I love how you can hear the percussion of his right hand through this whole thing. It barely ever stops moving. There's a reason he always preferred to stand right next to the drums.
That’s not a clean tone, that’s a mild overdrive. If anything it’s just the fact that he only had one pick up in his guitar that was for the bridge pickup and he just plugged straight into the amp.
Mal was AC/DC's secret for a lot of years until everyone figured out that he was the true driving force behind the sound. Even Angus has said that on multiple occasions.
Saw DC live three times...1995, 1999 and 2008. During the 1999 Stiff Upper Lip tour I was lucky to be at the front of the mosh pit. I spent pretty much the whole show holding on to the rail to keep my play and was just watching Malcolm the whole time. It was phenomenal. Got to the encore and I made the choice to let go of the rail, and was promptly swept away into the crowd 🤣🤣🤣
Malcolm Young!!! Never got to see him play live but what a treat it would have been!! What a great rhythm guitar force that man was!!! R.I.P Malcolm young!!
It's what I listened to, tried to emulate in my playing when I started playing as a teen. So many great songs that are easy to get started on. If only I had youtube back then.
Thank you for doing this! Are you planning on doing the entire album? I subscribed after Shoot To Thrill...so many more songs to go. This is awesome!! Malcolm was the greatest rhythm guitarist of all time.
There’s a vid out there of Angus talking about how Malcolm always had a pile of dust around him from all the shredded picks. Stevie plays the same way, and has to replace the picks regularly during every show
It's not easy to keep a guitar in tune for that long when it's taking a beating like that. There's some good tech work along with guitar playing in that recording.
Fantastic example of oriiginality..in other words it just came to him naturally and thats why no one else can do it...Anyone else doing it is just copying, can never be as good.
I could just listen Macolm's isolated part all day, driving in my car, going nowhere
I respect the talent of every member, but it's always been that sweet rhythm line.
Malcolm.
100%
Yes 👍
Amen
Angus is the icing, Malcolm was the cake.
Mal was the driving force behind the ACDC Rock machine. These isolated tracks prove how accurate he was and such a great chimey sound
I love how you can hear the percussion of his right hand through this whole thing. It barely ever stops moving. There's a reason he always preferred to stand right next to the drums.
Only Malcolm Young could make a cleaner tone sound so heavy
That’s not a clean tone, that’s a mild overdrive. If anything it’s just the fact that he only had one pick up in his guitar that was for the bridge pickup and he just plugged straight into the amp.
There will never be another like Mal. Fucking unbelievable player.
That tone is so DAMN GOOD
His control over those strings is just mindblowing.
i love Mal's sound on The Razor's Edge tour, it has so much balls to it!!!
My favorite sounds from him are 1978 Live 1991 1999-2003 stiff upper lip tour those are my favorite tones by him
yeah i agree angus's sound is geat
That sound is awesome, not so clean like his ,,normal'' tone. More aggressive. He played or made simple riffs so difficult.
The Mesa Boogie amps?
I don't think he used Mesa Boogie amps, only Mesa cabs
Mal was AC/DC's secret for a lot of years until everyone figured out that he was the true driving force behind the sound. Even Angus has said that on multiple occasions.
Very true. I've heard Angus say it on occasion.
Malcolm was a very powerful player, R .I.P
The Rhythm of Rock'n Roll.

Honestly wish there was footage of just him playing. Honestly I’d give just about anything to witness him playing a full show

It's amazing how tight he sounds on this. It could easily be a studio take and yet it's live.

I remain in aw after all these years.✝️
Malcom is so tight Within the groove. I didn't realize that they played that fast live.
Shocking how clean and on time he is. He makes every sound ring out clearly. Serious right hand technique that most guitar players lack.
Its like a Swiss Watch. Precision, timing, rhythm. Its perfect
Great job! Please consider doing more in the future!
U nailed it again bro !!! good work

Great Stuff....so powerful.
THANK YOU
Insane how they all put their parts in it.
Would love to hear Stevie and Malcolm back to back in one video
And who the F downvoted? His strings?
All the dead picks in "plectrum Hell" maybe.
@@santoslhalper6116 hahahahaha😂😂😂😂😂😂😂killer.🖤🎸🖤
He uses acoustic strings
It was the pick he used, it almost didn't make it out of there alive. 😂
TIGHT and bad ass.
We need the razors edge isolated!
My god, it's so fast! I don't remember it like this.
He was a train.

Amazing!!!
Hey cool video, I always wondered if isolated tracks of Cliff or Malcolm singing exist, do you know if they do?
We need rhat
Yes, they exist for some tracks
@@haksul8468 Please give us a few! No isolated singing tracks of theirs have ever been posted, as far as I know.
How about Phil Rudd??
Man they are racing…. I hear the difference between Chris and Phil
The tone was better on the next 3 tours .. this recording always sounded a little off to me too much gain
