My grandfather HATED oatmeal. After he died, Grandma had him cremated. Every time she remembered something he did that pissed her off, she'd take his urn and put it in a big tube of oatmeal.
After she died, my uncle called my mom and said he couldn't find grandpa's ashes. Mom said "Oh, she must have been mad at him again. Look in the oatmeal."

True story my first husband just died last month, on my birthday (lol) and we have kids together (who are adults now) so they were going to his funeral (with their older half brother, yes this story just keeps getting better, and to stamp it off here I was 15 when I met him and he was 27 and divorcing his first wife) so I thought about going. And I was going to go with a full face of bright makeup because he hated when I wore makeup and would accuse me of going out to meet guys and called it “whore paint”. I ended up not going but now I’m kind of wishing I did. I mean there was a good reason I left him when I did and he made very low efforts to be around our kids. Where I’m going with this is I am fully on grandma’s side here. And more power to other women who decide to show up at ex spouses funerals.
@@princessromanov im thinking of making my wedding date my ex's birthday and telling my ex and proving it, knowing he keeps trying to get back with me but was emotionally abusive and still is an jerk to me while trying to get me back lol and sometimes showing up, uninvited to my house, and calling from different numbers, like hes trying to mess up my relationship with my fiance, and even tho he knows i dont want to talk to him, him meaning my ex. This way when he celebrates his birthday he will know im celebrating being with a new, better man who isnt a narcissistic, dismissive, abusive, immature, selfish jerk. We may name the dog after my ex but that would be insulting to the dog.
"He asked me how my day was going at 8am" is a more than justifiable reason to cut someone out of your life. Nobody with that type of energy is allowed around me, just absolutely not.

I had the utilities issue with past roommates who were a couple. They wanted to pay half of everything instead of thirds because they were a couple. My solution was to break the lease and each of us get our own 1 bedroom apartment. I talked to the leasing office and they agreed as long as my roommates signed the papers. They refused. Then they moved the TV into their room so I couldn’t use it without them thus “using more electricity than them.” Well what they forgot was that literally everything in the apartment other than the tv was mine. Even the microwave. So I moved everything into my bedroom. I couldn’t fit the couches in my bedroom so I removed the couch cushions and put those in my room and locked the door when I left. Well blow me down they signed me off the lease 3 days later. But they didn’t clean their bedroom when they left and it had about an inch of filth on the carpet. They refused to pay the cleaning bill. I paid half of it and the leasing office agreed it bill them the other half. And guess what else? About a month after we moved into our own apartments they packed up all their stuff in the middle of the night and abandoned their lease. If I hadn’t gotten out when I did I’m sure they would have done that to me leaving me with a huge disgusting mess and the whole rent to pay!
Never had a roommate again. They did to me what they did to you back in 1980. I moved in with cousin and lived happily ever after, even though they tried to stick me an $800 phone bill. The phone company went after her. They refused to clean up the apartment which I cleaned for $400 and they got nothing back cause the company gave me the cheque and I deposited it faster than eating a ham sandwich. Important lesson learned: don’t fuck with others because you might find it hard to.

I had a sh!tty friend when I was 19 who wanted to get a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with me and her boyfriend. Her genius idea was that I’d pay more than them because I’d be getting my own room & bathroom while they would have to share. And also that they could use my bathroom whenever they wanted because it “only seemed fair.” Fair for who, b!tch? Not me! 🙄
Me being a roommate was really just a ruse so she could live with her boyfriend who her parents forbade her to see. Funny thing is, he’s actually a really good person and I’m still friends with him to this day. (Her parents were just controlling, whackadoo evangelicals, and I’m so glad he got away from her.)
Needless to say I am not friends with her anymore (she caused me a lot of grief) and while I allowed her to take advantage of me on multiple occasions, I’m SO glad I didn’t let her con me into such a horrible situation! I could see right through her sh!tty intentions in that situation.

Yeah I lived with a couple before, they were my friends, but yeah they tried to do the 50/50 thing with me too. Eventually they kept getting fired and stopped looking for jobs and I had to pay the bills by myself for a few months. Eventually we got in a big fight over something so stupid and they asked me to move out. I was happy to leave. Broke the lease, (they got one of their other friends to pick up my part of the lease) and I moved into my own place. Never spoke to them again. But I was just happy to get away from them. They ruined the apartment anyway so I didn’t want to get stuck with that bill.

