SERBIA's most DIVERSE City! What's it like? (Novi Sad is NOT what you expect) near Belgrade, Serbia

- I visited Novi Sad which is 1 hour from Belgrade Serbia. This is SERBIA's most DIVERSE City. What is Novi Sad, Serbia like? will Novi Sad blow you away?
Thanks for watching!
The church is different from the others because it's Catholic. The ones you previously visited were Orthodox.
While Novi Sad is diverse you would have a hard time finding Russians, Albanians or Saudis(lol).
There were a lot of Germans(Volksdeutsche) there, but not after WW2.Most of the minority communities consist of Hungarians, Slovaks, Rusyns(not Russians) ,Roma(Gypsies) and some other, really small ones.
The people on the wall are high school graduates.
The high school and the Saudis/Russians was a joke. lol You missed it :(. If i keep stating facts, it gets boring for me and you. :)
@@EvanRamani Yeah, I know it was a joke. I laughed at the one about Saudis, even wrote lol.
@@vladanjovanovic6761 yay, mission accomplished lol
And there are many Hungarian/Slovak/Serbian/Rusyin mixed marriages.
Gypsies in Serbia usually play musical instruments.
Those pictures of people on the wall on the street are just Seniors in High School 😅
I know. i was just kidding. There couldn't be that many wanted men and women in Novi Sad. lol
The women of Serbia 🇷🇸 are the most beautiful women of earth 🌍! I would like to fine dine them and give them flowers 💐
Its easy for foreigners to date them, because they like somebody who is not from balkans, but for serbian guys its so hard to find someone there.
@@davor7999 yup, so fkin tru
@@bluvelvet1ez499 you cant be a prophet in your homecountry. Goes for everyone. If you came to Norway you would kill it too
@@bluvelvet1ez499 you cant be a prophet in your homecountry. Goes for everyone. If you came to my place you would be a foreigner and kill it too. Moral of the story: get your passport up🔥
If I redid my life it would be in Serbia. lol
My favorite city. I did my studies there.
"Fancy palace" on the pedestrian street is, let's say "Biscop's palace", it has been built in 1741.
The church behind it is the Cathedral Church of the Holy Great-Martyr George and it is the seat of the Serbian Orthodox Eparchy of Bačka, it has been built in 1734.
If you are going to visit Novi Sad again, or you are still there, go to Laze Teleckog street during the night (especially during the weekends),
also, you should try Banjalucki Cevap from Gajeva street. In Laze Teleckog street, try to find a place called "PUBeraj", they have a very nice garden behind. Actually, you should check every bar there in that street and see what is most suitable for you.
Gerila Bar is Rock-Metal-Punk place, Lazino Sokace is hardcore nationalist Serbian place, etc.
If you like nice restaurants on the river, then you should visit "Ribarsko Ostrvo". (I prefer the restaurant Piknik there, it is not that fancy, and you have a small animal farm next to it.)
The Museum of Vojvodina is a great place to visit also, they have a nice collection of artifacts, some are dated 6500 years BC.
If you want to feel the "vibe" of the city, take an evening or night walk on the Danube quay and visit Monument to the Victims of the Raid again. You can also visit "Fontana Kod Bajića" where students are gathering.
I do not know is it all open or are there some gatherings during this Covid situation, but it is worth trying.
Sorry for drawing you into the sea of information, but I really miss that city, and I would like to show all its beauty to people. :D
Greeting from Oslo, and have fun in Novi Sad.
ps. If you like very big and good "punjena pljeskavica" you should visit the "ZAR MANCE" on "Jevrejska" street.
Thank you so much for the suggestions. Too nice of you Sasa! Novi Sad is an amazing city. so beautiful.
@@EvanRamani You are welcome. If you want to find out more or find something that particularly interests you in Novi Sad, be free to ask.
Also, I highly recommend visiting Petrovaradin fortress, its museum and tunnels, and the city of Sremski Karlovci that is 35mins from Novi Sad by bus.
" It looks like Austria". Lol. Because it was a part of Austro-Hungarian empire once before we took them down
It's like going to Instabul and saying you can see the influence of Constantinople... You're talking nonsense 1975 The Serbian Voivodeship changes its name to Vojvodina
.. Both before and now, Serbs lived here during the reign of the Serbian King, this area was called Sorabicus Pannonia ... Hungarians and Austrians committed atrocities and threw Serbs under the ice and forcibly built buildings! During the occupation, Vojvodina was called Vojna Krajna and Novi Sad, first Raška and then Bistrica. There are minorities here as well as everywhere in the world, Serbs make up 95% of the population from Vojvodina to writers, this is all Serbia and Serbia, only that Vojvodina respect the minority and allow normal coexistence, so don't lie and don't talk nonsense, you are probably a descendant of the Nazis 🙂
Check out Vrsac city...Beautiful city with castle and everything...And MANASIJA fortress monastery is very impressive and around it are few cool places to see, like Resava cave,Ravanica monastery ,Veliki buk waterfall... Both Vrsac and Manasija are one day trip from Belgrade
Friend, visit my town Niš. That is southern Serbia.
Our traditional restaurants we call "kafane" (plural) "kafana" (singular). In kafana you can eat Serbian traditional food. In restaurants (we call them only restaurants, not kafane), you can eat international food. My recommendation is kafana "Orač", kafana "Dagi Plus", kafana "Mrak", kafana "Stambolijski". Our most famous salad is "Šopska salata". Always ask the waiters what they recommend of the food.
In Niš, you can visit Skull tower and our fortress. Take a walk by the river at night to see how people are having fun. You are completely safe in every part of the city. There is almost no crime in Serbia.
Ya, i plan on visiting Nis next time i come. Serbia is safe AF. I never felt like i was in any danger. Plus, there is people walking everywhere all the time. :)
Wow! This is so beautiful 😍
yep. very beautiful city!
There are many parts of Belgrade which were influenced by the Viennese school of Architecture :) But Belgrade is much faster and messier. Novi Sad is much more laid back and more chill. And much better preserved. Belgrade was destroyed in over 100 separate conflicts
SOMBOR, SUBOTICA AND GOLUBAC FORTRESS NEXT
Just small correction. Russians makes relatively small national group in Novi Sad. Mostly kids of noble and educated people escaped from Russia during famous Red Revolution.
They contributed a lot in building of modern Serbia, makes first schools, hospitals, modern institutions in rural regions of Serbia.
Btw.
Novi Sad is faraway richest serbian city, together with Belgrade.
Novi Sad population makes around 5% of population of Serbia but Novi Sad contributes in serbian GDP by 7 - 10%.
Also, Belgrade population makes 23-25% of population of Serbia but Belgrade contributes in serbian GDP by 37 - 40%.
03:53 Hahahhahahahhaha I cried. "Probably wanted man and woman" Hahahhahahahhahahahh :D
Number of people on that wall is probably the number of all wanted people in whole Serbia, btw its pictures of high school kids :D But still funny as hell
lol. Thanks Nenad!
3:55: "wanted man and women". Dude, you gave me a good laugh. These are graduates from local high schools. Novi Sad has a tradition of honoring the high school graduates of this way. Each class would design their own poster, which is displayed at the end of their senior year and would remain on public display throughout the summer, often in windows of local shops and business, but sometimes on a dedicated display stand.
ya lol. i was just kidding. I knew they were recent grads. Novi Sad is such a dope city though!
Great video! Thanks!
Thanks Marc!

