Its a really great concept. I bought one from Costco in September of 2023 and it is amazing to start a load and wake up to dry clothes. I also love the energy saving aspects to reduce costs. Unfortunately 3 months after getting mine, it stopped heating and I am now entering my 4th month of it not working after 4 visits from techs that aren't familiar with the machine (and we live near Atlanta so you wouldn't think that would be an issue), waiting for weeks on backordered parts (why are so many replacement parts backordered?), and now they are saying I need to have the entire heat exchanger replaced after visit 4. My wife is frustrated beyond belief and I wish I had never purchased this unit. All I get is the runaround and no resolution from anyone. This morning she indicated the clothes are dripping wet and there isn't a way to run just a spin cycle like you can with other units to try and get it to re-spin the clothes dry so we can then move them into our old dryer to dry them like we have been doing for the past 4 months. And yes, we have checked the drain filter isn't clogged, enough clearance, etc as well as have the 4 techs. I regrettably recommend you avoid this model.
My original unit worked for 3 weeks. I then waited on GE for 3 months for the backordered unit, the week it was supposed to arrive they told me it would be another 30 days thats when i got a refund and had one delivered in 2 days from lowes. Not very good customer service. The new unit has been great so far except for the lint issue. The filter Mod has really helped with that problem.
This machine is on sale for $2000 at Costco. Ordered last Wed and could have got it as early as the following Monday (am in Northern VA). When I tried to order on the GE website, delivery was after two months. Looks like GE prioritizes sending units to vendors over direct sales customers. Costco includes free delivery, installation with all required parts and haul away (they took both my washer and dryer). Good luck with your unit!
@@CyrusPenrod I am a member. Bought online. Price is still $2299 with a $300 discount in the cart. Would suggest you also get the extended warranty. If you are not a Costco member, you can always join and cancel before the year is up. I think they refund your membership. I find it worth being a Costco member though. They are one of the few stores that look after customers. The delivery crew also took away my old washer and dryer at no additional cost. So it ended up being $2000 (plus taxes) installed.
Wish us luck! We just got ours delivered today. We’re a family of 6. We really needed a unit with a dehumidifier for the dryer because it must go into a closet. This was perfect. I’m Trusting the 7 years of development for this product.
Do you have issues with lint collecting on the Coil / Condenser? I'm putting together Filter kits and I posted a video on how to deep clean the coil every few months without taking the unit apart... @@OzarkLivin
Thanks for sharing. I was gonna buy the GE, but I bought the Samsung AI washer dryer combo instead. I love it, no issues. The Samsung was more advanced I think it dry faster too.
When I bought mine samsung wasn't available yet. I'm still happy with the way the ge profile is working but they have gotta get the lint issue fixed. Thanks for the comment
This is not off to a good start . Taking that 300 lb machine in and out of your home is alot of effort and the risk of damaging something. All of this was supposed to be tested and inspected for quality and durability at the factory . I will have to look at its warranty again because i can see something going out as soon as the warranty expires. I still think they could've skipped the auto dispensing and put in a roto spray wash stream instead. Go look at the 1969 Lady Kenmore Combo . Now i had that machine and i could count on it every time.
How about today? Is it still providing what you need? Would you recommend this for a larger family or is this better suited for fewer people in a house doing smaller loads? It seems awesome but we don’t want to feel like we lost a bet and buy something that is not accommodating to larger families with more usage. Would appreciate your insight and thoughts.
Still happy with it! We have ran 60 cycles so far, family of 4. Will definitely work for larger family. So nice to throw a big load in and come back and it's done.
Do you know which direction the air flows when drying? Is it flowing left to right, ciming out theough the blue coils on the right? Or the other way? Because i have a huge amount of damp lint residue on yhe left side when i look inside the lint area. The blue coils are clean. It isnt deying, behaving as if it isnt getting enough air. I can't reach that area to clean it.
This can happen with any new appliance or anything for that matter..I had a compressor go out in the first year on a $1700 LG fridge.. ended up having to fix it myself because they claimed I messed with the unit..but they did end up providing the new compressor fortunately I have the equipment to do this sort of work..
Got my first unit December 9. After multiple visits from a technician and time off work to meet with them at my at my house, and countless hours on phone with GE was sent a new one.doesnt work properly! No refund. They are sending me my third unit. So tired of this!
Notice it was on backorder but you could get one in a day if you bought it. Companies dont give a shit about customers only how many sales they can lock in. Not saying GE is any different than any of them but we, as consumers, need to stop putting up with losing $600 because companies like GE need to keep product on the sales floor. They already had your money and their profit, "screw you" is the attitude.
I just knew when these came out that there would be problems…. 😕 Shame they couldn’t get you a new one sooner I would have just bought a cheep 2nd hand machine to tie me over till then and keep it as a spare (you might need it again) Better luck with this unit but I think it’s to technical for a washer/dryer 2in1 but I do own a heat pump tumble dryer and it’s so cheep to run it’s great was just a lot more expensive than a ordinary dryer… my old washing machine was a combined 2in1 and that didn’t use my much electric either when on drying cycle just everything would smell like rubber sometimes 😐
Hey there I’m just wondering I have an AI button at the top left screen and when I turn my washer dryer on now it goes directly to the dry settings. It won’t allow me to go to the wash/dry setting do you know why
someone else had this issue and they just powered the unit on and then held the dewrinkle button until the AI button disappeared. Let me know if that works
No I was hoping I would get to so I could try to repair it. I ask the GE guys that came to pick it up what they were going to do with it and they said scrap it. SMH
I think they recommend every 5th cycle, the machine reminds you but it really depends on what I'm washing. If I'm washing towels I clean after 2 loads.

yes and no. If it breaks yes, if its working like it should it is pretty awesome. Throw a big load in come back and its all done. Honestly everyone has different situations. We love the unit even after all our problems and it really cuts down on the electric bill!
@@OzarkLivin RUclips deleted my comment because I said our appliances from GE are made in China. You really are. Much less to go wrong. In each unit compared to this. Even if it works right for a while the likelihood of failure is so much higher. Had an LG washer dryer, crapped out in just under 7 years.
