The Garden embodies contemporary performing arts in the diversity of human life and pursues the intention to identify new aesthetics and visions to abolish limits beyond dance. The garden is a playground, a microcosm of human interaction, a building of a community, a space for exploring different constellations of relationships, and a place of invitation. It is a narrative that transcends time and place.
The interdisciplinary creation is based on expanding the sound potential of the body in researching the practice of contemporary flamenco dance. The way of dealing with the dance practice itself directly enters the realm of sound with the aim of expanding the conceptual domain of dance into the inner spaces of the body and presenting dance in both its visual and auditory form. Researching dance as a visual-sound practice opens up thinking of a choreography as dealing with the intermodal potential of the body in motion, in which systems of movement, gesture and sound intertwine.
Urška Centa researches a multiplicity of bodies within the artistic practice of flamenco that is going through a process of change. She focuses on the actual act of dancing and pursuits the physical practice that seeks to free itself from the culturally inherited features.
