Next time compare UX 300 vs RAV 4, want to see which is better
Do you know when the TX550h+ plug-in will be available? Second quarter of 2025?
My sister was going to buy another RAV 4, then she drove my 2024 NX 350h, and now she has a beautiful 2025 NX hybrid!
How much did your sister pay for the 2025
@@waynebarnes1369 More than my 2024 - $53,000. It has the bigger wheels(which I don't have), but does not have heads-up display, which I have. The price seems to have gone up a bit.
I’m petite and handicapped - I definitely prefer the coupe height aspect of the NX. It would be easier for me to get in and out of the car. SUVs can be difficult to get into. It’s a small detail, but an important one for me.
$53k for the NX 350h? Which RAV4 model was she planning to buy? I'm looking to buy a RAV4 and am now wondering if the price difference of the NX is worth it to me.
@@theotheleo6830 personally I think you should get NX if you’re looking for something long-term and reliable they’re both great cars, but eventually the flimsy quality of the Toyota interior and exterior looks will get kick in, and you’re gonna wish that you spent a few more extra bucks to get “premium looking quality for more formal occasions, and better ride quality especially if it’s going to be your only car long term.
I had a 2015 Rav 4. I had to get rid of it because of Pistons problems and I needed a new engine.
I do like the new Rav 4 , however, it looks rather rugged to me .
So I decided on the NX350h because it is more luxurious, feels sporty, and personal. I made the best decision because I'm single, 60 and this will carry me throughout my retirement.
Lexus cars are just way more reliable. Stick with Lexus all the time. Toyota cars are flimsy and garbage.
We compared them both and bought a 2024 NX350h.
What’s the reason?
How much more did you pay for the Lexus?
@@agpawpaw5912 Lexus is simply more appealing looks and feels wise. They’re pretty much the same price point and if you can get it at a discount, it’s better just to get the NX at some point driving a Toyota you’re gonna wish you had a more upgraded appeal to it, making you feel more premium and solid. Especially when driving for more formal occasions, more compliments too from passengers.
@agpawpaw5912 I got the Rav4 Premium. I LOVE it. I have one child and am expecting an LO 2025, so the space is needed. If I was single, I would have gotten the Lexus for the style and Panorama roof. The Rav4 Premium gives me a whole lot more technology, spare tire, space in truck for less than the Lexus. Both are great but choose the one for your lifestyle. Also Lexus has a smoother ride.
Not h f sport that stands for hybrid
The smile on her face while she was driving the whole time says it all 😄
Proud owner of RAV 4, 2023 XLE here. Amazing SUV, we like it so much, strongly recommend vehicle 😊. P.S. you two should consider to make more videos like THIS is great segment and you are impressive together.
Thanks for the great feedback!! We have a few more videos planned soon!
Lexus is always the winner, always. That RAV4 is cheap, flimsy, and unreliable. So, it's Lexus all the way. Reliability wins.
The NX looks nice but I rather save over $10k and get a spare tire and non run flat tires and also get a bigger SUV.
The RAV4 wins all around!!!!
Yup, we just did exactly that - £20k difference in the UK though!
Not a chance! The Rav-4 is extremely loud inside compared to literally any Lexus product. Silence is golden!
I'd rather hear what the engine is doing, it's part of the driving experience.
Spare tire is the winner for me and my family. Don't want to wait for service on a Sunday afternoon or in the middle of nowhere.
@@guppy360so put sound deadning in it
Great video! I love both, I had a RAV4 and I can say it’s a great car. But now I have a NX350H and of course the upgrade to luxury it’s just awesome. You can’t go wrong with any of these.
Thank you so much for doing this video! I actually love that you have real salespeople in these to go over the features, instead of watching just some youtuber. Cheers from Florida!
That's great feedback thank you!!! I do notice we sometimes touch on a few things that other RUclipsrs might miss!
I have the NX and my mom has the Rav 4. Both luxurious, safe and fun to drive.
The CarCareNut is an expert mechanic specializing in Toyota/Lexus. They share many platform similarities and Toyota quality is superb. However he states Lexus bumps quality up another notch. They have much superior insulation and ride dampening. Obviously the interior is more plush. But they often share much of the same drivetrains and engines as their Toyota counterpart, making servicing and long term maintenance simpler and cheaper than most luxury brands.
This vid is a good comparison of the interior, tech, and ride differences
The interior of the NX is where it outshines the RAV4. You can’t get a 14” display and Mark Levinson speakers in a RAV4. NX has better color seats to choose from. More horsepower!
