Also one interesting fact for tourists about "drunken clock tower" that is nickname of the clock tower because I do not know if you noticed that clocks small pointer actually points minutes and big ones points hours. I was in the army here from July 1993 till July 1994 and after the army I was a student here studied English language and literature at the University of Philosophy.. Novi Sad was founded at the end of 17th century, only 1300 years after Roman Empire. The state You had in mind was Habsburg Austria (German half of the country was part of so-called Holy Roman Empire)
@@BokicaK1 Novi Sad was founded much, much earlier, the archeological evidence confirms Neolitic settlement in its place. The city status was bought about 300 years ago (in 1748), yes, but people have been living in the area for millennia. Modern-day Novi Sad evolved from three preexisting villages that were joined into a town after the Turks got expelled. Very few cities have days of foundation, since they gradually evolved from smaller settlements. There are exceptions though, like Saint Petersburg which was purposely built on empty land for strategic reasons. Novi Sad's history is much, much older.
@@zz3690 Yes, there were likely towns in pre-Habsburg era, but the name Neoplanta comes from royal charter that gave city rights to Novi Sad. Romans hardly had anything with Novi Sad, unlike Sirmium (Sremska Mitrovica for non-Serbs), that was imperial capital during tetrarchy period, or Singidunum (Belgrade), Naisus (Niš), Viminatium (Kostolac). But if we consider forsaken medieval villages as direct precursor to Novi Sad, then by same logic some would say that New York is a millennium old city only because Native Americans had dwellings on modern Manhattan Island before Dutch bought the island.
@@BokicaK1 I agree with the Neoplanta name explanation, of course, and didn't even claim otherwise. The thing with Indians in North America is that they were a nomadic and technologically backward culture - therefore they didn't settle permanently, so your comparison is completely off.

So Nice.Keep up the Good work👍
Thank you!!!
weather ruined everything... all the best locations you visited had bad rainy weather when you visited
and lockdown
Excellent quality recordings..
Well done..
Thanks so much ! ❤️
Thank you for great presentation of my hometown 🖤
Laze Telechkog street... shame the day you visited, lockdown and cold... usually is packed with people
Thanks for the info!
Street with the night clubs, pubs and Irish pub named Lazino Tele is called Ulica Laze Telečkog.
Best nights out in the normal circumstances
Thank you, we wish we could have experienced it!
Hope you two like our beautiful Novi Sad? We want you to come again, but try to come on summer when you can swim in Danube river and most wonderful beach called Štrand.