We do rent a house that has a doddy apartment attached. Everything is separate except the water, which the landlord splits according to how many people are in the other side. Sometimes it’s unfair if 1 person is on the other side, because we pay 2/3 of the water, and they’ll have a bf/gf living there & using the same amount of water or even more than we do, and we end up paying for it.
Also, the laundry room is a small attached room, separate electrics, but usually whoever is nextdoor will use our washer/dryer because they either don’t have their own, or don’t want to pay their bills. The circuit breaker box is in our bedroom, and I just turn off the breakers for the washer/dryer so they can’t use it. It really cheeses them!
My friends had to deal with a roommate who would use their dishes but refused to wash them. They told her she wasn't allowed to use them anymore, but that didn't work. So I advised them to use some anti-chewing dog spray on their dishes randomly and just keep some disposable ones in their rooms.
It only took her getting a hold of one fork to make her never use one of their dishes again. The anti-chewing sprays work way better on humans than dogs, in my experience.

Not that she did anything like that with anti-chewing spray or be petty, but one of the better counsellors I had actually trained and became certified as a dog trainer.
She went back to that line of work as the paperwork was less.

I love Khan! He was on Australian Survivor and was one of my absolute favourites. He did all the cooking and somehow made that awful food amazing. He made the show so entertaining. One of the few people on that show I'd actually love to meet and hang out with in real life.
Khan actually started out on Masterchef Australia (2018) and made it to the semi finals. He is part owner of The George On Collins in Melbourne. One of my favs 😊

Khan is so funny and his food is always amazing, wish he won masterchef when he was on it.

My mom is a writing teacher. So I went into her phone and changed a bunch of words. They’re/their/there were all switched. Which/witch….ect…you get it. It drove her INSANE! She didn’t know why and she always corrects people. I made the mistake in telling my family. They made it funnier for a bit correcting her. But then they told her it was me. 🤦🏼♀️
My boyfriend never calls our dogs anything cute. It bothered me so much cause when he talked about them he would just say “everyone”.
“Everyone is good” or “I took everyone out”…
I changed everyone to another word…

You didn't give us a lot to work with, but definitely make is super personal based on what he likes... Maybe take him to a place he has talked about wanting to go, even if it is just somewhere near you since you are limited in what you can do. Or make him a picnic and take it to a special spot? Going to the place you met is always a good one but not overly unique unless it is super special to you two. My SO is super into old school video games, so if I was doing something similar I would plan a trip to Super Nintendo World once it opens, and do it there while we are on a ride or something like that. I think you'll easily figure it out when the time is right. So happy for you and I wish you two all the happiness in the world!

The guy making the salad lunch for his boyfriend is named Kahn Ong and he is a really good chef. He was on MasterChef Australia twice and placed really high each time. For anyone thinking the lunch does not look bad he probably normally does a lot better.
After my room mates ruined my pots and pans, my new set got locked in my room AND in a tote under my bed with a lock (I had a shared room). I would get the ones I needed out, use them, immediately wash and dry, and put them away. Then eat. NOPE, NOT TODAY
I just don't condone living with room mates, like at this point my bf can't move in till after we're married and even then it's iffy, I collect incredibly unique obscura like rare shelf fungi or the c7 vertebra of a bison and so much of it is so fragile, I had a lunar moth that chose to expire in my hands after flying to me, it was cherished, and it was smashed into dust by careless houseguests
I'm not a prude, I'm rather obviously a gay witch but still yall can't even look at my pre-ww2 German and soviet stocks that my family smuggled out from the nazis, sure they are sitting out on a table under my bagpipes but next to my harp tuner, if you've hit the claymore sword you've gone too far but that's because I keep my spaces in optimal conditions for artifact storage (about 60°F with a balanced consistent humidity) and would never do something to endanger my precious tat
I just threw out my whole set and used there's. Works like charm. Made a point to say mine was ruined and visibly in the garbage.

Mickey is his roommate and the lunch box content is a whole thing. Kahn is a chef and just makes Mickeys lunch box every day and they are amazing. Everything coming from that kitchen (hungover foods eg) is amazing

As a retail workers, it's always fun learning new ways to be petty. From my own perspective, one thing I love is when customers hand you their money but put/throw it on the counter. Tempted to do the same, I simply give them the dirtiest money in the drawer and put the receipt in the bag without asking them if they wanted it in their hand.