I compared the NX PHEV and RAV4 Prime. I got the prime because of extra tow, higher clearance, use regular fuel, spare tire and much cheaper insurance. 😅
for crying out loud, why is 2025 you need to clock a button to lock and unlock the door. This should be walk up and away feature
NX if have the money
Well, being cheap ain't good because if you buy the RAV4, it's cheaper, yes, but it's unreliable and it's garbage and won't last long and pretty flimsy. So for me, I would go with the Lexus all the way. Yes, it's way more expensive, but guess what? It's quality, reliable, it's very good. I'll take the expensive one. Being cheap is not good.
@@americanboy48why are you trolling on multiple comments? Toyota is one of the most reliable brands on the market. So is Lexus. Lexus is simply the luxury line of Toyota. Both incredibly reliable.
more states need to get rid of having the front plate requirement
Excellent comparison review. I think you both need to fight it out with the Highlander and RX next!!
I like rav4 exterior and nx interior
I test drove both And chose the nx350h. The premium was not thst much more expensive than the limited. The ride was just more refined than the rav 4
Not gonna lie, I much prefer the more rugged exterior styling of the RAV4. But I'd take the superior Lexus interior any day though. RAV4 exterior + NX interior = my dream car. 😍
Sounds like you need a GX
Yeah I’m thinking the same thing
Yes, and keep ravs trunk
Lexus versus Toyota is kind of like an iPhone Pro versus the base model.
I had so much fun watching this video, more like this please!
Very interesting! My wife bought a 2022 RAV4 hybrid, and later in the year, I traded in my Toyota Avalon for an NX 350h (hybrid). We have a bit of a competitive attitude about our vehicles. The RAV4 does hold more cargo and gets slightly better mileage. (Both have excellent mileage.) Toyota's JBL stereo isn't that good. It's artificially "boomy" by exaggerating the entire bass range. The Mark Levinson stereo totally blows that away! Natural, dramatic, and vastly better low bass! (The more base model stereo available in both is really not very good.) I hate the run flat tires and lack of a spare on the NX, but I had Michelin CrossClimate tires put on right when I bought my NX, and bought an aftermarket spare. Lexus really sabotaged North American customers by making it impossible to put a spare under the cargo floor. (They actually make parts for holding a spare under the cargo floor for the European customers.) My last Toyota Avalon had the bird's-eye-view monitor and the heads-up display. The latter is even better in my Lexus. I will never buy another vehicle without that! I'm 67, so this may turn out to be my last vehicle purchase.
Is the trunk space just less wide on top or is it shorter and/or thinner too?
I have NX as a taxi here in Salo, Finland. I have teach customers, how to open the door. I taped green tape to the opening point. ”You just press that green button and open the door.” BUT, customers think, that you don’t have to PUSH that door at all! So, I have to tell them also: ”And push same time”.
You two are amazing. Great chemistry. All the fun of a broadcast TV show. Shot well too. Just need to reduce the echo when your mics pick up one another. Take more time with the audio editing. And add more cutaway shots of what you two are talking about.
Thanks so much for that feedback! It was both of our first time sharing the spotlight like that!
Rav4 just makes sense. Can't go wrong.
The Toyota Venza is more comparable to the NX. Love my 2023 Venza. Toyota isn’t shipping the Venza over here after 2024 but they are still producing it in Japan as a Harrier. I think the Venza is too close to the NX so they decided to discontinue it here even though they said they are replacing it with the Crown lineup. 😢
Yeah, i compared nx hybrid / venza and got venza last year. I felt nx is a bit smaller in interior. But they are both quieter and have really good quality materials than rav4. I really like my venza, but sadly toyota will discontinue venza in us. 😂
I like the NX but I'd skip the fsport package with all that shiny black, it will never look as good as when you pull it off the showroom floor
Loved the reviews.
Hope you guys do something like this again.
Yes the RAV4 is everywhere on the road I never missed it one day 😂
I have the 2024 Rav 4 limited hybrid and definitely better than the non hybrid since I test rode both as well as the nx 350 hybrid. The Lexus is a luxury ride but not worth the 8k more to me
Aweome video! Your passion for these vehicles really shines through! 👏
Thanks so much Lindsay!!!! Much more to come!!!
If the 11th digit of your VIN is a C, it was built on the exact same assembly line as the RAV4, in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.
Good luck finding either at a dealership. The 5k difference is minimal and the Lexus would be better resale
I drive the rav4 5 days a week, various models xle, limited.I have driven the nx twice now.Hands down much more quiet, smooth ride
Love it! Very entertaining. Wouldn’t swap my NX 450h+ for anything! Just love it
He makes both cars look smaller because of how tall he is.