It's pretty cool but I like Belgrade and Kragujevac more. :)

Beautiful architecture.

Thank you so much brother. i appreciate the support! :)
No problem. I’m actually going to be in Novi Sad in a few days so enjoyed the info….Good luck 😁
WOW tell me more about this amazing place!
Nice !
Again 😁
Thanks Goran!
You are realy funny i was laughing so much.Good sense of humor😉
Thank you so much Anna!! :) Really appreciate it!
Novi Sad ,the best sity.
If you just ask for espresso, you will get just espresso without any milk, if you want milk in your coffee you should ask for macchiato or cappuccino. This is the same in Italy and any other country in Europe. In Serbia we have “duži sa mlekom” and it’s similar to cappuccino but with less milk. But we mostly drink “domaća” coffee. I think Mocha is made with chocolate and other flavors. But most of the coffee shops have Caffe Americano if you prefer that one (espresso with hot water) 😁
ya, took a bit of time to figure that out haha. Thanks!
@@EvanRamani 😂 haha no, just love coffee ☕️🙌
If you are still in Novi Sad you should go to the Miki Maus its pancake place very cheap and go there hungry (trust me)
That's the best tour ever bro
Thank you Sultan lol. Appreciate the positive feedback!
We call Novi Sad " Serbian Athens "
You have americano coffees in Promenada mall (on the top roof Cafe).
ya, and there is americano elsewhere too. It's just that some people don't speak English and they give me the wrong one half the time lol. My fault though. I should learn Serbian...i am in Serbia after all .
@@EvanRamani in Serbia we don't drink americano that much, mostly espresso or regular "turkish coffee". But if you want you can order " Produženi espreso" (lungo espresso) with or without milk.
@@martius021 Americano drinks nobody, because it also tastes like nothing!
I would think you were Mexican or any Latin + Native American mix. But Ramani sounds Kurdish or Persian? Anyway cool vlog Ill check some more. Stay safe & healthy!
Thank you! you as well John.
3:50 high-school graduates, this is not wild west to put "wanted dead or alive". :)
Petar. I left that in because i thought it was an obvious joke haha.

