My cat passed away tonight (12/4/2019) this song reminds me so much of him. I been replaying it all night! You’ll be forever loved and missed! Rip Chofis 💙
Condoleances Alma. I do understand you. I was so sad when my old sweet cat passed away too, but think that they are always in our hearts :)
this song is very emotionally touching,my mother passed away last year July 24th 2019
I’m sorry for your lost 😪💙
So sorry, Alma... I know that feeling of an empty heart. It aches so deeply. There's no love like that of a pet. Blessings for your healing heart 🙏
Oh please, give me a break and get a life!
This woman is unreal! One of the greatest sopranos EVER on one hand and then a flawless jazz stylist on the other. I am so impressed with this lady! One of the greatest artists of all time....bar none.
You are so right!
It’ meso soprano i think
@@manusierra1846 No, she's a full lyric soprano. Extraordinary.
Algo nervisa, al sonreir, algo que nunca se va olvidar que es : el amor
❤
I love everything. The theme, the song, the movie. Very touching, should be rewarded properly this coming Oscars !
DjokerNole Cristi love the movie too.... so much love..

Actually won the oscars
Pal Limbu Awesome totally deserved it.
The actor ❤️Sally
If I close my eyes, I can feel I am transported to another world, a world devoid of hate, violence and evil. What a beautiful, classy, sophisticated song!
This song was written in 1943 among II WW, so it is intended to make people forget reality for a moment and recall for love and hope. I think.
very nice composed song
This is a war time song...many girls succumbed to this...imagine the scenario: a young innocent goodlooking girl and a young cleancut boy in an army uniform in a redtaurant. The boy says to the girl if i ho on that boat i dont know if I'll ever come back alive or not...does the song youll never know...this was the cause of the babyboom or babyboomers as the children born from this scenario
Wonderful song nevertheless
Beautifully said
The only worldclass soprano, that is a really GREAT jazz singer as well
The shape of water brought me here. 👍
Renée Fleming here is amazing! Her opera singing is amazing but this is beyond belief. I am blown away by her lovely voice.
agreed !
I never knew she had such a great jazzy voice 😍
Kirsten Sison did anybody know? I sure as hell did not expect this. It always scares me when I see opera singers I like crossing over into other genres... But what a fantastic surprise😄😃
She started singing jazz in clubs! Her voice is perfect for jazz and ballads now than before.
Stefan Wild there's a whole jazz album from 2005 that is a desert island disc for me. Absolutely gorgeous.
She has a "rock" (lack of better word) album too. Dark hope. Very beautiful.
She studied Jazz during her student years as well as operatic voice it’s heavily influenced her sound. As she’s stated in maaaany interviews and masterclasses as in regards to her style.
An opera singer sings jazz, there is just one word, WOWWW
This song addresses a lack of love calls from parted lovers everywhere!
RENÉE WE SHOULD MAKE OF EACH MOMENT OF OUR LIFE A TREASURE OF TIME BLESS YOU
"The Shape of Water" - Very beautiful movie! 👌👌
This is just beautiful! A big thanks to Renée Fleming! It proves all those people wrong that told me I can't do Jazz any longer and I have to give it up when I want to be an opera singer.
Was one of my Dad's favorites. Originally sung by the great Alice Faye. I love this version and loved this movie.
I love Alice Faye just as much as I love Renee Fleming.
This song just gets better and better everytime I hear it. And Miss Fleming is absolutely incredible.
To sir with love: Guillermo del Toro!!!!! Gracias, maestro por tan espectacular film. Debió llevarse "todos los Oscars" de la Academia.
Sally Hawkins dancing with this song is very beautiful!
Gracias noemi bendición
Is so cute and adorable as well. You really have a beautiful profile and would to get to know you 🥰
and you'll never know just how much I love this song.....
The Shape of Water for Best Picture at the Oscars.... HANDS DOWN !!!!
Words haven't been invented yet to describe just how beautiful this movie is.
I agree with you! (Especially your last sentence.) :)

