Ah, the Nu Trek excelsior 2, I thought you were referring to the Excelsior Refit. ^.-.^ But indeed, I much prefer the look of this ship to the far too common ‘sovereign lite” ship designs of current trek. This screams classic Starfleet, where-as the official newer ships look like they belong in a Dominion fleet…

Its a Revamped Excelsior with Ablative Armour, Phaser arrays instead of Banks (Likely Type 10 Phasers now)...Perfect Replacement for the Excelsior class :) This could be the next step to the Lakota...gets my vote
the ORIGINAL backstory is more interesting. Edmonton is a jeffries confing of leftover parts of the Lawerence Holland class (a shoutout to Bridge Commander's *director*!), a miranda config using these parts. the LHes weren't that sucessfull. note that all of these were a LOT weaker in KM form...MSR does balance correction for remastered (and the damn phasers were nearly invisible)
I agree the Edmonton is an interesting class and I too get Excelsior vibes from her. Sucks she was destroyed during the Dominion war though and the only one of her kind. Interesting how she was put together with hulls from different ships. I would say that the Nebula's shields were more weaker. I don't think the Edmonton's weapons were more powerful since they're from the same time frame. I could be wrong but it just seems like the Nebula's shields were a lot more weaker compared to the Edmonton. I also agree the Edmonton has some sort of ablative armor.
Interesting! In reality it does make you wonder how effective the Weapons Pod variant of the Nebula was in combat. I don't think the Nebula is as powerful as a Galaxy Class, even though they share a lot of similarities! 🖖

Hey Retro-Badger :) Just a heads up, these ship you try out, are neat and really cool, but keep in mind that players can go into the INI files of the ships in the game and edit the damage of the phaser, and torpedoes, as well as the range of them, just by changing a few numbers in those lines of code. You can also do the same for the strength of the shields, speed, and maneuver of the ship, and the strength of the hull. I do this all the time with my ships, by changing just a few number ratios (example a 1 to a 3), messing around with them for fun hehehe :) So keep in mind that some of these ships you are using, may very well be tweaked or modified by some one, who has gone into the INI file, and changed the base canon numbers for these areas.
I'd like to see you do that battle again but don't go for the sensors so early In the battle. I love the nubby but that nubby should destroy it without do that lol😅
While it clearly has better shielding, it really suffers from having such a low number of photons. I mean if it's not going to carry quantum's, they should at least have 2.5 times the amount of torpedoes that they had in their arsenal. That's just asking for all kinds of trouble. Of course the Miranda is slower, but I don't really know that the shields are necessarily that much weaker. Bishop however is much better at maneuvering.

Nebula took the entire load of photons, from the Edmonton, in the first battle. But, in the second battle, the Nebula was nearly finished with far fewer photons. How did the computer do it? 🖖
I've noticed a rocking ship on a couple of occasions, but it was the ship I was on. It was usually down to a damaged warp core? I've never experienced that with the Enemy AI ships though.🖖

The Edmonton looks like a really nice ship. It almost looks Regal in it's style. It definitely looks like it came from the golden era of Star fleet :)

I think a DW variant Nebula would walk all over the Edmonton. The pre-War Nebulas have some good firepower but only cruiser level shields.

Seems like if you aft shield is down, you ought consider showin another side of the ship to the enemy.

How do you find the quick battle mod. I find the AI sometimes cant find an attack vector and wobble their hull up and down? (Extreme difficulty)
