Try the very first one. The graphics will be dated, but it felt more realistic and immersing than this.
It's like one of those movies(Gattaca) that stays with you for the rest of your life

I prefer this game over 2077. Better story and aesthetic. Love the black and gold color scheme, and that soundtrack is unforgettable.
Definitely not. Human Revolution's story was one of the weirdest, most poorly-told and least thought-through stories I've ever seen in video games. Human Revolution is a game where your entire involvement changes nothing, not to mention you always come to every scene like two days too late.

Still, as far as atmosphere and general vibe are concerned, DX:HR is best of the best as far as I'm concerned. Especially compared with 2077.

@@schalitz1 To each their own, but I thoroughly enjoyed the braindance sections. Especially the darker ones. Cyberpunk as a genre shines when it's dark.
And the Arasaka funeral parade, that was pure awesomeness.
2077 is a husk of a game compared to any Deus Ex title
I cannot believe how good the soundtrack is.
One of the first things I did was jump off the top floor and died.

That hum at 0:17 is the most beautiful sound ever created ever.
Loved this track on the main menu of DXHR main menu. It's amazing how a track can encapsulate the mood and atmosphere of a game so brilliantly. The composer Michael McCann is exceptional - he does it so well it's hard to imagine future DX games without his touch.

For a decade this track has been here for me when I'm depressed. Fills me with hope, and gives me some composure.
This has always been my favourite tune on the soundtrack. Really good to have playing in the background while I work.

This track has been etched into my memory forever, along with Human Revolution... I kind of expected the same from Mankind Divided, but...
No, I'm not here to complain, I came here to appreciate the beauty of HR's soundtrack and dive deep into it once again :)
While I really enjoyed Mankind Divided, it didn't match the atmosphere and soundtrack of Human Revolution.
I would say the first track played in Prague was great. That was most memorable along with the Utelek soundtrack.
But none are as beautiful as Human Revolution's soundtrack.
mankind divided was a better game from a technical standpoint. the augmentations and gameplay catering to a more combat approach was a welcome addition. but i agree, human revolution was a better overall experience. the soundtrack is better too in my opinion.
The problem was that Mankind Divided took such a boring, simplistic view of politics that the story became almost intolerable. Whereas Deus Ex 1 and Human Revolution had something interesting to say about globalisation, corporate exploitation and poverty in society Mankind Divided just shouts "RACISM IS BAD!" over and over. I still facepalm thinking about that absolutely cringe "Aug Lives Matter" poster.

I love this extension because its great for studying. It provokes a sense of brilliance and optimism of Sarif but also the challenges his company faced for pushing boundaries and living on the cutting edge. Its sad to see what happened to the company at beginning of Human Revolution.
I work security in a transaction processing business and this is the theme I listen to while at work.😂

This track really is the embodiment of "light in the darkness." Even in a world as dark as Deus Ex, which is nowhere near as bad as our own, there are men like David Sarif who stand for what is right now matter the cost.
This game is still great today, considering the age of it.
This game was made very advanced of it's time.
It's not even 12 years old.

I'm about to start my first corpo job and this tune just fits perfectly.
To date, Deus Ex has by far the best ambient music that I can think of. Don't get me wrong, plenty of games have great music, plenty are arguably "better" from a musical standpoint, but nothing just "fits" or compliments different areas the way it does in Deus Ex.

Perfect piece of music! And the game itself...The best game I've ever played. It was just pleasure to come home from work and knowing this game was there, waiting to be played. I took my time with this one. And yet I played it through eventually. Missing those days.

We are closer to the year in which the game takes place than the year when it was released.
The Future is near.
and people are literally beginning to get (somewhat) augmented limbs, controllable with just thoughts. It's exciting!

I'm going to replay it in 2027 because that is the year the game is set and I turn 30 by then too so that is fitting I think.

I built my ambient/sleep playlist exclusively with music tracks from both of your Deus Ex music playlists; and I use the faster-paced pieces from both for my workout music. You have done amazing work, my friend; and I applaud you. Keep it up; I look forward to your next project.
Honestly, this game was made for PC it still looks amazing.

@Z390 Well, I came across this video - d18Omx9gMK0 and I found the music in it exceptional. The feeling, atmosphere, sounds used, composition, everything was just great. I my self am very interested in electronic / cinematic / experimental music. So I started to search for artist who did that. That's how I end up subscribing to this amazing channel and listening to hours of great music. :-)

It isn't better now, we are destroying everything. More than half of the world's wildlife is gone since the 1950s. Income inequality in this world is higher than it has ever been in a developed nation.
People are dying because their healthcare costs are obscene. It is not a better place.

This soundtrack has been with me on an almost daily basis for years. First when I played the game, then when I started working. It's been a while since it's been giving me clarity on the big points.
Does anyone know anything like it to come out in more recent years?
Victor Pascu no unfortunately not however some indie games like celeste can give you the same feeling first time playing through or cuphead if you like a challenge. This game was one of a kind!
I don't know how much you follow the game series but Mankind Divided came out in 2016 which is the sequel to the soundtrack this is from. Another soundtrack idea is from Splinter Cell Double Agent which is also done by the same composer Michael McCann. Another idea that is not from the same composer is Eve Online's soundtrack. It shares a similar dystopian, slow style of soundtrack but is done by Jón Hallur Haraldsson.
It's still not a bad recommendation because he did about a third of the tracks for the single player and it matches a similar feeling. I do agree that although I love Sascha Dikiciyan's tracks that made up the majority of the single player the dark/dystopian feelings he created come across more light hearted and seem to focus more on the futuristic-tech setting the game takes place in rather than the moodiness.

Damn, how the things have changed...we're in lockdown, Corona is kicking our ass.....now this music just feels a bit more surreal, a reminder of a different time.
I still love it, but it evokes a lot more melancholy in me than it did all those years ago, when I was a teenager.
Corona is a prototype for Gray Death. Don't worry, you'll be living in Deus Ex soon.
I feel the same about the OG Deus Ex. It's really sad to know that I'll never get the experience of playing it for the first again.

HR is a masterpiece, MD is fairly enjoyable.
@@VespertiliKildem nice joke man, I laughed so hard. Cause MD absolutely better than HR in all terms - in gameplay, Level design, locations, story, lore, atmosphere, visual & side-quests. My first walkthrough was 62 hours, it's even more than my first walkthrough of HR (60 hours)

Edit: The biggest mistake SE has ever made by cancelling this game and betting their arses on the FF Franchise and Visions of Mana. Deus Ex would've become an example for the gaming industry but no the Japanese stubborness and political idiocy has succeeded as always

I literally played it on PC without a graphics card. It runs quite nicely

I was playing this one night and smoked a joint. The music came on whilst I was in an elevator at the HQ, I sat in that elevator for 45 mins staring at the buttons for the floors mesmerised by this track. I happily lost a chunk of my life to a timeless tune.
