I have had one of these for 3 years and had no idea they were this expensive! An old colleague found it at work and gave it to me because he knew I like stationary. Today my cat dropped on the floor and when I picked it up I noticed the tiny writing “Graf Von Faber-Castell” and I thought it was a brand copying their name. When I looked it up I could not believe my eyes... after this review I think I am actually going to buy the pencil replacement and put it to good use instead of leaving it on the shelf. Thank you for this amazing review.
@@ColoringKaria If you get a chance...they just opened up a new center for Sherwood Forest...I'm a big Robin Hood fan. Seriously, I should go with you, I know all the best places and we could visit my friend who lives near Blackpool! haha
The cap for the eraser looks like it has the same size of a tire valve cap. Can you try one and tell us if it does fit? In case somone loses the original eraser cap...
Hi great video! Thank you! I'm about to buy one, but i just need to know is that pencil fit the standart sharpener? I mean can i sharp this pencil with the other standart sharpener? Or should i always use the sharpener inside the cap? Thank you again for the review!
The pencil,so to day is really wonderful. But, it is not clear whether a 2 mm lead can be fed to it from the back by unscrewing the thread cap at the back of the pencil. Kindly clarify.
glad I watched this video before thi bought it makes no since that you can not put a regular drawing pencil in it espesally if you are about to drop $300
Just tested! It works great. I think it’s the same as their green or opaque white eraser. Which is a great eraser that works well for graphite and colored pencils.
Sorry for the stupid question… but if your done with the pencil can you replace it with a non von graph pen? Or does it have to be the same brand.. thanks in advance
I think they make one that is sterling silver. Personally I would buy that one. I already spend alot of money on fountain pens and my family calls me stupid, wonder what they are gonna think when I buy this pencil
@@ColoringKaria . Silver can be easily maintained with regular cleaning. It seems the more money you spend on stationary the more you have to maintain in lol.
I have a less expensive pencil that was still expensive. I bought decades ago and it is in storage. I will pull it out one day and use it. Thanks for the video.
One of my fears is things not getting used so I’ll try to use it as much as I can at least at first. My sister got a silver pen from Tiffany’s as a gift. She doesn’t use it. Not me. I would be using the heck out of it. At least at first. Do get it out and give your fancy pencil a go!

Thank you for watching! And wow you are lucky!
Loved watching and learning about this. It’s really beautiful!
Thank you for the thorough review!
No problem!
Textured areas are called knurls. It's a machining process.
Beautiful instrument!
Thank you so much for this info. I looked it up and you are so right. Do the swirls on the lid have the same name.
Thanks for the review Karia. Stewie is adorable...so handsome and obviously a sweetheart.🐱❤
Tempting! Thank you.
No problem.
Can't wait for the London video! Are you going to Stonehenge? They just opened a whole new gorgeous visitors center there!
We are! Mwezi calls it “the rocks!” LOL woah that’s great to know.

you can use a standard sharpener if you prefer

ananda rao.k.g this is a wood pencil not a mechanical pencil. I’m sorry if that wasn’t clear. 😬

Karia, I wondered if you tested the eraser to see if it works efficiently?

@@ColoringKaria Thank you for the feedback.❤
Can you use it on regular pencils? Like the regular faber castle ones?
I don’t think the cap fits most pencils. I think this is on purpose.
I just want that cap 😂
😂😂
