Great vid and timed perfect as I just finished the series yesterday. But have to say the Pilgrim was in the comics. He was the son of Lilith and Zarathos who used to battle with Doctor Strange and his protégés the Witches Jennifer Kale, Topaz and Satana. The Pilgrim was eventually killed by the Ghost Rider. Even so enjoyed the content and have just subscribed so time to start a binge watch of your other content 😉
John Pilgrim is not an original character. He is based off of the Punisher villain called "The Mennonite". They just changed the name to not offend any religious groups.
Andrew Labelle Pilgrim and Mennonite are literally both former hitmen turned religious fanatics who get sent to kill the punisher. Not saying they are the same character, but Pilgrim is VERY heavily influenced by Mennonite. Mennonite was a one-off villain, so Pilgrim could easily be seen as a more relateable/current expansion on the mennonite character
You are one bad day away from being me is reoccurring theme with the joker it is from the killing joke, but the joke, is on the joker because Bruce Wayne's one bad day made him crazy enough to dress up like a bat and fight crime that's why he couldn't break Batman, in The Killing Joke because Batman had already been broken that's what made him Batman. Then in the Injustice universe the Joker gives Superman one bad day by tricking him into killing Lois Lane and his unborn child this breaks Superman and he punches right through the Joker's chest killing him and then wages a war on super villains killing most of them and basically takes over the whole planet with him and Batman splitting up the Justice League like Marvel's Civil War but in a one of the many universes of the DC Multiverse.
One bad day is also a reference to what Frank says to Matt Murdock in DD season 2. In fact I’d reckon that that line in DD is what they are referencing with the episode title, not The Killing Joke.

The sudden ending of netflix marvel series is the dumbest decision marvel has done in the last 15 years. They were so well made, well structured and they were all organically connected, I mean I smiled when Karen showed up or when Frank ended up in Turk's car. (Glad they didnt kill him) Whatever they do in their place they won't ever be the same. They will be missed.
Hasan Aslan it wasn’t Marvel’s decision, Netflix and Marvel strongly disagreed on what path they wanted the Characters to go down. So Netflix decided to just cut ties with Marvel all together instead; worst part is that now the characters can’t be used for two years after cancellation so Luke, Matt, Danny, (probably Frank and Jessica as well) et cetera will all be gone until at least 2021.

*SPOILER* ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Another possible comic book easter egg is at the end of Episode 10 "The Dark Hearts of Men" when Frank shoots up that office in Billy Russo's warehouse and then thinks he's killed three women who he finds inside riddled with bullets. BUT we find out in Episode 11 "The Abyss" that Billy shot those women ahead of time and left them there to make Frank think he'd killed innocent people. Mexican Cartel members tried the same trick on Frank in the comic book story "Girls in White Dresses" when Punisher shoots up a bar that he was led to with cartel members and finds a little girl shot to death in the next room, who he now thinks he's just killed. But, to make sure, he digs the bullet out of her and finds out it's a different caliber than his weapons use. Needless to say, he makes the Cartel suffer for what they did.
I was so confused in the show, the police would've obviously done ballistics tests on the bullets and gun Frank had in his hand and shown it wasnt a match

I think there should be a Defenders 2 movie that includes the Punisher. The actors did excellent jobs portraying their characters, especially Cox, Bernthal, and Ritter, that are Hollywood material. Having an action-packed movie with a concise and deep story would be a great way to finish Marvel Netflix. Maybe this time the antagonists could be an army set up by Kingpin or Bullseye and a team of villains.
The one bad day reference was probably more of a reference to his line in season two of Daredevil when he told Daredevil when tied to a roof that he is just one bad day away from being me.
John Pilgrim is based on a Character called the Mennonite in Jason Aarons Punisher Max Run. Do your research! Even their fight was inspired by their fight from the comics. Jon Bernthal even states that in an interview.... Dayum.
**SPOILER** One easter egg that they missed in Season 2 was Frank thinking he'd shot those prostitutes after opening fire on that office on the 2nd floor, not knowing they were dead already. The whole thing being set up by Russo to break him emotionally. It mirrored a scene in a Punisher graphic novel that came out in 2009 called "Girls in White Dresses" where Frank was tracking down a Mexican drug cartel that had been kidnapping women and using them to work in their drug labs before killing them. They leaked the location of a bar where the cartel would be after planting the body of a little girl they'd shot to death beforehand, then opening fire on the Punisher, causing him to shoot back. Frank finds the body of the little girl thinking he'd shot her by accident. He eventually figures out what really happened and...well, you can guess the rest :) Jigsaw turns out to be behind the whole thing in that comic too.
I liked the fact that he told to karen page she better should go with matt murdock it's like a small mention of daredevil series i'm glad until.that moment they're doing pretty well in their lives :')
The punisher is so much fun to watch, I can't get into the others. I would love to see more Marvel cameos though. Especially from the powerful super heroes... it'd make a good dynamic.

