As an older rider at 48, and 6'-2". I ride 10" bars with a lot of stack height, and a 33 mm rise top load stem.
I find it much easier on my lower back. I only do basic tricks now days. Some day in the future I'll only be able to ride pumptracks. I believe the taller bars will lengthen my riding days.

I agree, the taller height does feel better on the back. Almost 50 and still killing it! Love that dude.

Have you ever looked into "RAD" or rider area distance for BMX? Lee likes bikes talks about it all the time for MTB's. I feel like it makes a lot more sense in the Dirt Jump and BMX world though. Basically measure from the floor to the center of your grip. Then make the measurements from your bottom bracket to center of handlebar grips match. This will give you the most explosive strength and leverage for bunny hops. He uses dead lifts often as a example about ware you are able to pick the most weight up to. I feel like he is onto something although I do prefer my MTB longer then RAD was suggest I should ride.

I’m a tall rider 6’3 I got long limbs and I’ve rode a lot of bars. My favorite combo is a front load with no stack Hight and the s and m Elevenz

Tall bars would also limit your bunny hops, right? They would hit your body earlier than shorter bars, I guess

I had the same experience with too big bars and came to a similar conclusion about the manuals:
When you have too much levrage, your bike's gonna be real horizontal.. when you then lean back and forth, you actually lean more up and down than forwards and backwards, making them really hard to control with the huge levrage..
Your conclusion is prettier tho ahah
So heay while it does help with less wrist stress, be gentle with it and dont go too crazy in bar height.
AND CARE ABOUT YOUR UP AND BACKSWEEPS!

I just put on new forks with a longer steer tube and I looped out right away because now my stack height is higher. It's a weird deal.

@@Dougsterbob see, so Imo you need a good balance between range of motion in the manual and hardness of getting into it..
dont ride too big bars for too long or you'll destroy your manuals!

Hello i really like your videos and i'm about to rebuild a BMX bike that i got new in 2005 and start riding it again. I'm 6 ft tall and i've found some 9'5 inch handlebars i want to have on my bike. Do you think that size would fit my height? The original handlebars are too low in my opinion.
