    I have been drinking whole milk for most of my adult life. I never fell for the low-fat bullshit. However, a few months ago, I had to give up milk because I was drinking too much of it and gaining more weight. I was going through over 8 gallons a month. It wasn't the fat in the milk that was making me gain weight, though...it was the lactose. I still eat cheese and butter and bacon, eggs, sour cream, and salmon though.

    She is right about polyunsaturated fats (oils). Another issue with seed oils is that they become oxidised (rancid) in the production process. It is then deodorised to get rid of the rancid smell. Because they are oxidised they are highly inflammatory. Some scientists suspect that these oils are implicated in a range of auto immune diseases and cardiovascular disease

      By name yes, but sepcalized diets for people with diabetes were being experimented with as far back as the 1700's. While the name ketogenic was not created yet, the diets that showed the best results would be considered ketogenic by today's definition.

  • @nikosstamatiou1289
    @nikosstamatiou1289 8 месяцев назад +5

    Nina said that "the ketogenic diet is at least 100 years old". While this is technically correct, it is also misleading, because it is actually at least 4.5 million years old. People (and even Australopithecus, because 4.5 million years ago there was no homo around yet) have been in ketosis for the most part of their lives, except for the times (the rare times indeed) that they had dinner.

    How to eliminate the factors that create oxidization in the seed oil, if the unsaturated fats, polyunsaturated fats and trans fat in the seed oil can be eliminated in the process of production of the seed oil then the seed oil will be safe for human consumption.

    The unsaturated fat , and trans fat in seed oil are very harmful, but if this unsaturated fat and trans fat are removed from the seed oil in the process of production of the seed oil, then the seed oil will be safe for human consumption.

    The problem might be a linguistic one; in that Saturated Fat does not "saturate your body with fat". The saturated, of course refers to the hydrogen bonds.

Do you get history and culture on any level? Why are herbs and vegetables used as medicine for thousands of years? What part of the blue zones does not make sense? The Loma Linda studies about longevity? How about the university of Minn. Studies regarding pathogens in meat (90%?) wow that is an astronomical amount of disease. Are you still confused? I know the fact that all meats are listed as class 1 carcinogens, and alll beef a class 2 carcinogen? Smoking was challenged for decades too until 7000 different studies confirmed it was cancerous before it was labeled cancerous and widely accepted as unhealthy.