May I ask which cam you use ser?
It's an old one. Sony as300.

Hey buddy, what the cheapest way to get Novisad from Belgrade?
bus. cost like $7 :).
In ns live serbs, Hungarians, Slovaks, rusins (not russians) , croats.
ya, i was joking about Saudis and Germans. I know most Germans left.
@@EvanRamani not simple left, they ordered to go after 1945. They make Vojvodina fertile. Before Germans most of Vojvodina was swamp. They struggle to live here, and make better place, but war is war.
@@Ландро Ya, i personally think that was wrong since they were citizens...what happened wasn't their fault. but, I guess people were very angry. Anyways, it's in the past. let's look forward to a bright future! :)

It looks like Austria because the northern part was occupied by Austro-Hungary for a long time
for not that long actually
I've never heard so many wrong assumptions about Novi Sad. The best part is wanted people pictures 🤦🏼♀️ Still, I appreciate the effort 😊
that was a joke haha
thats esspreso coffee, you need to ask differente type of coffee,NES coffee with milk or capucino.
Oh, i do ask for coffee. I need to use google translate in coffee shops lol. Idk how serbs drink esspresso. It's so tiny! But, i guess they're used to it.
I know u do your videos alone but i think u should found someone before visits to tell u all about the city and what to visit and when.....but all in all good vibes man, cao
Thank you! Guides charge money and if i hire one in each city, it will add up. lol. I'm on a budget right now. Maybe if the channel grows larger. It's way more fun exploring and being free though. Anyways, thanks again!

I just saw you on the bus. Sorry because I didn't said Hello, I was in a hurry. Btw, welcome to Zemun :)
Hey! It's alright. Thank you! Appreciate the welcome! Zemun is too beautiful. Feels like I'm in a movie lol
@@EvanRamani Thanks. How are you spending your days in Serbia? Is everything alright? You seemed a bit worried, now I feel bad because I didn't ask if you need something.
@@mnb1290 ya, today was a bit tiring. The PCR process is VERY confusing. The location names were in Serbian...had to ask a bunch of people in the center for help. Then, I had to find a post to pay the bill and most were closed. So, it was A LOT of walking until i found one open in the mall lol. So, not worried. was just tired and hungry. lol The pcr process sucks and a lot of money too. Wanted to go to Croatia but they charge $100 too. i aint rich lol. I gotta go to the famous Donut shop in Belgrade before i leave. Some people told me it's a must visit! So, i'm excited to see that. :)
@@EvanRamani Yeah, bastards. They've made a good business out of it. I haven't been vaccinated yet, I don't trust them at all, lol. But soon I will have to move too, so I have to figure out something... I haven't heard about Donut shop in Belgrade (maybe some other name), but you can visit Pinokio palačinkarnicu while you're still in Zemun, if you like pancakes (crepes). Very famous pancake shop. Btw, tomorrow is The Belgrade Marathon, a whole town will be blocked, so you will move very slowly... I'm wishing you a good luck in whatever you do, your channel has a good potential, just post more foods videos. People like that. Especially people from Balkans :)
@@mnb1290 If you don't trust them, then i think you're gonna love Bret Weinstein's video he posted with Dr. Kory 4 days ago. Check out some of it. You will love it. I'm waiting for Novavax. That one has 0 side effects. Supposed to come next month. The Chinese one seems alright too compared to Pfizer. Idk. It's a pretty messy situation. Pancakes are good. I was reading that Serbs make the best roasted pig. Praseće Pečenje... Gonna try that Monday before i leave. Looks SOO good! Thank you for the good wishes man. I appreciate it! I wish you the very best as well!! I'll improve my videos and do my best. I'll also take your tip and include more food videos lol. Heading to Turkey and maybe Uzbekistan next but i'll be back to see southern Serbia later if everything goes according to plan. It never does though. lol But, I did throw a coin in a Serbian well though! So, it might now that i have better luck! haha.
the palace is an episcopian palace, no fancy people in there only monks and priests
3:57 those are students not wanted people, but great vid.

Subotica is the actually the most diverse city in Serbia, not Novi Sad.

Why all this playing dum? Isn't it easier just to read a little bit before the video? Few pages?!
Oh come on man, lol...it's obvious i've read more than a few pages about Serbia just from this video, if you watch long enough. I'm not expert and don't wanna be. You can't expect me to know everything and i also don't want this to be a history video. It's a vlog.
