Here's an idea... Instead of killing it, why doesn't the SCP foundation attempt to erase 682's memories and make the creature not try to kill humans? It's not a kill attempt so wouldn't that make it so the creature wouldn't have anything to adapt to since it only adapts to physical damage?
It's not a bad suggestion, but the issue would be finding a viable method. I think memetic SCP's have been shown to have no effect on it. The amnesia-inducing SCP-939 didn't seem to have an effect, and one can reasonably assume that no chemical amnesiac would work, given its resistance to poisons. And even if not, the amnestics the Foundation uses only affects short term memory.

Canonically, the doom slayer could kill it. In the doom lore, it states that the slayers power is equal to his will, basically meaning that if he wants to kill something, it dies. The doom slayer has infinite power, as long as he wants the beast to die, he can kill it.

(Prime evils are sorta like the descendents of "the father", the actual god of the doom universe). It actually isn't clear whether the doom slayer could kill the father or not, considering 1. His power comes from the father's blood, and 2. He really doesn't have a reason to, considering the father isn't evil and trying to kill off humanity.

Many questions but my main question is how?
Why dont you just give it a shared containment cell with the immortal little girl? They both enjoy each other's company and make each other happy. You could even give it a better room that the little girl would enjoy, as it seems 682 likes it when the little girl is happy, based off him letting her color on him and even ride him.
It's because they're both super dangerous SCPs. Even if they get along, it could have unforseen consequences. What if 682 adapted to the girl?

What if he figures out how to use his adaptations permanently? There will always be risk. But with risk there is sometimes reward. I'm not saying what you're saying is wrong, and I promise I'm not trying to come off as rude, your assessment is probably pretty accurate, but thats not the best logic to go by.

To be fair they back it up by explaining how it's survived other things that would make pretty much everything else die. Like putting it in a particle collider and it just became unquantifiable matter. It's reasonable to say "what if it survives" because damn that sucker do be kinda living tho
the scp 682 killer fluid is probably the only way to actually kill this monster and I don't think the reptile can adapt to this fluid because its called "scp 682 killer" and the coffee machine scp never makes a mistake
You can always travel back in time, all the way to the origins of SCP-682, so you can discover how the reptile became so hyper-adaptive and hyper-regenerative in the first place, then use a specific method to prevent the thing from becoming “hard to kill”, and everything should be fine again.
If its anything like me, they problably tried that already, and i was drowned in a bathtub as a kid, so i know drowning doesn't work.
This was tried many years in the future. The resulting adaptation is why the knife that erases you from the timeline was itself erased.
but this creates a paradox, as if they travel back in time to make him easy to kill, they wouldn't have a reason to travel back in time in the future, preventing them from ever making him easy to kill. No matter how you go about it, it'd make a paradox

How to terminate 682:

The foundation has so many incredible cheat tools, they just need to use them right. Back to SCP 294, just type in "liquid that removes SCP-682's regenerative and adaptive abilities for good when touching any part of its body". Since it can assumably produce omnipotent liquids this shouldn't be too much of a problem either. After that it's just a big crocodile-looking thing

Notice this comment if you haven't already, and observe the necessary step's:
1. Shoot 682 with a bullet composed of SCP-2953.
2. Allow SCP-173 to rip 682 to 100% shreds (After taking out 682's many eyes of course [just in case]).
3. Move Each and Every scrap of 682's remains (not forgetting any blood) into separate chambers.
4. Place each piece of scrap into a vat of the "SCP-682 killer" from 294.
5. Place the substance in one giant vat made of either SCP-148 (telekill alloy), or glass reinforced by SCP-914. In the event that possible remains of 682 are still present, it's safer to have it grouped all together than to risk property getting torn up as all the pieces find each other.
6. Have Dr. Alto Clef, SCPs 999, 053, and 166 visit the containment chamber on weekly or monthly bases. Note that they do Not All have to be in the room at the same time, but it would certainly help.
7. In the event 682 shows Any signs of reforming, use the Scranton-Lang Reality Anchor to access SCP-3001, as it would appear that simply activating it is enough to access said dimension (as evident from the 2005 incident). Transport the vat into 3001, and Immediately seal the gateway. MTF Tau-5 should be placed on standby for any reports matching 682's description around the world. Can't be too safe with this creature.
Note: It's worth noting that this a Very Much Extended version of my Previous proposal from the last video on this topic. It's certainly worth trying.