Serbia is beautiful, magnificent landscape.. literally everything untouched by britts is beautiful
I assume you the 'IMPOSTOR' are not an anglophile? GFYS.
@@DeusVeritas2 sun does not need to show proof that it shines...britts shine at screwing over countries😂😂 my fellow anglophile try reading history, i guess reading is not ur forte so just watch their vlogs u will know what i mean
@@ashishkumar-ix9lg @ and who are 'your people' and what are you doing here on 'tourists vlog site'? There are plenty of political sites out there for you to express your views. Do you prefer Germans or Turks?
@@DeusVeritas2 hey im not saying anything political...i just said what i observed...i hv been following matt and molly since long time and i like their vlogging and its something i observed and thats what i said...and u r making it political by asking weather i prefer germans or turks and if u want something political then go to political channel or website...FYI britts were equally genocidal and they got away with it because they won the war and as u escalated it to something political im glad that people are realising that churchill was a low-life and maggot...sorry if expressing what i observed is offensive to you mr Anglophile
@@ashishkumar-ix9lg @ what's you native language, kid?
About popcorn. Basic one, with salt....how much you prefer. And one of the best "Pećina" in Belgrade. Even when you bye from them seeds and made them home on the stow are good.
The street were you got gyros is "Laze Teleckog street"
Gyros is not a Serbian specialty, so that's why he didn't really think it was so great. I think it's a new thing.
Thank you!
You have to see the city Uzice,Kraljevo,Krusevac,Leskovac...
Mountains Tara,Zlatinor,Kopaonik...
To Eat... Komplet lepinju in Uzice
Leskovacku muckalicu in Leskovac...
Serbia is famous for night clubing especiaily in Belgrade and Novi Sad... Exit festival got so many prizes for the best festival in Europe..
Its a pity you couldn't enter that H&M, there is a fricking Fresco on the ceiling. Its the boujiest looking H&M i have ever seen.
We went the next day because it suddenly opened but didn’t film it! It’s amazing!
Fun fact on the other building thats on the opposite side of the cathedral in fredom square they hang a gigantic flashing sign for new year to welcome the passing of a year.
You're both great, your videos are great! Subotica, maybe? A really special city in Serbia! 👋
Thanks! Stay tuned!
@@dabbleandtravel Of course! But this stupid weather... 🤬
There is alot of British- Serbians that own Cafes in Serbia so you can find alot of English Fare...
May I suggest the best dessert and coffee place, traditional and gorgeous: 'Vremeplov', I guarantee you will love it!
Thank you!
Cam back for summer
Well Im from Serbia and we just have diffrent types of popcorn because people like it , like chicken , onion....Love Balkan.Btw popcorn in Serbia is call kokice
If you want to come to the old Serbian capital, the city of Kragujevac, you can spend your time wonderfully in the memorial park-Šumarice, the botanical garden, the museum and definitely the best pork on a spit - "Kod Milutina". It would be a great pleasure for me to drink homemade amber beer in the best brewery in Šumadija. Nice stay in Serbia
Stay tuned for future videos!
Big surprise ....beautiful city...worth a visit!
That fortress has catacombs and behind it there's a place where you can ride a pony.
Enjoy your trip
Thank you!
Novi Sad Is maybe the prettiest if not the prettiest city in Serbia. My favourite is Sombor to be honest
Thanks for watching! We loved Sombor too, videos to come!
1. Subotica 2. Sombor 3. Valjevo 4. Novi Sad, by my taste.
first to like and then watch the clip
Thank you!
Wow, i saw all your videos of my country so far ... would you be so kind to tell me which drone you have? Thanx in advance. Ziveli :)

You welcome my dear
The most beautiful city in Vojvodina region.
U try burek no gyro in Serbia !
My hometown 😊
Glad you guys enjoyed Novi Sad (you can translate Novi Sad literary as New Now loool :D ) Novi Sad is the most beautiful city in Serbia! Hope you guys like the food cause the food in Serbia is out of this world!
Novi Sad, ne znaci New Now, vec sad kao usev. New plant .
A originalno potice od Neoplanta, sto je latinski naziv naselha iz doba Rimljana.
Mada u diba kad su ga osnovali Srbi i isusili te mocvare zvai se Racka varos, Srpsko naselje u prevodu
The Bar Street is called Laze Teleckog
Thanks! ❤️
Awesome video
My proposal is to visit Kragujevac, it is 5th the bigest city in Serbia, after Belgrade, Pristina, Novi Sad and Nis.
Also Sombor and Subotica, after that Kragujevac, Zlatibor , Nis and Vlasinsko jezero - Vlasina lake, at the south of the country.
During that trip you will feel why is second name for Serbia, "East-west border".
Novi Sad is 4th the most beautiful city in Serbia by my taste, after Subotica, Sombor and Valjevo.
Stay tuned for our future videos!

Come to Leskovac city 🇷🇸❤️💯
Follow us on Instagram and watch out Serbia highlight 😛
We have a saying in Serbia:
Breakfast - eat it alone
Lunch - share it with a friend
Dinner - leave it to the enemy
So that says a lot about our excessive breakfasts 😂❤

It's neither salami nor pepperoni, it is called Kulen, the best one is made by Slovak minority from some places near Novi Sad. But Kulen is a broad term, every region makes it differently.
It’s just for us to explain to viewers what it’s like it looks and tastes like pepperoni
omg, I am watching all you videos, you are so cool, I am starting to love you. If you came to Krusevac (it was the capital city before of Beglade) I will wellcome you. You can send me a message if you will come you and I will show this town. You are awesone.
And Branka, best waiter ever. What a privilege that you got her to serve you 🤗
❤️
It reminds you Viena because this territory has been under Austro Hungarian empire.
Awesome amazing
Thanks 🤗
When was this? Is there a lockdown this month? Embassy just says cafes bars etc need to have outdoor gardens to serve unless it's takeout. I don't know why things would be closed for you. What lockdown?
