Biggie Cheese Nothing made sense in it, If you actually see Frank as "FrankenCastle" you'd probably die laughing. He looks retarded, it was just terrible
I dunno?? Frankly... I find a 60 yr old Frank Castle very terrifying. Imagine a near senior citizen Frank Castle with not many years left to live....unnerving.
Sándor In my book, that is Punisher's definitive storyline. It takes place in a world without superheroes (or maybe he somehow don't see them, I dunno) so Frank can really shine. His origin as a warrior stays rooted in Vietnam, probably the most brutal American war in recent times, and we also get all the badass villains like Billy Russo, Finn Cooley, and the beast known as Barracuda. It's probably the richest source of Punisher lore, and the showrunner stated plans to bring Kathryn O'Brien and Barracuda into the series.
I love most of the changes they made, especially making russo a longtime friend of franks and military partner it makes the feud so much deeper and personal
No, that was really boring, Russo had no motive to turn against Frank. And eventually felt sorry for Frank. Billy in the Comics was way better, more dark and ruthless. They didn’t make it work with them being friends.
Prince Ibrahim Some of the action was good, but I prefer hand to hand combat like in Daredevil. Many episodes felt like filler and slow paced. 2-8 especially. Disregarding those episodes, it was pretty good. I feel like it could’ve been 10 episodes to make it faster paced. I’ve noticed that with Punisher, some find it extremely good, while like me find it kinda boring. I may have to watch it again to refresh my memory.
I don't expect civilians to know this, but in the comics Frank was an 0311 rifleman in the Marines. Here, not only is he an Officer instead of an enlisted Marine, he's a Force Recon Marine, as opposed to a regular rifleman in the infantry.
Another noticeable difference is Frank's demeanor when he goes "punishing". Frank in the comics acts like a stoic, silent killer. In the MCU, Frank yells like a maniac. *AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH*
Johnny Fountains nah the series is better because it shows a humane side of frank other than the one sided ruthless killer frank we see in the comics. Then again everyone’s entitled to an opinion and that’s mine
giftofgab247 Netflix punisher gives more of a human feel to the character it would be boring to see a dude with no emotions killing dudes and calling it a day

Nathan Minnich The construction workers steal from some sort of mob, I don't see why they would bother writing them into the show if they weren't going to be important at some point.
What I love about the Netflix Punisher is we see how deep his PTSD is. He's not just a fleshy Robocop; you see how big a toll the war put on his mind and his family being killed pushing him over the edge. He's a badass, but no one you'd ever wanna sit next to on the bus.
Jigsaw is military trained in this. In the comics, he's a thug. Then, he gets his head smashed against a glass window. THEN, he trains himself to Frank's level. Also, he's much bulkier in the comics.
Re: #1, honestly the Punisher/Micro relationship was arguably the best part of the show. Now, I liked the show overall, but at the same time, I'd be okay if we never saw Frank in the MCU again. His story is over now. Let the man have some peace.
they did a great job adapting my dude frank at least within the constraints of a show and it actually making him into more of a human. i watched 4 times and the clips numerous. that says it all. they sure flipped the switch on season 2 very quickly so im very happy to see where they go from here. shows in good hands. and you couldnt have a better guy playing him than bernthal. loved jane and i think he just suffered from the writing and direction. if he had a chance in his younger days he would have been great to see in something like this aswell. dirty laundry was a good send off.
The Russo brothers, who are directing Infinity War said there are going to be a lot of surprise appearances, so who knows, Frank may kill some of Thanos' army in NYC or something like that.
I think if Bullseye kills Karen In DDS3 That will be Punisher call back to action and help DD take down Fisk and Bullseye(though not a fan of that romance, it would be a shame on Marvel if they don’t make good use of it)
I dont mind small changes but they never should make what happens to his family something intended to happen. Its the randomness of the violence what makes Frank to realize how the good people are less than dirt to the eyes of the criminals.
i want to see more of the punisher skull. i would also like for them to showcase what an unstoppable force he is too. he is great in the show but i feel like he takes too big of a beating for a comic book character.
Why aren't the Netflix Marvel series aware of the events caused by Thanos? The galaxy and universe was in danger! Punisher needs another film. Hope Kevin Fiege is involved, since he was a producer of the 2004 Punisher film.
Punisher Max was thought to be canon. But, since the events of Secret Wars 2015. Every alternate universe is canon and everything interconnects to the main marvel universe since then. 2099 may be the one and real future of the main marvel universe. Since it's introduction in 1939.
Another key difference is that he’s a loner in the comics, and he believed no other woman could surpass Maria. In season 2, he tries to move on with a single mother. Sure, in the comics he would have a one night stand once in a while. That doesn’t mean that should have been included at the start of season 2!
Jon Bernthal's Punisher in the TV series is the most inaccurate one. He looks nothing like the Punisher, acts NOTHING like him. More like a more violent version of Jason Bourne than The Punisher. Thomas Jane and Ray Stevenson did it better.

One critique I have with the series is how he dealt with Anvil soldiers. Sure most of the kills were in self defence, but they weren't in on his family's death, or even knew anything about what was going on. They were just hired soldiers who could have thought they were doing a legitimate job.

