It's so good my girlfriend forgot to go to school while she was playing it. She is absolutely been hooked. I'm stuck in chapter 2 because she won't give me my game back :(
My favorite Mario RPG so far. I feel so grateful to be able to play this game and Super Mario RPG for the first time on Switch after constantly hearing fans talk about their nostalgia for these two games.
Other than Mario Kart, this is my favorite Mario game to play. I beat it I don't know how many times on GCN, and I'm getting close to the end on the Nintendo Switch. I'm not a huge fan of all the remixed music. I think I'll be equipping the Nostalgic Tunes badge 100% for subsequent playthroughs. The extra animations and much improved lighting make this game feel more alive than ever. They retained over 99% of the original, which is awesome, but the less than 1% makes a difference.
I can't get enough of this game, the quality of life improvements, specially the backtracking, its so awesome, i can ignore the fps, i don't see it as that damaging or important tbh. You think that this success causes them to remake 64 or make more games like ttyd in the future?.
I’ve waited at least over 10 years to finally play this game again and beat it this time after getting so close last time! It was amazing. It may not be the best game on the switch it is now my favorite game on GameCube and the Switch.
Paper Mario TTYD is my most favorite Mario game of all time. I just love the witty humor, scenarios, and the aesthetics. I have been thoroughly enjoying the remake and reliving my Middle School years with the game. I really hope Nintendo returns to the RPG format with Paper Mario. Solid battle system that is fun, purposeful, and rewarding, interesting scenarios and characters, and paper mechanics that add to the gameplay. That's what we want from the next Paper Mario.
Where I can tell the difference in frame rate of eating game what is 30 or what is 60 FPS so maybe it’s because of my eyesight that I can pick up on it but otherwise I think Nintendo games are very fun and relaxing to play
I think it’s solid and fun game. But the battles can get really easy and I mostly just try to avoid them since there is no real reason to fight. The level design is boring since every chapter just has a bunch of backtracking and repeat areas. Would have liked to seen a more linear approach to map design. Overall, did not live up to the hype for me but still a fun solid rpg.
It's one thing to look into a hype of a game and another if you haven't played an RPG like this. A guess, but you could be the latter and something else, I can't put my finger on. As someone who has played all the Paper Mario titles (but perfer how the first 2 titles play), the battles have more points for experience to level up in them than the last 3 entries with no experience to level. But to each their own. Just wanted to point out what no reason to battle really is. All other points you came across are valid.
@@everythingnintendo experience points don’t really matter if the combat is simple and easy. It’s basically just an illusion to make you think the battles matter. I like it more than no exp, but still it doesn’t make me want to fight more enemies because the battles get very repetitive.
@Redbones44 Difficulty is subjective. I can see how view the battles easy, thus battles redundant. Easy cop out for me to say, but in most RPGs, if it is not to your challenge picking a difficulty, in this game, the badges can make the game easier or harder for you. There's actually some badges that make the timing of action commands harder. I don't know what kind of fun you are looking for (also subjective). I suggest experimenting with battle mechanics more before you write it off. If you have done the above already and are still not interested, I'm sorry to hear the battles here are not your cup of tea.
its a great game just sad nintendo censored the cat calling goombella did also, marios nose is bigger since they love the epic fail whitch was ok and 30 frames ouch and the fact they add a trans charrater but not a dead toad

I binged it in a week such a good game
30+ hours in and only on Chapter 4 lol
Paper Mario TTYD has been a blast reliving this classic!
Thanks for the video!
Digital Foundry said the frame pacing is near perfect, so it doesn't matter if it's 30 or 60 frames per second.

As the backlog continues to grow out of control. 😂
You love to see it. Shout out to Nintendo and OJ for bringing more eyes to this masterpiece.
Can't wait to play this game! Gotta get through a couple others first 😭
This is one of my all time favorite Nintendo games. It’s incredible! Great video!

$60 for a remaster that runs 50% worse in performance than the original that came out 20 years ago is not worth it for me.
I went to my local Walmart and the game was sold out! Lol but I'm def going to get the game...my backlog is long 😅✨
I'm just surprised you didn't put this game on your top 25 JRPGs of all time. I'd place this over Mario RPG anyday.
Plan on getting it after i trim a couple games off the backlog pile. Never played a Paper Mario before.
Thanks for the review, now I need to get this game too, lol.

It is a fantastic charming little rpg
Omg this is the best review I’ve seen on this game and it absolutely sold me on getting it! I can’t say enough praise for the review!!! ❤PaperFun❤
Fantastic video my guy!, I’ll be playing Paper Mario this weekend while celebrating my 30th birthday

30fps, censorship and pandering. Glad my gamecube copy still works and companies can't take it away or change "toxic" elements
This is such a great remake. This is one of my favorite Paper Mario and this remake keeps it true to the original while giving it an updated look.

Paper Mario 64 is still my all-time favorite Paper Mario games in the series. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is my second favorite.
Would you say Paper Mario for Gamecube is better then this version?

Even with a few.... annoying changes solid 8.5.
Wanted to love the paper games but not a fan of timed actions.
I loved this game! I beat the original so, I guess I will beat this one too.;)
