    I run about a 45 minute 5k and am proud of getting to that. can't wait to get to a 25 minute 5k!

      You will get there! My first 5k was 1 hour 2 minutes and now its 25 mins. Taken a couple of years and it was easy to get down to 28 mins but I had to really work at getting into the 25s. Now my goal is sub 25 but its very very difficult as I'm already at my flat out pace in the 25s. It all takes time ❤

      Same!! 45 minutes is a great time for me. I'm very proud of myself as a person who could not run even 1 km before.

    My trick to find my easy pace is to breath through my nose. If i feel the need to mouth breath, i know that I'm going too fast and i slow down

      @paularunslondon 8 месяцев назад +23

      That’s what I do too. I lost 1 minute per kilometre when I first started, but now my easy running is quicker than when I just used to go out and run!

      I'll try that on my next easy run, great tip!

    i’m gonna comment now so i can come back hopefully in the future and see my progress! i’ve been running for a few weeks and it’s been really hard but it’s definitely getting easier! my mile rn is about 12:00, and i definitely wanna improve that but i want to be able to run farther rather than faster! as long as im exercising, i don’t care much about my pace :)

    Going to comment now so I can come back for my progress! I just started running again after a long long break, I am currently able to comfortably run 1km, but once the 1.5km hits I really start to feel it so that's where I take a break. Today I managed to push myself to run a total of 2.1km 🏃‍♀️💨

    My suggestion for beginners is to keep a running journal. It helps you to see Ur progress over time but remember to slow down and enjoy

    This is great! I'll add one other trick that worked for me -- set progressive goals. I set a multi-year goal at the beginning of last year to run a 5k in every county in my state (Iowa, US -- 99 counties). We made it through 5 before I found out I was pregnant. I don't run well while pregnant, so I paused for a year until after I took time postpartum to rebuild my core and pelvic floor. I'll be restarting my run training soon with the goal of picking up my 5ks again at the end of May, and I'm looking forward to running now more than I have after any of the other kids I've had. I credit having a goal in mind for my motivation.

    Yes, to steady my heart rate and find my pace I take deep breathes in through mouth and nose (Try to match stride).Then quickly take 2 breathes out by mouth. This quickly will release the carbon dioxide. Also NEVER skip warm ups and cool downs! 🏃‍♀️

    Hey Conagh! Does Runna give you verbal cues to keep you on track with pace? Do you have any recommendations for apps that do? Such as give you pace indications every 0.5-1km

    • @billied0wds
      @billied0wds Год назад +1

      It does! It tells you if you need to slow down or speed up and then tell you your current pace and what you should be aiming for, it then tells you if you’re on pace. Hope that makes sense :) xx

    Is it normal as a starter dat I feel some pain in my knees? I have good shoes.

    • @LadyKolibriArt
      @LadyKolibriArt 4 месяца назад

      No, if it doesn’t feel like sour muscles around your knee, then it is not normal. You might have an imbalance and need to train some parts separately, next to running.

    • @mieke109
      @mieke109 3 месяца назад

      Could also be that even though they are good shoes, they are not right for you. Try and figure out if you're a toe runner or a heel runner and get recommendations from there