My goodness I have never heard of her until now, I'm sorry tosay. This is like a voice right from heaven,Old world hollywood, I love this, she has new fan. Isee she is coming to the town where I live.would love to go.
Something about the way she sang "refused to shine." Gets me everytime. 😍
Nate Burch I hear you. The final “You’ll never know if you don’t know now” gets that little lump in throat and teary-eyed for me.
You'll never know
Just how much I miss you
You'll never know
Just how much I care
And if I tried I still couldn't hide
My love for you
You oughta know
For haven't I told you so
A million or more times
You went away and my heart went with you
I speak your name in my every prayer
If there is some other way to prove that I love you
I swear, I don't know how
You'll never know if you don't know now
You'll never know
Just how much I miss you
You'll never know
Just how much I care
You said goodbye
Now stars in the sky
Refuse to shine
Take it from me, it's no fun to be alone
With moonlight and memories
You went away and my heart went with you
I speak your name in my every prayer
If there is some other way to prove that I love you
I swear, I don't know how
You'll never know if you don't know now
Morrissey i think she says "Now stars in the sky refuse to shine" and not " Now the storm in the sky refuse to shine"
Morrissey thnx

Thank u😍
I never heard of this woman. I ran across this on accident. I love this old song. When I heard her I thought she was one of the old 40's 50's singers. Wow, what a voice she has, Just beautiful version of this old classic. Just beautiful
I'm really glad to finally be able to listen again this kind of 'oldies/50s - 60s jazz' genre of music, which sadly seems to be gone nowadays... thank you very much for such warm, heartfelt, & beautiful music... :')

La forma dell'acqua ...un film che amo tantissimo,in tutto e' stato splendido e anche nella musica, importantissima per emozionare ......chiunque...impossibile non emozionarsi😂❤❤❤❤❤

if this was an original it would win the oscar hands down..
It did win an Oscar. It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in the 1943 movie Hello, Frisco, Hello, sung by Alice Faye.
Credit where it’s due - music written by Harry Warren and the lyrics by Mack Gordon.
This is SOOOOO beautiful!!!!!!
Now this is beautiful music. I also like to listen to this type of music while driving.
Yeah...

The original song was sung in 1943 by vera lynn check it out
This was the 1943 Academy Award winning song by Harry Warren, lyrics by Mack Gordon (not Desplat), used beautifully in "The Shape of Water." Great performance here by this great American soprano.
Qué belleza de voz y película ❤
I just found out Renee Fleming is and opera singer. I listened to some of her other music. She has a beautiful voice. For me, this is the best thing I have heard from her. She puts such feeling in this song. The sound of her voice is so very soothing. I wish she had more music like this. I'm not much on opera.
Renee's voice is amazing!
Really, Renee is super❤
One of my best song so far so touching and beautiful😊. You really have a beautiful profile and would like to get to know you more 🥰
I sing this song to my late wife. My mother used to sing it. Wonderful song.
Blandastes al mundo con esa pelicula: La forma del agua, al cual todos enamorastes, nos despertaste lo mas hermoso del corazon. Que puedo decir de Mexico

