Hi Jimmy, question, so I noticed a little oil seeping under my 03 Corolla. It’s not dripping on the ground, but should I worry? The mechanic removed the valve cover gasket & said he’d have to remove this whole metal piece underneath that, can’t remember what it’s called, & it was pricey so I decided not to do it. He changed the oil pan gasket, but that was it. During him doing this, he broke my camshaft cap intake 4, Don’t ask me how..he replaced it with a non Toyota part. Is this ok not using an original Toyota part for this? As always, any advice is appreciated..

That's kind of an odd one. I've never had someone break a cam cap. As for the oil leak the valve cover is a popular one that leaks. The timing cover as well as a timing chain tensioner can leak and the crank seal as well as the popular one. I would probably have a mechanic other than the last one look at it and diagnose it. Hopefully you're able to get it solved if it's not dripping though I wouldn't be overly worried but it is good to know where the leak is coming from.
