Chris is such a specimen of a man, but the nose and nipple piercings really made me think he's demented. Despite Thor overlooking so much of Hemsworth's worth, this role was top-notch, finally giving him a villain to play. This film was truly so much better than what the box office numbers suggest. Damn.
I’m probably the only one who hasn’t watched this movie yet, but I can’t wait to see him in this role!!! He can play so many characters and has such a great talent for inserting comedy, so to see him in this kind of role is going to be a treat!!
@@LindasDIYbyDesignIt's been uploaded to RUclips multiple times. They recommended the movie to me just after release. Had a weird title, something like "blockbuster action movie 2024". It's worth a quick search, there appears to be loads of movies on her at the moment
He stole the show imo. Went in there with no expectations, but this movie was far better and well Chris made amazing performance. Dementus was a great villain and very entertaining. Well done Chris.
Es ist ein anderer Mensch! Jemanden, den man auch in anderen Rollen sehen möchte, den man in Talkshows interviewen möchte, aber er existiert einfach nicht. Es ist Wahnsinn!
The most interesting villain to come out in a very long time. I can rewatch this film over and over again. It’s because of Dementus! Plus the movie is just damn good!
@@jells31 I am not calling for any awards, but he did nailed it. It's a fun, over the top cult leader. He steals his scenes(because he is a cult leader needing to be the center of attention) and feels as much the main character as the actual main character. The film is solid, not ground breaking, but fun, and Chris adds a solid contribution. My issues with it are the CGI scenes, when Miller is so damn good with practical effects.
I've seen 'Furiosa' several times now and watching Chris Hemsworth's performance, not to mention that fantastic monologue at the end, is just incredible. Oscar worthy for sure. This is the one that should be best picture. As a filmmaker, it's very inspiring.
I truly think this is the best performance I've seen from you, man. The fact that you think you have him figured out from the beginning, only for the layers to progressively get peeled back on him as the story goes on, was one of my favorite aspects of the film. The voice, the physicality, and the way he constantly struggles to maintain control over his situation as he spirals out of control...amazing work! Wonderful performance!
I am not a hardcore max mad fan but I still went to watch this in the cinemas. I don't regret it. The cinematography was amazing. Each scene with Chris and Anya, you couldn't take your eyes off. They were really interesting characters.
I've always enjoyed behind the scenes stuff, learning what actors go through to create the characters and how the crew brings everything to life. I love that thought process of how you come up with Dementus's voice, especially the source of inspiration
Chris as Dementus was incredible. Maniacal, comical and distinctive. Any chance I could see Furiosa at the theatre, I went and was emotionally impacted every time. Thankful for Miller and the entire cast for enriching my life with great art. "We're in a black spiral here. We can't keep up supply. Everyone is saying they're being swindled and short-changed. Everyone is saying it's my fault. It's everyone's fault." Gosh damnit, I love this movie.
Killer, memorable movie and all the characters deserve the same praise. Really loved the watch and I look forward to a rewatch, which is unusual for me to even think about.
From the God of Thunder to the Tyrant of the Wasteland…is there nothing Chris Hemsworth can’t do? Wonderful performance as always Chris, and here’s to many more in the future! 👍👍
The Oscar campaign should get going soon. Dementus is the most iconic character I’ve ever witnessed in a theater. The pain this dude is constantly feeling and his need to project fascinates me. I wanna give him a cautious hug. Would love to see him return in a 40-Day-Wasteland-War film interacting with Max and coping with power slipping out of his fingers before going off to die. I think Dark Dementus and Mad Max are very similar men with different coping mechanisms.
Elsa Pataky looked gnarly in the movie! I just googled her and was surprised at how stunning she is. Makeup and special FX team did amazingly on this movie
She played two roles in Furiosa. One was the gnarly-looking member of Dementus' gang, and the other was one of the Vuvalini who helped Furiosa's mother chase down Furiosa's kidnappers at the beginning of the movie.
Such a shame more people didn’t see this movie theatrically, but I hope everyone involved is proud of the finished product! I loved this almost as much as Fury Road!
I initially did not recognize him and that speaks for the performance! For the first time ever I thought he wasn´t some boring action and Thor actor but actually someone to be taken seriously in his work.
George miller seems like such an awesome director man. So enthusiastic, and absolutely loves when his actors suggest something. 100% support from him. Awesome to see.
such an amazing movie and amazing cast, breath was taken away and I wish I could watch it again for the first time. Thank you Chris for showing us your talent and everyone involved! 1000/10
Your acting performance during those final scenes of your character was actually very impressive. It was 100% authentic, like honestly, you were approaching Marlon Brando - Apocalypse Now levels, I'm not kidding. Great acting mate.
The fact that you have familial ties to this franchise in itself is amazing 👌 also, I love that this movie showcases motorcycle Chariot racing that Australian riders developed even further 👍
Chris... you smashed it.... Not at one point in the movie did I think "this is chris, the guy playing Thor..." ... I honestly think, this is your performance on this the next gen... you most def showed yourself.. you can ACT!!! For sure one of my top 3 performances this year, so far! damn you are good!
the scene where dementis captures them both, the entire sequence, is such a brilliant BRILLIANT scene. Never before was i both rooting a guy to survive, hated the bad guy, had tears in my eyes, as well as goosebumps. Seeing how this scene came together, and it being the second scene you guys did. phenomenal.
The moment you came on screen and I saw the nose and heard the voice. I had trouble going along with it. But, when he became Red Dementus....I was fully invested. You blew me away.
You could tell from watching all of his ,behind-the-scenes footage from the avengers to Thor, he’s always dancing and having fun while he works his craft. he has a beautiful spirit. You could tell he has a beautiful soul. He’s always dancing. . He’s truly amazing . And his wife in real life is the girl with the slashed mouth. Elsa pataky
i really liked this movie, and in my opinion, one of Chris' best performances.
Even better than Extraction, and thats saying alot.
It was. The final scenes in the desert were some of the best dramatic work I've seen from him, or any actor in an 'action' role.
it was cool to see him be the bad guy
Agreed. I really believe he deserves award nominations, as someone who doesn’t complete hate that stuff.
Vacation wasn’t bad 😂
I absolutely loved the visual changes that Dementus goes through in the film while also claiming new titles every time.
And how his cape evolves
And how is cape evolves

Loved his performance in this movie. George Miller is a genius.

I kind of thought Chris was a 'flat' actor in term of dynamic. Really did not expect this perfomance, he nailed Dementus, enjoyment to watch.