Gotta get a 4K camera to record ! Great video as always !
I go for RAV4 Prime XSE Technology
I feel Lexus guy helping rav sales lady 😅
In Europe we have panoramic roof for Rav4. Ours are also made in Japan
The prime would be a better comparison
I think a NX 250 to RAV-4 comparison would be a better match-up.
That said, I’d go for the RAV-4 to get the same size of vehicle for a lower price. RAV-4 limited is essentially a luxury vehicle, anyway.
I looked at the clearance at 2:00 minutes in and choose the rav4 (i livd in rougher terrain)
IMO Lexus F-Sport is a dumb added expense. The bigger wheels and stiffer suspension work against the excellent ride quality Lexus is known for. Lexus isn't a performance sports car brand, they are a luxury car with a plush quiet ride and isolation from the road. F Sport makes for a rougher noisier experience.
A more appropriate comparison would be between the NX hybrid and the Toyota Venza. Even the top trim RAV4 Limited is no where near the premium feel of the Venza. Venza competes with the NX
Points off for not using a Rav 4 Hybrid
Nx interior and seats is better, but previous generation has even better seats. Does it worth 11K extra? Smaller trunk. Bumping head in tailgate. Stiffer ride. No spare tire. I don’t remember when last time I got flat due to nail, but last year on low profile tires I pinch twice, so what you are going to do with repair kit? That not going to fix it. Good if you have friend with rav4, so he will bring you his spare tire to get home
Nice - what camera ? What mount? Thanks.
good job guys! really interesting comparison and nice feedback from both of you on the feeling while driving each car
Lexus is best for advance tech performance comfort of driving.
Satisfying looks and ride.
But if you are on budget rav is good.
They are both reliable.
I have Lexus and Toyota.
For daily drive work shopping parties, I use Lexus
For long distance drive and exploration Toyota. Off road rough road.
Why the economy and the damage😁
They are both good for long
distances.
Reliable
Lexus is fuel efficient but because of more power too much tech function.
Not good for energy consuming.
Because of Toyota simplicity tech which I like.
Not complicated if your are in a long journey.
Unpopular opinion: Dustin never leaves the house without a suit
Why would that be unpopular?
I traded in my Ra4 Hybrid Limited for an NX 350H
Lexus for sure. All the time and forever.
Rav4 all day long and twice on Sunday's 💪
In the UK: tested Rav 4 Excel, Lexus NX 350h and RX 500h F Sport - We went with the Rav 4 - The Lexus's (Lexi??) were nice, but with 2 kids neither had enough space, had too much complicated tech that I'd never used and the Rav 4 just looks way better + the car theft of Lexus, Audi and BMW here is insane.
The Excel has the winter pack with headlight washers, heated wipers, puddle lights, power seats both fronts, heated wheel.
For £50k vs £70k it was a no brainer. Really lovely to drive, even on the UK's small windy roads, it handles really well.
If you actually drive more than 25 miles an hour in this video, you’ll notice a big difference as I did.. We love our ‘23 NX 350h
I wonder what Dustin would say about the RAV4 Prime compared to the Lexus?
I own a 2017 Rav 4 and I'm trying to decide between the Rav 4 and Lexus NX. I'll probably buy a 2022 or 2023. This was helpful but I still don't know which one I want! :) Do you know when the next body make over is going to be on each? I hate buying one and the. next year there is a major change.
Unless they’ve removed it, the RAV4 does have a package with the panoramic sunroof.
Lexus is the best. I just bout 2024 model. It is great.
Hi Dustin, Have you noticed any difference in driving the 2025 NX vs 2024 NX? I heard there is better NVH, higher clearance and more rigid structure so it turns better. Appreciate the feed back!
Nothing changed for 2025 except one new color.
My dealer told me that model year 2025 has increased rigidity of springs and body, soundproofed wheel arches and few other minor changes. I'm living in Europe and my NX is produced in Japan. Not sure how about US market.
I think that changes will come to us in 2026
Definitely… I love mine Lexus NX 350 Fsport 3 Redline ❤ yeah 👍
I like both
TOYOTA 🙂👍
LEXUS 👌❤
Why is an aggressive looking front end important. Can't help thinking that if you want an aggressive looking car, you will drive aggressively...?
Personally, the Rav 4 exterior does not look as good as the NX. The Rav 4 looks big but it also has more road noise.
