Hey, all the better for us. Bet this puppy would scream on a high horsepower rotary, hahaha. I still can't believe how relatively affordable Borg Warner turbos are for the quality and performance.

They do make cost effective product forsure. I'd love to see any rotary content honestly, I feel like its a dying art these days!

@@momentumworx We rotary swapped a Subaru BRZ! We're looking at bigger turbos and BW is def on the list. They are a popular choice for the high power rotaries since they basically make 0.75X the horsepower of a piston engine on the same turbo, hahaha. Check out Monster Motoring for the latest videos on that. 😁

the first thing i did when i bought the 171702 turbo was buy an aftermarket kit with the 360 bearing and install it.i guess they finally figured out that maybe they should'nt use the cheapest crap!

I Bought mine ~3 years ago and it already had a 360° thrust bearing...so.......it was the SX-E version
Borg Warner turbochargers have and have had a reputation for durability for more than 20 years..they know what they're doing 😅

I want the loudest borg Warner turbo that’s out there. Engine is an Audi 4.0tt v8 that I’m doing a single conversion on. Which do you recommend? I was looking at the sxe476 with a twin scroll .90 housing. Do they have the obnoxious turbo sounds ? I feel like the cast compressors make more noise than the billet. Or maybe it’s just the surge compressor housings

Seems the compressor cover on the SXE model flows slightly more. About 10lb/min more. Definitely a good price for the turbo but there are some slight differences.

Hello from Germany. Your videos on S400's is why i'm here. I was wondering if you'd recommend a S410 085 for a Mercedes OM606? It's a truck turbo for a car engine. However the OM606 isn't your normal diesel engine. My P pump can handle 500hp+. I can get a brand new s410 for 300$ as nobody over here uses them. If you can help. Thank you!

The S400 line is a very old design, maybe close to "end of life" and they are combining parts to reduce stock. With all of the Chinese S400s for dirt cheap and the new trucks using vnt designs.... It doesn't seem like it makes sense to keep building them much longer.

I can't find the s400 turbo anywhere on the website.. It's listed next to the 171702 but doesn't give a option to choose, it's only giving me the 171702 option, from the video it's a 10 blade 76mm wheel but it's only referencing a 7 blade 75mm 171702. Please advise where to find the specific new s400. Thanks
