I remember reading Franz Kafka's "The Castle" in high school in the 1960s. Now I'm watching it come true in countries all over the world, including those claiming to be democracies, and including (I acknowledge to a lesser extent, but just as real) in the United States. This is DEEPLY DISTURBING!

Rui Barbosa Back in 1910s had already said that Brazil was due to become a dictatorship of the Judiciary! He died regretting deeply having supported deposing the Emperor Dom Pedro II! The Brazilian monarchy was a well balanced machine! Despite the usual economic challenges that are outside the preview of the monarch. Brazil would have been in much better place now if were still a monarchy!

JoshuaReadsKJV I didn't imply that works is how we get saved. Just that being baptised and accepting Christ as our Savior, then ignoring his requirements to serve, may get us judged more harshly. Having faith, but acting dead in our faith, is not good. When we accept Salvation, we are essentially saying we will obey and do His will. When we just say we are saved and have no obligatiin, we are taking our Salvation for granted.