The thing is, since 682 can’t be beaten by being *literally erased from existence*, I believe the only reason the Foundation can’t beat it is because it’s the embodiment of Plot Armor
it depends what 'erased from existence' means exactly. For instance, we have a certain concept of death, but this doesn't appl to 682 Similarly, just because we think something is erased from existence, doesn't mean it technically is. It could exist in other ways we can't precieve, but we think it's erased
The issue with being 'erased' from existence is that scp 682 is 'above' the concept of being erased. It was shown in another scp crosstest that SCP 173 'The statue' was at one point the cause of SCP682's species going nearly extinct, so the key to defeating 682 is looking into 173's past. The problem is that so far only one Statue exists that we can use to kill 682. We believe in an alternate timeline there were multiple statues which hunted in packs to eradicate 682's species.
Use SCP-1739 against him. It can take care of him instantly in the most bizarre way possible.

Ok, crazy idea: give everyone in the foundation amnestics and change the definition of SCP-2950 to “an invulnerable immortal humanoid that is nice and loves everyone except 682, that can nullify it’s adaptive capabilities and kill it with no hope of the lizard coming back ever, no exceptions possible.” Then bring them together, kill 682, erase everyone’s memory, and return 2950 to being a chair. Would need a lot of resources and time but might work.

The foundation doesn’t want to kill him, he’s the ultimate test subject because he can be nearly infinitely damaged without dying.
If he is imune to even "non-existence" of that spot in Russia, then it's truly impossible to kill it, if it can just force itself to exist again.
One idea would be to trap it into a time loop, like that Justice League Unlimited episode. But instead of a whole day, a single second. Lock him into a state in which it can't even move because it perpetually goes back one second in time.

The thing with 2935 is the mechanism of how it works is entirely unknown. The act of merely reopening the path to that universe might allow it into ours if it's a being, which is as you know the theory that exist today. It crosses over it's an automatic end of world scenario. It isn't even known if the backups to restart the world could survive.

Grind the SCP into microscopic particles and freeze them, so it becomes significantly small, small enough to fit inside SCP 914, the clockworks, subsequently running the setting on "very fine". The result may vary, but if it were the same, you could always split the microscopic particles into different dimensions, such as the red sea object, and break the portal so they cannot form back together. Last option is to organise as many SCPs as possible that WILL fight against it, such as SCP 173 and will not cause SCP 682 to develop any adaptations towards them.
While immensily difficult, there is a method no one has tried before:
Firstly we need to destroy this reality, and than make a new one, 682 would be confused because everything just did not exist for a moment, so we throw 20 million pancakes at it, while we do that, start re making what destroyed reality last time and throw 7 tv's at 682. Destroy reality again and remake it again, no matter the costs, than give 682 any plushie and a mostly immortal child for it to be distracted, for the after that give 682 a shirt and destroy reality again, repeat the process untill you reach the 12th reality, than give 682 a cup with poison and it will start dancing, after 34.6 seconds into the dance, give it a book and than it will die.
No one can prove this will not work.

I do! The way 682 works, is you can't kill it. If someone has a good idea, you just say: "it wouldn't work!". Badabimm-badabumm it's still living. Anyway, I hate the idea of trying to neutralize 682 and also the idea of the lizard itself. It's not creative to just say "it wouldn't work" or better "it didn't work".

To kill scp 682, you may need to make bullets with the liquid inside its chamber and poor some of the liquid on the bullet, then fire it at its heart and open the bullet in so the liquid will destroy the heart and it will die without heart.

@Gaming Manta in fact, now that I think about it, Kirby's kind of a chaotic force of his own. 682 could end up manipulating Kirby into joining him on a killing spree. After all, it wouldn't be the first time Kirby had been manipulated by someone into doing something bad. That being said, those that manipulate Kirby end up getting their comeuppance from him in the end. Which stands to question, could SCP 682 get away with it?
Or perhaps 682 is smarter than that, and will do his best to have nothing to do with Kirby.

