2009 Subaru Forester | Clutch Fork Replacement | Machined Flywheel
Welcome back to the channel
In this weeks video I show you how to replace a clutch fork on a 2009 Subaru Forester with a 2.5 L single overhead cam mated to a five speed transmission. This job is definitely something that would be extremely hard to do in the driveway unless you have the know how and take the necessary safety precautions as well as watch the full length video. It is a difficult job to do and I would definitely not recommend doing it as a DIY or unless you are quite skilled. Regardless hopefully you find the video entertaining as well as insightful, if you do please hit that subscribe button to support my work.
As always thank you for watching we will see you in the next one...

My clutch fork snapped on the corner of Woodbine and Danforth. I had an aftermarket clutch which put more strain on it. Anyway I limped it home, they are prone to breaking regardless.

I used this tutorial because it was all I could find and holy fuck the amount of sifting through the dribble to reach the actual information to remove 1 nut and 6 bolts is... Too much. Also telling me to check something to "see if I'll cry" gives me 0 information about what I'm actually looking for.

I just did my daughter’s 2008 this morning. Was having difficulty removing pad out of caliper piston. Discovered that if I compressed the piston first the pad came right out. Tip of the day. Been doing brakes for over 50 years so you learn a trick or two.

Hey, fellow Canadian. I truly appreciate you as someone who owns a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3L. 😊I bought it for $1,900 three years ago and finally it's starting to show signs of issues. I think one of my spark plugs has gone bad. So glad that spark plugs can be purchased for so cheap, because I use this van to make money; as I am an UberEats, DoorDash & SkipTheDishes driver. I was devastated when my van started to act very odd with very low RPM when put into drive or reverse, sometimes even stalling out the engine the RPMs go so low. Also knocking randomly when driving, and low power output. I'll also be checking out my MAP sensor, but hope I can just clean it and put it back in without needing replacing. My engine looks just as dirty as yours does, lol. Thanks again for this great video! 🙏

that die trick is pretty sweet. I use a dremel or drill with a wire brush to clean the threads before applying penetrant myself, it really does make it so much easier when dismantling crusty old bits. this is one of the easier cars to do drop links on. I did these on our 09 Forester without even having to jack the car up, and I weigh around 300lbs so guessing probably just about anyone could get in there. always a good idea to do the bushings as well when replacing drop links. those are only rubber tasked with corralling metal and get looser over time, and often look less worn than they really are. also easily accessible on this car without having to jack it up. the worst are those drop links with round collars. I hate those so, so much. whose brilliant idea was that anyways?? allen key on the end is useless, can't withstand any torque. invites the wrath of the angle grinder.
