I had the exact opposite impression of Liamoo, that "dragon" is more popular outside of Sweden. Favourite - Dotter. Think we should send - Jacqline. Appreciate your calm and reasonable approach. If I had a possible eurovision winner as a songwriter I wouldn't send it to melfest this year after a winning year, maybe that shows in the selection.
An engaging and well-produced collab. In my opinion, Marcus and Martinus are very likely to win. The performance has the same kind of slickness as Robin Bengtsson's and Benjamin Ingrosso's back in 2017 and 2018.

I was aware of Melfest but had never watched it until doing the watchalongs with Groot and the rest of the community. I had only watched the late late show as I'm from Northern Ireland. I'm enjoyed this years entries i love Maria Sur, Jacqueline and Dotter and I'm looking forward to the final. I enjoy Groots insight along with the banter of the community. Its something I will do in more off in the future.
Groot ushered me here, and I enjoyed this colab. I have subscribed, and will check out more. - Meanwhile I chide Groot about his attire, but he wins the wardrobe wars here, hands down. 😉
Probably one of the best summaries. The big critique of the new andra chansen is valid. Because for the first time we also had truly interesting songs in who probably would reach the final. Like Scarlet and Fröken Snusk. Both having songs that could win the whole Bonanza… so well done SVT.

Great video guys, i think this year's Melfest is really solid despite most of Eurofans opinions, the final line-up highlights that. It's just a bit unfortunate that the diversity and genre/style variety is a lot lower year by year, and them scrapping the semi-final was a beyond weird choice. I feel like no one really needed in the final the two songs that made it from Heat 5 and as Groot said very accurately, no matter who had performed in the last heat would have got the ticket. That said, i think the final would be much more fun and even more unpredictable if we got Froken Snusk and Scarlet, not only in terms of their strong performances but also of their X-factor role in the televoting scores, they would have made it super complex to predict the results and that could alter the current dynamics.
I feel M&M are winning the televote and coming Top-3 with the juries so it's safe to say they've got it in their bag. I would be very glad though if we have a surprise winner and Jacqline has the best proposal imo to justify it.
Anyway, my Top-5:
1) Dotter
2) Jacqline
3) Medina
4) Maria Sur
5) Liamoo

Though when it comes to Melodifestivalen after following the heats I am pretty disappointed with the final we ended up with. Out of the 8 songs I really liked from the heats, only one (Cazzi Opeia) made it through. Particularly bummed for my two favourites: Unga & Fria for getting just unbearably close but not making it, and Min Melodi which just got an extremely decisive last place which was totally undeserved imo.
I have Marcus & Martinus very close to that Top 8 so I would be quite satisfied with them winning given what they're up against.
This'll definitely be the side event just before FdC for me on Saturday (Though I don't expect that one to be very surprising in the results either).
No «This song just have to win» wibes. But since I am Norwegian, it is probably my duty to cheer for M&M.😊
And Smash Into Pieces is belonging to the genre Cliche Rock honestly. Both song- and lyrics wise.🤨
My favorites as a song are unforgettable and Maria Sur
And as a performance are again Marcus and Martinus and Dotter
As a song Forgettable it's just 1/3 about Air.
I personally want Maria Sur "When I'm Gone" to win, I think it's the best performance out of all the finalists. If she doesn't win, I want Marcus & Martinus "Unforgettable" to go to ESC, mostly because I'm very curious how they would transform that staging to the stage in Malmö. Jacqline is also a good choice. I'd be totally fine if any of these three won.

well for me both dotter and jacqueline are my favorite and I see her performance in eurovision buth sincerely (omg an Analissa refference 🤣🤣🤣) the winner are be the siblings but I don't like the song because is Air 2.0
On the other hand, 28 of Mello's 30 songs are in the top 200 on Spotify in Sweden. This says a lot about the success of Mellodifestivalen but it also talks about how the new playoff system was not the most successful because they left out the most listened to songs. (Froken and Gunilla), it is very certain that the Andra Chansen will return next year or they will implement a system completely different from this year's

Sweden really fumbled the bag by not sending Scarlet who had the best song and most competitive package for ESC. If you need any more proof that the final qualification round was a disaster, Fröken Snusk has been #1 on the Swedish charts for the past 4 weeks and even she couldn't advance to the final. Shame

If you want in depth songs, try look outside of Eurovision.
Why does people, mostly out of Sweden, but also Swedes, preferably the younger ones, refer to Melodifestivalen as Mel(l)fest? The show is called Melodifestivalen. Isn't it kind of odd to rename a production, a show; an institution as Melodifestivalen? Why can't you people instead of making trash of or reduce; diminish everything!, show some respect and learn how to pronounce the TV show correctly.

Jag hör dig, men jag tror inte det är så. Folk är lata och ointresserade av historik och ursprung. Allt ska gå snabbt och vara enkelt - det ska vara generellt, inget speciellt eller ha ett eget uttryck. Slarv! Jag förstår att Melodifestivalen är ett hopplöst ord och möjligen förlegat men tills SVT döper om showen så heter den faktiskt Melodifestivalen. Gud vad jag låter gammal haha@@susanneed6366