I know i missed my opportunity to put my theory in the post before this video but here’s my idea, split the overgrown lizard into several small pieces, put the pieces into separate hydrochloric acid baths inside more acid baths, shoot them into the farthest corners of the universe, create satellites that look like asteroids so it’s possible to set up a remote and automated security system in the event of a breach, that way the giant lizard can effectively be banished forever without him reforming and reaching his full potential, he might as well be immortal with all these failed experiments, yes it would take an insane deal of resources, but there is little that can go wrong with something like this
I have the same thought every time I watch these. What if 682 has another anomalous ability that alters the brains of anyone who even contemplates it's death, and whenever they think of something that would actually work, 682 makes them blow off the idea. It's more of a paradox, that the only things that can kill 682 are things you haven't tried, but once you try it, it can't kill 682.
Set the goat from Goat Simulator in 682's containment chamber, Pilgor is just as immortal and dangerous, maybe Pilgor can turn 682 into a watermelon that explodes. Best case scenario 682 becomes trapped as a watermelon and you all have infinite watermelon to go around.

But the violent thing would be to cut him into tiny pieces again, but then relocate those pieces of 682 to different areas incredibly far from each other, preventing him from regenerating. At least not for a relatively long time
It would probably just stop trying to reassemble and pick a piece to regenerate a smaller 682 from. Probably it's head or brain. Then, it would eat and grow back to normal size.

Three options
One, send him to the GOC. Guaranteed way of solving one of the two problems at least, either the GOC manages to dispose of 682 or 682 wipes them out.
Two, ask Miss J. Can't remember the SCP number, but the digital teacher that trained Zena Cho (I feel I got that name wrong). Maybe she can teach someone how to kill 682.
Or 3, find a way to get a serious answer from 682 itself. Maybe there's an SCP that can read minds or force the truth out of something, I'm not familiar with all of them. If so, just ask 682 how one might destroy or at least neutralize it. Maybe he'll have an answer to make him less of a threat in the least.
I'm pretty sure they tried to make a scp that can read mind (don't remember which, but he survived a car crash and got that ability) and he refused to do so, saying that he couldn't read it.
they tried that already. They also tried to have Dr Bright take it over using SCP 963...Didn't go over so well. Apparently the thing is a malicious, nigh-indestructible force of nature even in the mindscape.

The serpent’s hand has access to an infinite number of parallel universes. Simply ask them to transport SCP-682 to a world in which there is a breathable atmosphere, but only plant life and no fauna. We have seen in previous tests that SCP-682 only adapts after they are harmed. This might seem obvious but even in cases were 682 clearly had prior knowledge of the entity he was being exposed to, such as 173, he did not adapt until after he was hurt. This tells us that his ability to adapt is most likely a reflex instead of something he does of purpose. If he is placed in a world were nothing is trying to kill him and there is nothing for him to kill, he won’t adapt and will be trapped on the planet. There are only two flaws that I can think of with this plan. Firstly, 682 could theoretically with enough time destroy the planet’s atmosphere forcing himself to adapt to the vacuum of space. While this is possible it would take an extremely long time even for him. The foundation has access to anomalies like SCP-427 which can restore damage to biological tissue. This could allow us to restore the damage 682 does while he is contained with only the occasional visit to his prison. Secondly, persuading the serpents hand to go along with intentionally imprisoning an anomalous entity might be difficult, but I expect they will probably make an exception for 682 given how violent he is.
Firstly. I love this idea but I have one issue with it as it sits. SCP-682 is almost always described as, "The unkillable lizard the foundation wants to kill." and "SCP-682 appears to have a hatred of all life." So even if the serpents hand could theoretically teleport him away into a new reality. His main goal would be to get back to the normal reality and kill all the things. There could be a chance for a catastrophic end of multiple realities scenario if he got access to the Library that is between realities too, which serpents hand uses for their home base. So, I wouldn't trust containment for our reptilian friend to them.

Since his body contains lots of minerals and elements like iron, zinc and more and 682 has incredible regenerative abilities, you could always chop pieces of his body of and extract the elements in his body. Using this method, mankind will have an infinite supply of water (in his blood), iron, zinc, carbon, phosphorus and more!

I propose increasing the cruelty of it's current captivity, make the acid stronger, electrify it, attach gun turrets to the ceiling and have the thing constantly under fire, maybe some flamethrowers too, play a video of a Dr. Bright laughing at it on loop 24/7, and stop feeding it. Basically, make its existence so miserable, so painful, that it sees that its only way of escaping is killing itself, and let it expire of its own accord.