If you watch season 2 episode 1, the scene where Frank meets the kid playing with his toys as he is trying to leave the bar womens house, if you look closely at the backpack hanging on chair, you can see its a Bat man bag

NOBODY! Noticed when frank stole one of the vans (don’t remember episode, gonna go back and find exact time) he found a toy version of Thor’s hammer, kinda like a key chain and just looks at it and throws it in the back. I’ve looked all over to see if anyone else caught it but no one has mentioned it yet.
I instantly noticed the "One bad day" from the episode. out of all of the Joker quotes that I've heard (or read) over the years that one stuck with me the most
i don't get emotional with films and tv shows, i've seen way to many. however, my throat got clogged a number of times during the last few episodes of this. when john tells frank to leave his boys alone at the end, frank remembering his family while in hospital, remembering the laughs and frank telling the kid at the bus stop that sometimes you find something amazing, those moments broke me. jon bernthal should be showered in accolades, his characterisation of frank is one of the best performances in history of tv imo. being able to be so absolutely stone cold and yet at the same time get your throat clogged up. i pray that disney continues the series with jon.
Dumb and cheesy?! I’m sorry that was the best part of the whole season. I wish they did more moments like that with frank this season. Season 1 was better. But daredevil season 2 was the best for frank.
So! Fun fact I’ve read somewhere at some point in time: In The Winter Soldier, you see a Penske truck twice in the movie. I think both times you see them someone dies. If I’m remembering what I read correctly both times the trucks were driven by the Punisher.

As a lot of others have pointed out before me, the one bad day thing is a nod to a line from daredevil season 2 when franks says to daredevil that" you're one bad day away from becoming me." considering Medani in that scene is contemplating using Frank's way to deal with Russo, it makes more sense the title is a reference to that line.
Did anyone else notice the Harley Quinn/ Joker dynamic early on in the season or the huge helping of foreshadowing with the window. Great season though.
The Battle Van isnt seen again at the end of season 2. Its just a plain black Ford F-150 he's sitting in. As you can clearly see when he retrieves his killing supplies from the bed.

The whole point was Russo going from a handsome womanizer with psychopathic tendencies to a fully insane villain . They set it up so well and had a great cliffhanger only to completely fuck it up for season 2 😀😀

Greg Gerba he definitely is, i loved the Mennonite. I look at it as a way to modernize it and ground it in reality with brass knuckles instead of a hammer and also not to piss off any religious groups, I think they did a great job with John his character was so complex I was rooting for him just as much as Frank

Netflix isnt the one you gotta worry about its Marvels new Owner Disney. And as far as i recall Punisher season 2 did only get released because Netflix finalized the negotiations with Marvel before disney began withdrawing all the Marvel material from it.

Netflix wanted daredevil Luke cage and iron fist just for next seasons 6-8 episodes Disney said no changes then Netflix decided to cancel it because, of they don't get new subscriber from the show.

I think there should be a Defenders 2 movie that includes the Punisher. The actors did excellent jobs portraying their characters, especially Cox, Bernthal, and Ritter, that are Hollywood material.
Having an action-packed movie with a concise and deep story would be a great way to finish Marvel Netflix. Maybe this time the antagonists could be an army set up by Kingpin or Bullseye and a team of villains.

John Pilgrim is based on a Character called the Mennonite in Jason Aarons Punisher Max Run. Do your research! Even their fight was inspired by their fight from the comics. Jon Bernthal even states that in an interview.... Dayum.

**SPOILER**
One easter egg that they missed in Season 2 was Frank thinking he'd shot those prostitutes after opening fire on that office on the 2nd floor, not knowing they were dead already. The whole thing being set up by Russo to break him emotionally. It mirrored a scene in a Punisher graphic novel that came out in 2009 called "Girls in White Dresses" where Frank was tracking down a Mexican drug cartel that had been kidnapping women and using them to work in their drug labs before killing them. They leaked the location of a bar where the cartel would be after planting the body of a little girl they'd shot to death beforehand, then opening fire on the Punisher, causing him to shoot back. Frank finds the body of the little girl thinking he'd shot her by accident. He eventually figures out what really happened and...well, you can guess the rest :) Jigsaw turns out to be behind the whole thing in that comic too.
I liked the fact that he told to karen page she better should go with matt murdock it's like a small mention of daredevil series i'm glad until.that moment they're doing pretty well in their lives :')
The punisher is so much fun to watch, I can't get into the others. I would love to see more Marvel cameos though. Especially from the powerful super heroes... it'd make a good dynamic.

NOBODY! Noticed when frank stole one of the vans (don’t remember episode, gonna go back and find exact time) he found a toy version of Thor’s hammer, kinda like a key chain and just looks at it and throws it in the back. I’ve looked all over to see if anyone else caught it but no one has mentioned it yet.

I instantly noticed the "One bad day" from the episode. out of all of the Joker quotes that I've heard (or read) over the years that one stuck with me the most

i don't get emotional with films and tv shows, i've seen way to many. however, my throat got clogged a number of times during the last few episodes of this. when john tells frank to leave his boys alone at the end, frank remembering his family while in hospital, remembering the laughs and frank telling the kid at the bus stop that sometimes you find something amazing, those moments broke me. jon bernthal should be showered in accolades, his characterisation of frank is one of the best performances in history of tv imo. being able to be so absolutely stone cold and yet at the same time get your throat clogged up. i pray that disney continues the series with jon.