This!!!! I hate when they toss their payment at me, then thrust their hand out, expecting change placed in there. I ALWAYS give them the dirtiest coins and screwed up notes. Our notes are polymer, not paper, so they never uncrumple properly.
I was working two jobs and going to nursing school. My roommate was letting her boyfriend eat all my food but she had hers labeled with DO NOT EAT ! The straw that broke the camel’s back was when I was going out and my sweater smelled like sweaty pits ! I always kept my laundry up due to always needing uniforms etc. she said “ Oh my friends were over and we were going out so I let them borrow your clothes “ ! Turns out she was lending my undies also ! She moved out shortly after !
I had roommates like that I'd go to work from 7 am, then to lectures till 9:30 and when I would go back to my room they'll be starting to party and would have taken and eaten all my food. Talked to the dorm management after I had found someone had slept on my bed because it was dirty and my pillows were on the floor. Some people are just nasty

The first few words of that story were harrowing enough, 2 jobs and nursing school? I barely have time to cook when I'm in paramedic classes (although I am in a compressed program that gets you certified in like 9 months (of class time, one calender year)

Right! I'd get annoyed at being called "Babe" all the time. It's like they don't remember your name, or they use it so they don't goof up and call you by their other girl's name. My ex called me "Sweetie", and I hated it... and yes, he had a girlfriend(s?) on the side.

Found out from a botanist very recently that it’s actually much healthier for your spring and summer grass to KEEP the leaves on your lawn. They break down in the winter and become feud and fuel for the grass and the trees when spring hits. He said when you break up or blow the leaves, you’re literally tossing natures fertilizer.
@@annekai The grass dies back in winter anyway so it doesn't matter if leaves are covering it
My brother tried to rationalize not raking with that argument. After about 3 years of not raking, he now has lovely dirt and moss. Something about the tannins in oak leaves, they don't break down as easily.
Oooh! That’s awesome! So my laziness will hence to forth be rewarded!!! 😜😜 was feeling embarrassed from my neighbors cause the snow melted last week and the leaves were visible again. Now I have what to tell them!!
This is true it is highly recommended that you run over the leaves with a lawn mower or a leaf mulcher so they break down quicker.
You have to use a mulching blade on your lawn mower to break them down. And it can't be a thick carpet either.
If your neighbor blows their leaves into your yard, bag them up and place the bags in their yard for them because you're so helpful but slash open the bottoms of the bags so when they pick them up they rip open and spew the leaves back over their yard.

My one neighbor has been an a** since my husband & I bought our house 17 yrs ago. That neighbor has a lawn service mow their lawn every couple weeks & a few times a year they fertilize/spray for dandelions & weeds. Every year I wait till the dandelions in my yard have gone to seed then I gather them up to “make wishes” 😏 and watch the wind spread the dandelion seeds all over their yard. I truly cannot find the words to express the magical feeling of pure joy I get when I see their yard dotted in bright yellow. 😊

For the roomate one, I would have bought a small fridge and some containers. Pack ALL the utensils, cups, pans, etc into the containers then either a) moved them into my bedroom b) have a container of most used items and temporarily moved the rest into a friend's place or storage. Move in the small fridge filled with all fridge food items I have paid for. Will this be inconvenient, yes, will it keep them from being able to get into my stuff, also yes.
You will have to learn how to minimize what you buy and also make sure to not leave anything in the kitchen after meals, but it will be worth it.
my brother has a mini fridge just for that reason

Omg Khan (the guy making the amazing lunch for his BF) was on Australian Survivor!! I absolutely love him! I watched that season mostly for him, he made the show so entertaining! I was so rooting for him. He cooked all the food and somehow made all that awful food taste decent haha. Love King Khan!!

When I was a teen (before cell phones, think mid 90's) I had a friend who would monopolize our phone conversations. If I tried to talk she would constantly interrupt. For the longest time I beat myself up over it, telling myself I was being selfish. Finally one day I had enough. I let her talk, without me trying to say anything. I wanted to see how long it would go. She talked for a solid hour (I timed it) never once did she ask me anything about me or anything. After an hour I had my proof I wasn't crazy, interrupted her just enough to quickly say I had to go and hung up. A year went by and I never reached out to her. I think she tried to call once but I told my mom I couldn't talk. She never once reached out to ask if we were OK, was I ok. What was wrong? Nothing. Never gave a rats ass. Years later I did apologize (more because i realized i hated her and felt that was wrong) and explained myself. She seemed to understand and I think she apologized but I can't remember. She was the one who once loaned me a quarter only to remind me I would need to pay her back. 😄 🤣 We were young and have grown alot. Don't stay in touch now but more out of busy different lives. (Sorry this is so long)

