi Hendrix !!!
Yeah, that was such a great moment! And boy, have I felt like that a lot of times in my childhood? Oooh yes! From Danish rockbands, to Aerosmith, Kurt Cobain and David Bowie. I wanted to look like them all! 🤓🙈🥳
@@TinyTV_DK I'm a Jimi Hendrix fanatic and I never heard Angus about Jimi. Hey man, you really made my day !
Mange tak Anders !
It's fascinating the lovely way he talks about his brother Malcolm
Great interview, straight up gold, no bullshit. This is how interviews should be.
Thank you SO much Matthew. I always try to do “no bullshit interviews”. Sometimes it works, somtines i don’t. So I’m very pleased that you enjoyed this interview so much ❤️🙏🏻
What an absolute great guy he is no bullshit about him don't take it for granted so so down to earth aswell and like Brian a great sense of humour ( Malcolm was to god rest his soul ) and of course an amazing guitar player. would like nothing more than to shake him by the hand and just say I'll be forverr greatful for the impact he's had on my life and thanks for all the many years of amazing amazing music
We love you angus
Bruh I'm 17 years old and I love rock and roll and Angus young is one of my most favorite guitarists because he is talented but also really nice and down to earth and you are lucky to be able to interview him.
One of the best interviews with Angus I have ever seen. It‘s always refreshing when an interviewer lets his guest talk.
I really really REALLY appreciate that you like it. Thanks a lot for watching and thanks a bunch for commenting ❤️🙏🏻
you can just feel the love between all the guys in AC/DC.
That's got to be the best solo Angus interview ever. Good job man!
Wow! Thanks a lot Jake. Really appreciate that comment :-D
If you want another great one, check out the Dean Delray interview.
@@onpsxmember Thanks! I’ll check that one out for sure 🙏🏻🤓🤩
You did a really good job interviewing! Hands down the best interview i have ever seen of Angus.
Keep up the good work!
@@jmsparks324 Thank you so much Jon. I’ll do my best with upcoming interviews with The Strokes, Foo Fighters and others 🎸😎🙏🏻
Impossible not to absolutely love and admire this guy
Angus Young and Ace Frehley were the reasons I started playing guitar 30 years ago. Still playing, still listening to AC/DC and KISS.
Such a humble and down to earth person, a true Rock n Roll hero. Long live AC/DC.
Angus has turned me into a tea drinker.
Haha, now that's something he surely isn't credited for all too often. :-D
Same here-haha!
Gotta love Angus. He’s genuine as they come.
Thank you for eternity to have Angus sit and talk to us for a little while. It means much to me. This is a real treasure. I have a JCM800 behind me, too.
In the old days I never seen many interviews that gave much insight in their past or writing process. I’m loving these more recent interviews.
This has probably become my favourite Angus interview! You are a great interviewer :D
I loved that part when he mentioned that Malcolm bought his first amplifier and told the customer his little brother was a better guitarist than him ♥ the way Angus talks about his brother melts my heart everytime!
Wow Harinezumi. Thank you SO much for the kind words. I am very very glad that you like the interview 😃 And yeah, the part about his first guitar amp and his first guitar are some of my favorite parts as well 😍🎸
Angus Young : cooler than the other side of the pillow 🤘😎
Rest In Peace Malcom . We miss you and your genius. Angus is the real deal for sure.
Honestly the best interview - hes never opened up soo much - only because he asked all the right questions and the right way
Thank you SO much Brian.
Rip Malcolm!! My idle !!
@@cykelslang9892 Thank you very for much for that comment. Really makes me happy that my “decision to shut up” payed off 🤩🙏🏻

Saw them open for Kiss,
12/12/77
Just a stage, red, green, blue, yellow lights, and a white light going back and forth across the stage, trying to keep up with Angus 😂 .
😂😂😂👍🏻 Sounds just about right, to what I would have done myself in my teens if my English had been a bit better back then 😎🤘🏻

Angus is a magical human. Powered by a sheer love for rock and roll.
I think I could sit and talk with Angus for hours. What a great guy he seems.
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful story and these important thoughts. Really means a lot to me that you like the interview ❤️🙏🏻
One reason I think we all love this band, alongside the incredible music, is their fun and good natured demeanor. Legend⚡
What a great guy Angus is. My guitar hero!
It’s crazy how down to earth and humble he is with as hard as he rocks on stage and how many badass albums his band has put out. Awesome interview.
Angus Young is really down to earth and a hell of a performer
I would like an interview where Angus talks about his SGs, the ones you know and the guitars he has at home! What he owns and loves that doesn't say SG!
Great interview! PWR⚡️UP came 3/4h ago when I'm writing this. I just couldn't sleep all night long, because you know, premiere in pl was at night. I also got favorite song from it😄 - "Kick You When You're Down", but just for me.

L♡ve how Angus is a humble man. My 1st concert ever was at age 13 AC/DC Day On The Green. That was the day I was hooked on AC/DC.
The most professional band I ever saw
Remember driving around drinking beer on the backroads as teenagers listening to AC/DC. Lucky to have survived our teenage years. Haha
Great interview - not often you see AY as relaxed and chatty as this when being interviewed. Usually squirming with a cigarette burning. Nice one

@disc_oidal Could not have said it better myself. Good to know that great minds think alike.
I've never understood why Flick of the Switch ends up near the bottom of every "ACDC Albums Rated" list. For me, anyway, every song is full of energy, and not a bad song on the album. Oh well, to each his own.

What a great interview, I think the way Angus pauses a lot when he talks it's so easy for an interviewer to interrupt him but he doesn't and allows Angus the time to elaborate.
A great interview. Great questions. Interesting answers. Burwood rules!