They hated that old man so much they shot him through my family. The world went crazy on a summer's day in Central Park, In the time before Uzi's and Beretta's , before nine millimetre popguns ruled the streets. It was a Thompson, like the ones our fathers carried, and I recognized its rattle even as its big, man-stopping forty-fives punched blood and breath from my lungs. I hit the ground besides my daughter. She's been gut-shot, badly, and when she saw the things that boiled and wriggled from her belly the expression on her face was not a little girl's. My wife bled out later on the operating table, her heart a gaping hole her life drained through. Whenever I get careless, that yearning in her eyes creeps up and brings me to my knees. Right then the old man's soldiers started shooting back. My son dropped wordlessly, without a mark on him. I took a breath that cut like glass, spat blood, rose to my knees, picked up the boy and searched in vain for entry wounds. The bullet had entered through his open mouth. That was our picnic in the park. And now every night I go out and make the world sane.
I like the show but I just don’t like Bernthal’s look as Punisher. I wish they would’ve tapped Thomas Jane to return. He looks the part and did a fan film awhile back proving he could do merciless Punisher VERY well
So bad we'll never see a crossover with the MCU character because they are so different but yet they live in the same universe, so i guess Frank got snapped by Thanos along with the defenders huh
Billy Russo was at the head of his family's murder as its written in Punisher: Year One, and Micro in the show is very similar to Micro in the comics during the late 80s where he loses weight just before the start of War Zone. Also in the original origin of Microchip and the Punisher comics that follow, its his son Junior that's murdered not his nephew. Not even sure where you're getting that info from and unless there was a modern retelling then you need to get your facts straight.
Watch frank make a cameo in the new spideerman movie cuz he thinks spiderman is a villain for murdering Mysterio. they are remaking the punisher series in disney+ and we know punisher is canon in the mcu after daredevil appeared in nwh
It's too bad the show is so boring, This should've been the most exciting series on TV. Instead we have Frank eating cereal and melodrama with side characters.
Jon bernthal and the series are good only for people who didn't read the comics.Being emotionless and killing machine is ny whole point. Also Jon is a screaming wimpy midget.
The punishers morality for enemies, the pinishers weaponry, the punishers storline, and the show punisher had way too much talking instead of how its supposed to be
#1 Biggest Difference : Not anywhere near enough action during each episode compaired to the comics, they focus way too much on bullshit side stories and romances. Hopefully future seasons remedy that or I lose interest and stop watching.

Unfortunately it took 10 episodes before the punishing began. Much too long.
If it was nonstop killing the show would suck and make Frank one dimensional
It took 10 episodes before the skull appeared. The action was always there.
giftofgab247 your not a punisher fan at all if you think franks character is “one dimensional” bro sure his character isn’t as complex as characters like Deadpool or daredevil but still he’s definitely not one dimensional
@@whenunutandshekeepsuckin6976 You're right. Propably he not read most of comicbooks of Punisher.
Piotr Angelus yep
I don't know why people have anything against the punisher, I think they should make another movie with John bernthol as the punisher
is it crazy that the Netflix series punisher is my favorite? Bernthal is a bad ass
Wayne Knight in punisher war zone was a far superior Micro.
He is a different version of the punisher plus this is before he was doing it for ten years he’s not as cold hearted
I like the show but I just don’t like Bernthal’s look as Punisher. I wish they would’ve tapped Thomas Jane to return. He looks the part and did a fan film awhile back proving he could do merciless Punisher VERY well
They left out the part of the comics where Microchip is killed by a rocket blast.
3:08 I literally just called him “pretty boy” in my mind
Garth Ennis's run on Punisher is the quintessential Frank. Violent and focused. Netflix he's a wuss.
Is it me or can Ben Barnes ( billy Russo ) pull off a live action version of Alex mason from the call of duty games 🤔
I like almost every change
So bad we'll never see a crossover with the MCU character because they are so different but yet they live in the same universe, so i guess Frank got snapped by Thanos along with the defenders huh
I can’t help but think of Shane of the walking dead when I see the punisher
i loved the tv show! i think it was the best from all the marvel netflix shows.
Not even sure where you're getting that info from and unless there was a modern retelling then you need to get your facts straight.
killed my viewing joy with a huge spoiler for the series. thanks a lot
Watch frank make a cameo in the new spideerman movie cuz he thinks spiderman is a villain for murdering Mysterio. they are remaking the punisher series in disney+ and we know punisher is canon in the mcu after daredevil appeared in nwh
Is that raser Ramon in comic??
One of my favourite series ever
Pete castlegione is a free man
Punisher is not a free man
Okay but what does this have to do with fact that J Coles album went double platinum with no features
Curtis is also Black! woah so Deep and Inclusive XD
Punisher was kinda slow and had some bleh episodes but the actions and character development was awesome
The punishers morality for enemies, the pinishers weaponry, the punishers storline, and the show punisher had way too much talking instead of how its supposed to be
Nathan Minnich Talking instead of action
You forgot one difference
The Punisher is bald in the tv series and in the comics he is not bald
What are you talking about???
What??
You are crazy. He's not bald you must be thinking of another show
As long as it captures the same tone I'm fine with it.
He's also not nearly as ruthless as he was in the comics.
#1 Biggest Difference : Not anywhere near enough action during each episode compaired to the comics, they focus way too much on bullshit side stories and romances. Hopefully future seasons remedy that or I lose interest and stop watching.
Relentless action is tiring
