Prime time Owen never scored 20 league goals or 29 all competion goals in his entire career and he won the most underserved ballon d'or in football history.
I remember first seeing him, and he looked so young as if he was a 12 yr old. Then you noticed his speed. In a chase, he would get to the ball first and quickly shoot. The ball was in the net, before the keeper even moved.
From my personal experience: most of guys I have met with the face similar to Owen are humble and kind. Other than f’ball im convinced that M. Owen is an exceptional character in English f’ball.
1998 🏴 England Argentina world cup i was 11 years old i remember 2 this day the ball through 2 owen the best first touch anyone has ever seen took him frim just past alf way line 2 ouof box an left them defenders behind then that touch an finish was an Always will be the goal that i will remember most ov all even if we did get robbed after the header we scored got ryled out legend should ov stayed put once again another player that got injured an fizzled out wat a player though image him playing now with players like saka an Bellingham 🎉
And Hoddle said he "wasn't a natural finisher" he was absolutely a natural finisher. Calm enough to only do enough to get it over the line like all the bestfinishers. Also, he scored the best penalty I've ever seen in the Argentina 98 game after his wondergoal.
As a partnership, "NO". Individually "MAYBE", but I would say there are many others that I would challenge your statement with for example; Matt Le Tissier, Fowler, Cole, King Kev, Shearer, etc.......
@@dbodbdbodb7174 never said as a partnership mate I’m stating these are the best two talents in the striker position I’ve seen. And I get the players you are naming but Rooney and Owen where doing it in the Prem for big clubs from a young age whereas I don’t think the guys you’ve mentioned where destroy teams as teenagers they become more experienced and got better with age but they are amazing players as well.
@@cjsiege6331 I beg to differ, all the players I mentioned above did it at big clubs in the top league as teenagers, plus not to mention all of them played in the I'll break your leg era.
@@dbodbdbodb7174 Le Tissier was at Southampton they are not a big club, Keegan joined Liverpool in his early 20,s (not a teenager), Shearer wasn’t tearing up the league as a teenager he was at Southampton at the time, Fowler is the only one who played for a big team as a teenager but only 2 of the years out of the 8 he spent at Liverpool he was a teen and he wasn’t lighting up the prem.
He won the Ballon d’or, just remember that, He didn’t win the World Cup he didn’t win the European cup He hadn’t won the league and he won the ballon d’Or let that sink in, young Owen was better than young Rooney, Never did I think that we was going to beat Brazil with Rooney in the team that day we almost beat Brazil in the World Cup with Owen in the team, a primetime Brazil aswell
Bar injuries Mike was as good as messy and Ronaldo and I hate saying it because he played for the scum that kid at Liverpool he was the best in the world for two year YNWA
He won the treble in 2000/2001 era then balonndor then he won the league with many utd 11 years later being mainly a sub he wasn’t a one season thats abit of a stretch on my part but he was definitely over rated after 1998 to 2001 he only won a couple trophies in 11 years after that so yeah he is over rated if you go by stats
He was unreal I can’t lie. Different class to players like foden and saka however good they are now
Difference is Owen wad a striker not a winger so not really fair comparison
Yeah everyone buzzes of haaland but imagine a michael owen in that city team
@@delbarker8095 not taking about goals or assists. Just how good a player he was
@@taylormade2826 it’d be 35 every season. Though I always think if Gary Lineker was in that city team it’d genuinely be unfair
An honour as a liverpool fan watching him at his best
Micheal Owen was the reason why i fall in love with football and i supported Liverpool until now even after he leaves..he was phenominal then ❤❤❤
That hand rubbing celebration was deadly. Like him telling us he’s just getting warmed up
He was phenomenal.
Prime Time Owen was A Beast
Halland wouldnt lace his boots
Prime time Owen never scored 20 league goals or 29 all competion goals in his entire career and he won the most underserved ballon d'or in football history.
Even after his injury and he lost his pace he still played at the top on his finishing alone
OG will never forget Owen 😊
Owen might be the only English teenager who was more feared than Rooney.
And that's not a small feat at all.
Yep
It’s true. I remember watching him score his first goal for Liverpool. He scored like he was doing it every week
Yeah I was there, Wimbledon vs Liverpool we were all like who’s this kid coming on? He just looked like he’d been playing a lot longer than he had 👍🏼
people forget how good he was

Im a celtic fan and remember Owen and Mcmanaman scoring against us at celtic park in 97. Absolutely loved and adored both players.
Nobody can love and adore McManaman more than McManaman himself
Near, can’t even lace his boots!

My favourite English player of all time. ❤
There was a period he was just unreal. Fowler however is the most naturally gifted striker I'll ever see
He was a fenomeno Wayne Carr on his VHS TAPE so that’s all I care about
Spot on
Unbelievable player best English youngster other than Rooney
Rio knows his stuff he was pure class❤
Rio talks from the heart as a lover of football. The way it should be.
He talks pure dog💩 most of the time. Even here comparing Owen to Foden and Saka who are wingers ffs. Blokes a joker😂
FACTS, none of these young players get near MO (not Saka, not Foden, not Palmer). The man was unstoppable before his hamstrings snapped.
Injuries done him in man him and van nistelrooy was the two at Omer’s I loved growing up
Yeah I’m a Utd fan and prime Owen was a monster Rio ain’t wrong

As a young United fan at that time, we used to pretend to be Owen playing footy on the streets
Owen was everything Rio is saying & MORE but Robbie Fowler was the KING of Anfield he just wasn’t given the Time & RESPECT he DESERVED 🪯💯💪🏾🇬🇧(🥃🥃)
Total agree
100% agree
People talk about Gerrard carrying an average Liverpool team for years. Owen played in an even weaker team.
That's a bad take
I know, England were proper shite back then
Nah

He should never have left Liverpool for Madrid, biggest mistake of his career and he would probably agree
I wish he chose liverpool over Newcastle
Rooney and Owen best strikers England have ever produced.

Haaland is 24 years old and has 41 champions league goals Owen only got 14 in his whole career …levels Rio levels son🤣🤣🤣
Everton fan....Owen🤦🏻🧨🤯

The fact he won the balon d'or was a joke. Raul should have won it by a mile
And today everyone calls him stoke city's legend. What a shame that he ruined his own career by saying those bad things.
Owen was an out and out striker.. how you comparing him to foden and saka?
Should of stayed at Liverpool
But Liverpool did not win the league in his era.
Depressing, sad music pish

Saka and Foden are not strikers
Should of stayed at Liverpool an stayed a club legend. Instead he chose to warm yhe real madrid bench and sully his remaining legacy joining the scum
So overrated!!!
Typical Rio with his rose-tinted over the top nonsense..
Defo better than halland
