One major blunder there! "Not Fade Away" was written by and originally performed by Buddy Holly. The Stones just covered it. It was Buddy Holly who based it on the Bo Diddley beat, and the Stones just followed suit.
Thanks Andy for your usual hard work and dedication to your channel. I do like it when you demonstrate a simpler way to access songs via easier chords. Great background info as well!
I just started watching your videos. Right now I’m learning the D major. I have hope that one day I’ll be able to play a full song. 😩 until then practice is key!!
You are so amazing. Great teaching style. You meet your students where they are. You have a GREAT bluesy voice!!! Nailed it with Midnight Rambler! I am gonna pull my guitar out tonight and try it!!!
High Andy , I’m of an age that I remember the Stones from the beginning , which will gives you some idea, lol . They inspired me to pick up the guitar, and then girls and life took over, and my guitar took a very long back seat . I’ve been checking out your Chanel , l know or can work out the fretboard and know some of the basic cords . If I sign up for lessons what level would you recommend, Just a footnote I’m now 72 . Lol .cheers mate , Regards John

You genuinely can't copyright a chord progression too, it doesnt hold up in court. Therefore many songs use the same chord progressions again and again

Seriously, you do know Not Fade Away was a Buddy Holly Song, right? Not the Stones and had nothing to do with Bo Diddly. The one and only Buddy Holly. C’mon man
That's cause Richard's isn't that good of a guitarist , Ron Wood is way better guitar player but he's not one of the originals that's why Keith is lead look when he plays with Clapton, Billy Gibonns, and Chuck Berry then you'll see
@@nirrrvana88 The first 2 Sabbath albums were groundbreaking but the band got into cocaine use and the quality of the music declined. The Heaven and Hell album with Ronnie James Dio was an exception. That album was one of the greatest comebacks in rock and roll history.

Love the sound of your acoustic guitar, what make/ model is it?
Thanks Nick
Not fade away was originally a Buddy Holly song. The Stones covered it.

Vous avez des vidéos en open G tuning.??? merci ...
Open G tuning video coming soon 👍
No mention of Buddy Holly regarding Not Fade Away?
What guitar are you using in this vid, sounds nice
💖💖💖
Bueno
The Rolling Stones 3 chord wonders
Not fade away is a Buddy Holly tune and that’s the strumming Holly used.
Is your signature guitar an electro acoustic?
Qué pasa andy. Can you do High and Dry - Radiohead. next time :DDD thanks for the awesome video
👍👍👍 !!

Hey Andy...
Thanks for sharing this helpful and interesting music🎶 video🎥

The opening progression, I thought "Rolling Stones? That's Aimee by Pure Prairie League" Haha. I guess they all borrowed from someone before.
Two quotes come to mind;
"Talent borrows, genius steals"
Also "There's nothing new under the sun".
You genuinely can't copyright a chord progression too, it doesnt hold up in court. Therefore many songs use the same chord progressions again and again
Playing in open G is easy. Sounds better too
I used to wish i could sing, now i wish you could sing.
😄😄😄😄😄

Didn't Buddy Holly write Not Fade Away?
Under Assistant West Coast Promo Man
Why do we have to buy a cord ?
Not Fade Away is a Buddy Holly cover
Satisfaction has a d-major.
I’d buy a shirt if you had a v neck option
I want to learn 2002 song make the video
Not Fade Away was a Buddy Holley number....
Does Andy really think that beginners can finger that barred B chord?
Not fade away? Bo Diddly was one string on a broom stick. Bo Diddley took his name from that. Buddy Holly ripped it off and lastly Keith Richards ripped it off
miss you has 4 chords.

A perfect example of someone who is clueless about musicianship. You not Keith, in case you are wondering.
Do it right. Sorry broski. I get its more beginner centric but you should learn the correct versions and tuning
Do you think he doesn’t know? He keeps it simple for a reason.
@@jmenden111 you know I thought about this after I wrote it. Agree. I should NOT be a music snob. Thx for saying that man.
Beatles rip-off
The Rolling Stones, the Beatles and Zeppelin. The top 3 British bands, yet they were all so different. No similarities whatsoever between them.
We're talking rock & roll, not ballet.
