  • Getting the Autostop/start (ESS) warning light, backup camera and backup lights failing after re-gearing. This is apparently a common problem with manual transmission Wranglers and Gladiators. Setting the gears in Tazer to 5.13 gears didn't help. Was going to take to the dealer but found the answer on Jeep Gladiator forum. Check it out! Please like and subscribe. #JTRSPARTACUS

    This is great, thanks a ton. I've been having the same issue since May. What exactly did you disconnect? I understand the negative connection on the battery, but what was the 2nd connection you disconnected? It wasn't so clear in the video. Also, what was your re-learning process like? Just driving in 6th gear between 40 and 80 MPH? Did you give any thought to the accelerator pedal position or the flywheel torque? Both of those are listed in the procedure, but how are those positions determined? Thanks again!

    • @JTRSpartacus
      @JTRSpartacus  2 года назад +4

      There is a second black wire on the negative terminal. It’s attached to the wire near the battery terminal. It goes to the auxiliary battery underneath. The easiest way to tell is to disconnect and see if it turns on or starts. If it doesn’t turn on or start it’s disconnected. The relearn is Pretty much just driving in 6th depressing the accelerator for 20 seconds. I posted the pic of the procedure in my community post section so it’s easier to see. Check it out. Good luck! #JTRSPARTACUS

      @@JTRSpartacus It worked!!! Thanks a ton for posting this. Jeep told me I was on my own and a Tazer didn't work so I had given up hope. But I just disconnected both cables from the negative terminal, then disconnected those two cables from each other, let it sit for five minutes and boom... start/stop worked again. It was working right out of the driveway. Usually it errors out once I hit 4th gear, but on my way to the highway for the relearning process, it never errored out. Still did the highway drive in 6th for good measure. Thanks again! I'll spread the word and direct people to your video.

    Experiencing same issues on my JTR-MT after regear to 5.13. Had same issue before after putting 37's on and dealer fixed it then (i believe with this solution) but they didn't mention this when i called them on the road after regear. Instruction pdf is beyond my tech expertise but i tried to follow instructions on your channel. Didn't work for me, couple ideas why: (1) I disconnected the negative terminal clamp and both black wires connected to it--however i did not disconnect those black wires from each other as the connections were very tight and i didn't want to damage wires--perhaps i could with better tools (i seem to recall you mentioning need to disconnect wires from each other--does that have something to do with disconnecting both batteries?? pdf mentions need to disconnect both and i have no idea how to disconnect auxiliary battery. I tapped brake pedal a little like you suggested but wasn't sure how long i had to do that for. (2) My DTC P08A6 problems appear at irregular, unpredictable intervals from start and this particular time, as i left on my way to highway for "6th gear learnin'" it happened almost immediately as i left my driveway. In any event, if i disconnect battery at home it is unlikely i would make it to highway before problem appears. Is it necessary to do the 6th gear learning prior to error appearing? Not sure that is possible.

    • @JTRSpartacus
      @JTRSpartacus  3 месяца назад +2

      You definitely need to disconnect the auxiliary battery - all of the cables. If you have power to anything, the relearn procedure won’t work. You may need to get creative about how /where you disconnect and reconnect - close to a highway. It’s a pain but it’ll work. Good luck ! #JTRSPARTACUS