I agree with "Ace Godwin" 's suggestion (6:28) TO A POINT. Monitor 682. Restrain 682. Prevent 682 from causing harm, but STOP HARMING 682. It may have been genocidal before it was captured, but subjecting it to pain and torment isn't going to improve its disposition. I've said this before: I'd even go so far as to go back in time to when 682 was first captured, bringing with me all the records of everything that had been done to 682 as well as everything it had done, in an attempt to get the foundation to MORE HUMANELY contain 682. Treat it as a threat, but don't let its hate contaminate you.
I'd like to see him go toe to toe with Librarian, another incredibly adaptive entity who can learn something so deeply, they master it, and can create it from nothing, or destroy it, etc. In other words, they can gain a form of Omniscience over anything.
Another thing Librarian has done is that they bonded their spirit to their body on such a level that the two cannot be parted by any means, scientific or magical that has ever been thrown at it (and considering the efforts made to destroy humanity that Librarian has sometimes physically blocked with their own physical body, this has been a lot) so they could easily survive 682 long enough to figure out how to literally undo its existence permanently. The only question is whether Librarian would.
One thing to know about Librarian is that they protect all humans, which apparently isn't just Earth, and isn't just in our dimension, apparently Librarian exists as an entity across multiple dimensions and as such, can only devote so much of itself to any one of them at a time and is constantly battling threats in nigh on all of them humans exist in. So the question is whether Librarian would deem 682 as enough of a threat to the humans of Earth to devote enough of itself to show up there, learn how to properly end it once and for all and then do so. In the end, Earth itself might not actually be an important enough cog in the whole of humanity to devote enough time and effort to the elimination of 682, but the mere fact that 682 by itself isn't really a dire threat to the entirety of humanity on Earth would lower that threat threshold and lower Librarians likelihood of neutralizing it.

Doom slayer wouldn't stand a chance considering he mainly only uses conventional weapons such as guns, flamethrowers, rockets ect 682 Would likely just adapt and regenerate to the point 682 would be faster and able to do way more damage then doom slayer could withstand. Potentially leading to a xk class end of the world scenario when 682 breeches containment with its new abilities.

Been trying to track him through both IP and MAC address for the scp foundation on behalf of Doctor Bright. That anomaly has led my entire team on 4 wild goose chases, a Blockbuster, three different Chucky cheeses, the entrance to site 13, the red pool and finally to the epicenter of The Flesh that hates. We almost wound up inside the endless Ikea but too many D-class had been lost at this point to continue any further searches. Do to the 417 D-class being lost, the 05 council and the ethics committee actually agreed that this scp was as hard to find as 682 is to kill. Do to not being able to identify any specific anomalous properties other than out smarting the entire foundation at every turn, the ethics committee and 05 council have made the decision this mysterious being is a person of interest instead of an scp. Now referred to in all following documents as POI NETWORK CELEBRITY COMMENTER.

The millisecond I heard you say, "It always manages to come back, even from the smallest specks of matter," it dawned on me on how to kill SCP-682, with no conceivable way for SCP-682 to escape death.
First, you would load SCP-682 onto SCP-052. You would repeat step one until he is sent back in time. Then, you would take SCP-682 and his past self and load them onto a rocket together. Then you would send the rocket on a direct course for a black hole. The course would need to be direct so once the rocket runs out of fuel, inertia should be enough to take it the rest of the way to the black hole since there is no friction in space. If an atom comes into contact with it's past self, both atoms are completely destroyed, as in removed from existence. So, once SCP-682 and it's past self are in the black hole, they will be compacted to a space so small that it would be inevitable that all of SCP-682's atoms will come into contact with their past selves. The chamber in which SCP-682 and his past self should be loaded in should be made of the same material as SCP-682's containment cell back on Earth, so that way he won't be able to break the rocket.

when you think about it the "you hit it again" one isn't that bad. Most of the termination efforts ended with SCP-682 having a hight percentage of his body destroyed by the S.C.P they were Cross Testing him with. So why not introduce another S.C.P once that happens and let it finish the job, in another words why not hit him again?

simple. ask 343 for a container nothing that exists or ever had existed can get out of, a system that reverts as you get out of it over and over again. the reptile is trapped. the other option would be to whimsically ask 343 for a set of Dragonballs. you could then use those Dragonballs to make it so that 682 cannot gain momentum... meaning he can move