RAV 4 side mirrors do not fold, a serious omission 😢
Lexus warranty is very good, RAV4 pricing too close to NX
No issue when you have money but if not go with the Rav4. It will be a lot cheaper(maintenance and insurance, etc) if you plan to keep it for long. Also has a spare tire, which is a must have item for me. No fun getting a flat when help is hours away. As a previous Lexus owner only pro is no question ask free loaner from Lexus dealer when in service for whatever reason. Toyota, it's your own unless it's a major repair service.
You've never gotten a flat tire or had to wait hours for 'help'.
@@Mr21scott You must not go out alot. I'm a unlucky person when it comes to flat tire. I enjoy road trips to remote places. This is a big country and yes, help is hours away in many places. And many service shops in remote towns either close early and closed on weekends. 40 mile range of runflats on the Lexus won't work for me. I carry a tire repair kit and full size(not factory donut) spare tire in my 23 Rav4 and I can change tire in about 10 minutes if trunk isn't full. I also have AAA, Toyota roadside assistance for 10 years, and Garmin inreach in case no cell service. But I would rather change it myself and go on my way than wasting my time waiting for help to arrive out in nowhere or in a bad weather. Someone never had single flat in their life but I already had few. Lol.
@@matrix-fh9tn I have things in my refrigerator that have to be older than you, and I'm telling you that you've never had a flat tire and waited hours for help.
@@Mr21scott So you never seen people changing out flats on the side of the road. Get out more often. You get older staying home too long.
@@matrix-fh9tnYes it can happen, granted, I change my tyres when they’re only 1/2 worn so I hope to lessen the chances. Anyway from a personal point of view I like a full size spare tyre.
NX requires premium gasoline and Rav 4 runs on 87 octane. If you drive 30K a year, it makes a huge difference.
The NX 250 Runs on 87 octane
The 350h can run on 87 octane
Sir. Dustin Mason have a similar voice to #MrBeast 😁 When you listen to it, it's like he's promoting his games 😅
LOL I've definitely never been compared to MrBeast before but I'll take that as a huge compliment!!
NX is WAY better. picked up a 2025 350 this week
Venza XLE is the way to go.
The NX all day! It’s SO much quieter compared to ANY Toyota product. Don’t forget it’s a luxury car at the end of the day. These comparisons are really very silly. You need to compare it to other luxury cars. You are devaluing the brand by comparing it to a Toyota. Don’t give into the haters please
What's the price difference? It's obvious you're sales people and not car reviewers.
How expensive is lexus maintenance? Toyota has 2 years/25k miles no cost maintenance. How about lexus?
Premium gas required, more insurance etc..it's very reliable but if any repairs it would be more expensive than Rav4.
@@Gopinathk17350h can run on 87 octane per manual
She’s off to a bad start - corolla outsells Rav4 worldwide (though not in NA)
Wow, your driving my car 😂😂 owner of the exact same vehicle, in and out. I love mine.. Rav who??
You're you're you're you're you're you're you're you're you're you're you're
NX hands down.
Lexus all the way baby
Seems like a gentle test drive like with a salesman than a "test drive review" and no mention of the THOUSANDS of dollars difference-- apples to oranges? RUN flats are a deal breaker - optional ties ?
Boot space seems the real limit of the nx 😢
Yes the rear cargo space for sure is smaller! However still very usable!
RAV4 looks better from outside
No spare tire, needs a towing RAV spare tire no towing , RAV wins
You talk about the screens but fail to show them
If I can't see your eyes you're not selling me sh1t. And the Lexus looks better.
Are you afraid to open the hood and show us the engine. Do comparison because both engine same
NX has 20" wheels and not 19"
elecronic door handle, great another elctronic to break, a problem that never existed before.
I had a NX350H on order for over a year in Canada. I also had a Rav4 Ltd H on order for almost the same length of time. 3 price Increases on the NX and 3 model years...NO CAR SHOWED UP !
I'm driving a 23 Rav 4 Ltd H . Actual delivery time was 9 months. Lexus Canada hate their customers. They shipped them all to the US
I have a Toyota Rav 4 hybrid 2020 and it's a banana, I don't recommend nobody to buy this car, ridiculous car.
The Lexus is far nicer! Toyota must upgrade their boring interior it sucks!
She really likes this RAV-4, and overpriced Toyota, cheap cars no style with BMW price, crazy 😮
u kidding I choose Lexus more luxury inside
Subaru Forester !
That’s win for sure 2.5L but dislike 2.4 turbocharger
They have the same engine
Sometimes they do! However the NX 350 uses a turbocharged 2.4L and the Rav has a non turbo 2.5L!
Nx trunk space is too small
Comfortability 😂