If she didn't reach out either maybe the friendship just outgrew itself? I used to do that to my bff (we met when we were 12 in 7th grade, we're 40 now!). I'd cut her off and it'd drive her INSANE!!!! Shed patiently (irritated) wait for me to finish then tell me what I did and continue what she was saying. I tried controlling myself but it was so hard, I never Really got the hang of it. As an adult, after I had my son & he got diagnosed, I found out I have ADD. 🤣 It made everything make sense so we laugh about it now. She's more patient with me now too lol but she's always known I dont do it to be rude. I had even tried writing down what I needed to say instead of blurting it out! And also, its ok for friends to have periods apart and come back together. Usually it'll be like no time has passed. Real friendship can make it through anything, you both have to want it tho. 💕

My granny had a picture like that. She had white Jesus, black Jesus, and a Jesus that we could never quite tell, but maybe Spanish. I asked her once why all of them. She responded that they are all Jesus and she was just covering her bases because she didn't want to offend Him.😂
She said He could be pink and green and she would still run to him. I miss my Granny. She was awesome. And I'm sure she is hanging out with Jesus no matter what color He is.

A friend of mine had a roommate who annoyed him. My friend used to make lunches for each of them almost always included a little single bag of chips. Roommate never figured out the reason his chips were always crushed and crumbs was my friend mangled the bag.
That cellphone thing is not petty, that's straight up gaslighting.
Especially as it did not seem to be revenge for something he had done but only for her deranged pleasure.

As a teenager I went to London with my mom and she just insisted to go into every musem there was. It was so annoying to me that when we were on some impressionist exhibition I started to be petty. You see Im from Czechia and mom can't speak english but kept asking me for a name of every picture to translate to her. So I started making names up and suddenly was the exhibition very funny. 😁 Have nice day everyone ✌️

My friend and I changed an entire schools server to autocorrect Hellen Kellar to Anne Franke and Anne Franke to Hellen Kellar. Five or six years later my brother was in high school and said it's weird he had to look up Anne Franke but Hellen Kellar kept replacing it. Hardest I had to hold back laughing since I completely forgot about it at that point.
Both also spelled wrong besides being transposed. Funny!

My roomie and I locked up every item in the apartment that we had contributed when the other roommate started getting petty about where we moved the food she left out on the counter, she had zero dishes, zero cooking implements, no tv, no silverware, no detergent... It worked until she got violent a few weeks later. We got pettier, it was a war that made the other roomie and I best friends for the next 15 years (so far)

Reminded me of a former roommate. 18, mama's boy, newly out of the closet. As petty as they come. He had a giant sectional sofa we all shared. He got mad one day, don't remember why- (maybe I didnt do the dishes that his mama always did for him??) and carried all of it upstairs to his room so we couldn't use it. I was unfazed. Just got me a lawn chair to use to watch tv. (My tv). He was sooo mad. LOL Eventually he got tired of climbing over the furniture in his room and moved it all back. Sadly, being newly out and wanting to play he wasn't too careful and contracted AIDS. RIP Russ. You were a sweetie even if you were a PITA. ❤

A friend of mine moved in with a rather unstable person as it turned out. I told her to pack all her stuff into her room so the other can't use it. She also almost got her fired as friend works remotely and she trespassed into her room and screamed at her in front of cams and a meeting. I would have declared war at that point.
Like get all my stuff out into a storage unit and buy a mini fridge and hot plate since the kitchen drama is also there. But my friend is also dealing with new diagnosed cancer and doesn't have the energy other than working.
Unfortunately she lives too far away or i would have get her out of there.

The leaves are an issue because everyone blows them into the street but because my driveway sits below street level they always seem to find their way down. I accept it even though the leaves aren’t the same variety as mine, but I resent having to go clean up a foot deep pile in the gutter next to my curb while nobody else has leaves in their gutter. Fine, since I mulch them and figure it’s exercise. I did draw the line on the grass clippings as I watched my neighbor blow his crass clippings across the street. I have a xeriscaped front yard with absolutely NO grass in the yard and since I am disabled, it’s a chore to sweep, bend down to collect and move it elsewhere. This neighbor quit talking to me so I decided that I would play his game. I collected all the grass clippings in the street and spread it all down his driveway. Resting on my front porch, I saw his wife come home, stopped and stared at the driveway before she drove through it all. She went into the house and a few minutes later they come outside to inspect the driveway. He knows what he did and immediately looks over at my house and I grin and wave a friendly hello. He never did that again as he realized that I was going to continue to do it. 🤣
I am totally happy you are taking some time off! You so deserve it! But, I will say, now that you’re posting every other day, I am so much happier when it’s a Charlotte day!