Renee Fleming is an inspiration. Bless her soul.
Wonderful voice!!❤

I always love Jazz.I'm addicted to the genre. And this song's simply amazing. The movie?Just another masterpiece by Mr Del Toro.Absolutely wonderful movie combine with fine jazz.Mammamiaaa 👌👏
You are really one of greatest of the opera singers for all times.
gives me the romantic goosebumps! so smoothie cool
A great performance of one of the most beautiful songs in the "Great American Song Book." IMHO is it probably Harry Warren's best melody, and the Mack Gordon lyrics add to its beauty. This may be the best performance of it I've ever heard. Fantastic. Renée Fleming shows that opera singers can sing traditional popular music, too, and do it well.
Man, that piano solo is unbelievably tasty! Just found out is Frederic Gaillardet playing it. Wow!
i have a transcription - that was the first thing i did after seeing the movie...
I'll transcribe it myself and play on guitar! It's awesome how a movie watched by accident and specifically a piece in the soundtrack of it can be that influential for your music growth.
i never thought about it that way... but you learn so much by transcribing solos
El error es dejar ir un turista, la capacida, se donomina fuerzas reemplazar lo mas hermoso de la vida
¡Wow! Rene, ¡Eres una maravilla! ❤️
Thank you
I love it!, Renee, please do more Jazz vidios!,
The ending of this movie shocked me!!! We never knew!
finally an Opera singer who can sing the other genres very well, good job
Ohh yeah she is super talented🥰… by the way I was through my page and came across your profile omg you look pretty good on your profile picture
Renee proves us all than when you love music, you can love ALL KIND OF MUSIC. It's about the soul, not the categories. Love you Renee!
If you close your ayes and hear this song, it's like in classic world... Beautyful song
You'll never know .... you went away and my heart went with you.
Nunca sabrás. ...j'adore
She is so good and one of the best songs in the world. You really have a beautiful profile and I would to know you more.

My favourite song from The Shape Of Water. Beautiful song. Stunning singing voice🎶🎶🎶🎶💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I saw this movie yesterday .... it was a random choice, I looked in my Fandango account for a good movie for me and my GF to watch and without looking at the reviews I chose it because of the story.... so glad I watched it! After hearing a few of the songs I thought to myself “I got to buy this soundtrack”! The story was awesome and the acting was over the top.... so glad I saw it and so glad I now own the soundtrack which has a string of great songs like this one !
Cant you just download a jukebox or something....from RUclips....?
@@antarakmit4114 it’s nice to have a physical copy sometimes
By this song scene, I'm pretty convinced Elisa is a mermaid due to the allusions: opening water scene, her fascination with water, Elisa has symmetrical gill-scars, she's mute but has beautiful "inner" voice. At the end when he heals her wounds and the scars reversed back to gills further confirmed that headcanon. Still fighting with my friend who went to see this movie with me about this though lol
Mai Anh Tran I completely agree with your theory. why would she have her scars turn to gills, if in fact, she was not an aquatic being like her ol'man , fishboy?
Yeah and she was found on a lake
Oh wow yes, I think your all right 😊 didn’t even analyse it but now it kinda makes sense, and justifies there sexual encounter 😂 either way beautiful film ❤️ just watched it x x
Wow 😲😍😍😍

Just reviewed soprano Renee Fleming in recital at LA Opera! AWESOME!! -- LIVING OUT LOUD OPERA REVIEW : American Soprano Renée Fleming Performs a Spectacular Concert at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion - By Humberto Capiro -- Entering the stage in a spectacular light gray print dress accented by a long shawl made up of dark grey, wide ribbons, Ms. Fleming began the evening with fine renditions of the baroque pieces “Ombra mai fu” and “Bel piacere e godere” by German composer George Frideric Händel. She was accompanied masterfully for the evening by German pianist Hartmut Höll who has worked with her for many years, as well as other word class opera singers. One of the highlights of the evening came next, in a series of songs by German composer and pianist of the Romantic period, Johannes Brahms. They included “Mondnacht”, “Ständchen” and “Wiegenlied” from Five Songs, “Die Mainacht” from Four Songs, “Da unten im Tale” from 49 German Folksongs, “Meine Liebe ist grün” from Nine Songs and “Vergebliches Ständchen” from Five Romances and Songs. Although each short in duration, these beautiful songs stood out in interpretation and theme, like a delicious sample of musical hors d’oeuvres thanks to Fleming’s performance. Her pianissimos were soft, gentle but projected well into the audience, with interpretations that were full of passion and expression and connected in an intimate level with the audience.

Una cerveza para ella, y para mi tambien
This is a masterpiece
This music video montage and the lovely voice of Renee Fleming captures the essence of Shape of Water's "beauty and the beast" story beautifully. Touches the heart, just as the film does. JL
Super cool, Rene
