Steve Szczepkowski (the sound designer for HR) said that this theme was one of the first ones they composed. JJB asked him to make something that would reflect an atmosphere, but also not distract the player, something ambient that stays in the background. Music always takes the back seat to gameplay in HR, but like any second fiddle, it only makes the main piece that better.
Also when they were thinking of music for the main menu, they were going to compose a separate track. However Sarif theme has stuck so well with the playtesters, they decided to just keep it as the main menu music as well.

12 years and I still cannot believe how great this piece is.
And the space and the ambience it creates. Somehow the music is the same muted gold as the lighting.
I'm still annoyed that they took out the gold filter on the current available versions of the game. It absolutely added to the feel and vibe of the game.
@@dylankerling3023 i still have the old X360 version so for me it fortunately looks the same. The warm glow is a big part of the experience. It makes MD all the better too as it has the cold winter feel to it
I LOVE IT when Jensen is in frame. The scene from his office where he sits down with Carella & Pritchard eavesdrop on 'em is truly hilarious. Then there they are with Taggart, sending death stares to each other while this gorgeous tune goes on. Great job with the whole thing! ❤

this is one of my favourite games they haven't remastered it for the PS4 yet, I hope they do eventually because I really miss playing it, I really loved the theme song for Sarif Industries it's really good to hear it again

I really like your ambient sounds from this game. It helps to relax and think about different things. Even more - you listen to music, watch a video sequence and immediately want to become smarter, learn new things. Understand computers, medicine, technology =)

I wonder if they decided to give this place the game's main theme because it was the primary hub or if this track was created just for this but came out so great they chose to make it the main theme
They wanted to create a theme that players would be able to enjoy on repeat and McCan was able to create just that. They talk about this in the extras "in-game commentary" option

McCann just makes THE most immersive music. I was lucky enough to find the ingame music rips, I can't remember where, But It wasn't paid for. Learn't about the "Stress and combat" music types. I was only looking for the UNATCO reference in this game... Still legit bought the top shelf version of this series, because McCanns soundtracks were great.

I know you've previously published a great mix of two tracks... the remaining theme(s?) are very challenging to find elsewhere, not to mention as extended. Thanks so much for all your excellent work.

Is it weird to say that I view Deus Ex Human Revolution as the edgier younger cousin to the Perfect Dark franchise? It seems that corporations have more power than governments and are willing to take matters into their own hands instead of trusting law enforcement, except here we can see that hyper corporations aren't inherently corrupt (unless the Carrington Institute is its own kind of corporation?).
Don't know if you will see this ,but did you do any tweaks,install dxvk along with Rudy's enb ?

Not a reupload, a remake of an older video. I mentioned this in a comment on this very video I made back in 2017. That video may have audio inconsistencies, it's old and doesn't look good. From time to time I will remake older videos and sort of refresh them with more video clips and better audio and visual quality.
