  • Welcome back to the channel
    This weeks video I show you how to replace a radiator fan on a 2019 Nissan Qashqai front wheel drive, apparently this is a common problem on the 2018 and 19 is with this particular brand of fan. So hopefully if you're out there and about to get taken advantage of you come across this video and save yourself some money. I won't say this is the easiest job in the world but it definitely can be done. Unfortunately we had no luck trying to find the fan after market as it was not in stock anywhere or available at most parts stores. If you are stuck with the dealership you will be getting the exact same part I don't think they have superseded it yet but hopefully that changes in the future. Of course I hope you find the video entertaining as well as informative. If you do please hit that subscribe button to support my work.
    As always thanks for watching we will see you in the next one...

      Yeah it's a common problem with this specific cars so most likely it's your fan. Hopefully you get a good deal on one and good luck with changing it.

    On my Kadjar, the fan is not turning freely. I suspect the poor quality of the bearing...As seen on your video,, I removed the sticker on the fan boby and found that it's a Nissan one. Same procedure, I will have to change by a new one...

    1. how do know for sure if it's the fan that needs to be replaced? Mine is not turning just as my car is about to 65000 miles. 2. That part about the battery so you don't activate the air bag. I could use little more detail about that. Fan doesn't come on when engage the AC. I still get a little bit of cold air but it doesn't last. I want to check the fuse but it is a bitch to access the panel on a 2020. HELP!

    I failed with the exchange because I couldn't find a way to loosen the lower right screw from above. How did you do it? It is inaccessible.

    • @JimmysAutoClinic
      @JimmysAutoClinic  Год назад

      The bolt that is on the driver side or left side of the vehicle down towards the bottom that is on your right while looking into the engine bay from the front? If that's the bolt that you're talking about I remember it's a royal pain in the ass. Basically I have a ratchet that I think I use in the video it is a Twist ratchet basically you twist the handle and the head of the ratchet moves. That is the ratchet that I used to get that guy to spin out as it is really a tight situation. What a wonderful design eh LOL. I hope that helps. You can look it up if you're in the United States under the Stanley brand and if you're in Canada I think Canadian Tire still sells it potentially I'm not 100% sure though because they cycle their tools every three to four years.

    Hey Jimmy, nice tutorial! Can't you remove the screws of the fan from beneath the car?
    I have the same issue with the X-Trail / Rogue, With the help of your video, I removed all components myself and took the OE part code from mine. I will change the fan when it arrives. The only issue is that I do not have a tool long enough to remove the bottom screws.

    • @JimmysAutoClinic
      @JimmysAutoClinic  Год назад

      Yes the bottom screw is a real pain in the ass. I assuming you're talking about the one that is close to where the ear box is? How I did it was from on top. I leaned over had an extension and I have a rotating ratchet that I use which I think I show in the video. And I just took my time and wound it out. It is a real pleasure lol. Not sure if you can do it from the bottom though I didn't try that. I probably must have looked and didn't see a way but give it a shot you'll get it out for sure.

    My wife’s went out 1 year ago what’s the part number on the fan you installed here

    • @JimmysAutoClinic
      @JimmysAutoClinic  4 месяца назад

      Hey my friend unfortunately I don't know the part number. What you can do is call the dealership with you the number and ask them for the part number and then you can cross reference it to see what fan will work. The dealership fan is extremely expensive.

    Why does Nissan put glass/plastic over the grill vents for the radiator? No wonder the fan blew, its starved for air.

    • @JimmysAutoClinic
      @JimmysAutoClinic  Год назад

      If I'm thinking of the right thing that you're referring to is because they want to have the car come up to operating temperature much quicker. That way it's more fuel efficient and the emissions are less. This is a common thing with many new cars it's called an active Grill or something along those lines essentially there are things that are on a motor mechanism that are generally closed. However if the fan is really crappy like in this case the lack of airflow could contribute to it dying. However I just think it's made of really crappy material and as cheaply as possible. Hopefully Nissan fixed the issue in the later years to come. I believe they have but we'll see you as time goes on.

    • @JimmysAutoClinic
      @JimmysAutoClinic  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hey my friend it is part of the airbox ducting and is most likely called an air box baffle. The best place to get the exact part name would be from Nissan just called them up with your VIN number and they can email you over a parts list diagram where you can point it out.

    • @JimmysAutoClinic
      @JimmysAutoClinic  Год назад

      It all depends. Labour rates all across Canada are different. I know in the GTA there are approximately 140 to 180 depending on the location of the dealership. As for the fan believe it was close to $700 from the dealer.

      @@JimmysAutoClinic thanks jimmy! are you able to share the nissan part number for this fan? it seems like on the nissan parts store it has been replaced by another model, but when i check if it will fit my 2018 it says it wont.

    • @JimmysAutoClinic
      @JimmysAutoClinic  Год назад

      Unfortunately I don't have the part number anymore as I threw out the fan. However if you go to the dealership with the VIN number they should be able to give you the Nissan part number which will be able to be crossed reference to the aftermarket world. I know that Valeo is the manufacturer for the fan. It was both on the one that came out and the one that went in which were both dealer products. Hopefully they've started making them for the aftermarket.
