I’ve herniated a disc this past year and in 2025, I’m going to complete a sprint distance triathlon and build to a trail run in the mountains in the spring of 2026. Get back healthy and happy after my spine injury. Love seeing the grind Jaz. It reminds me why I’m pushing through this healing process as hard as I can and constantly doing my rehab and pt. Hey girl, not sure if you’ve ever been to Perth but as someone who lived there most of my life, you’ll be happy to know Busselton will probably be a little bit cooler than Mackay! Plus dry heat compared to qld’s typically more humid enviro AND the wind! It’ll be a nice breeze but hopefully not too windy because WA can be very very windy xx
Love the idea of running for an amount of time instead of for a specific distance! Sounds like a good way to test your limits instead of stopping because you hit a specific mark. I will have to try this! Love your content, especially as an aspiring triathlete. You make it all look possible! ❤
Hi Jaz, currently commenting while completing a brick sesh from my home in WA. I episode on every indoor brick, currently training for busso 70.3. My wife’s from Mackay and I know the heat well. If you can get those sessions done in Mackay, busso will be a breeze. Completely different climate, although it will still be warm. Happy training, see you in Busso 🤙
Just completed my Ironman a month or so ago! Just something I wish I knew before mine, Maurten are the Ironman fuel sponsor so that will be the fuel provided at all the Ironman events! I wished I had practiced with Maurten gels because if you lose a bottle on the bike or if you run out of gels, you can grab them at aid stations without fear of not having tried them before! It also saves you carrying 8+ gels on the run as you can easily pick them up at the aid stations. I found it was a lot to carry my own different gels in my race belt and was scared to try a Maurten gel I hadn’t had before in case of stomach issues. I don’t know if this is helpful information or not! I will be following your journey all the way through to the race from the UK!

they are also really expensive 😅 but they are THE BEST gels and liquid carbs with lots of professional athletes using them!
