Personal flying electric VTOL copter aircraft testing

- We have been quite busy lately carrying out plenty of flight testing of Jetson® ONE production prototype. Here you can see some forward flight, tight turns and a general demonstration of awesome VTOL capabilities with 50kg payload. We will be progressively adding more ballast each flight(up to maximum 110kg).
Based on testing we are expecting up to 25 minutes of flight(plus 20% reserve) for pilots on the lighter weight scale end. keep in mind not all of the protective shielding and fairings have been installed yet.
You can already place an order thus helping us bring this compact electric flying machine to the market quicker and accelerating large scale production.

Hell yeah! I’ve said to myself for years now, if they can make a phanatom 3 DJI drone work as good as it does, idk why they can’t more or less just build one a little larger in scale. That fits a person inside of it.
Looks like that’s about what someone has finally done!

Read the description,, they are taking orders already so pre order one up for yourself,, would be so cool , but absolutely should still only be sold to people that hold a valid pilots licence ,, just like RC ,, if you don’t know how it works or the basics of flight you should NOT be anywhere near something that flies ,, 99 % of people can’t even drive a vehicle properly, let alone this .

Fantastic
Good to see that there are partial rotor guards in this prototype. Other manned drones have rotating props that are completely out in the open to chomp off an arm or foot like a Veg-O-Magic! Nice work Jetson! It will be very interesting to see what you come up with.
I thought the same, but on the new promotional video they've just released, the guards have been removed and the rotors are exposed... on the production version. Retrogressive step me thinks. Makes no sense in any regard. Weight addition is minimal, relatively speaking.
That would b the BEST CHRISTMAST present EVER!
The world has been crying out for this and it's bound to become as successful as the Rotodyne.
super cool👍👍👍👍
I just wish it was so fucking loud... holly cow. I'm a bartender. image me, coming home from work at 3 to 5 am and waking up the entire neighborhood with my super crazy loud drone ship landing or taking off every day that I work.

I think this is logical to be built, because quadcopter is so stable and easy to control, just like the rc ones..unlike the jetpack, winged jet pack, or flying motorcycle this looks safer and more feasible as a transport..just need a good power source and maybe whoop around the propeller so it can have more concentrated wind pushed down..

To state the obvious, where is the man in the "Manned electric .... flight testing" ?
Yes, flight testing. We will put the pilot in the cockpit once the safety features have been tested.
@@Jetsonaero clickbait sucks ass, it's just a copter in xxxxxl..
@@Jetsonaero And what exactly are those "safety features"? More specifically, what are you going to do in case of a rotor (or more than one rotor) failure? Or is that the test pilot's problem (and the customers')?
@@getsideways7257 please refer to specifications on our website. We us propulsion redundancy - you can still land safely without 1 propeller(or in some cases even 2)
@@Jetsonaero What takes out a rotor in one corner might as well take out the opposing rotor in the same location. I suppose it doesn't hover very well on three points? Also, what happens in the case of power failure? The ballistics parachute? What if the height is around 10 to 20 meters?
I'd say this is insanity.
Edit: after all, this is not a new idea. If there really was a way to make this safe enough (as in bringing the whole thing down after the power was cut), we'd have "flying cars" decades ago. People fly planes and helicopters for a reason, even if they are "unwieldy".

@@ClaviculaNotoria
I think that is the trade secret part, plugging together off the shelf electric motors, frame and battery should be the easy part...eVTOL is more disruptive than Tesla cars!
What is there to envy? The code to run these type of craft is open source. Get a grip.
@@electricaviationchannelvid7863 the fun part is that the 'secret' is open source.
@@ClaviculaNotoria But you need to test the final product in edge cases with weather challenges (turbulence, wind, rain, freezing, icing) to certify it with live cargo...and set operating limitations like all aircraft...
if you add a different sensor or a backup control hardware then retesting, retesting...then recertify even the the production process not only the prototype design...

@Kalergi is trash by the use of my pronouns, I was just generalizing based on statistical information. There are a lot of great individual drivers I'm sure, but as a whole, we're not ready for private air vehicles

This one looks like the first really viable aircraft of its type that I have seen. The only question I have is the duration of the batteries. Make this a two place the reasonable duration and easy charge situation, put some type of enclosure on it and I think you have a winner. I would at least be interested in purchasing a kit or the plans.
Happy to hear you like it. We are working hard to increase the flight time.

Nice. You’re just missing the “Man” in “Manned”.

This is the future of flying cars.
If you actually get someone to ride in the thing, have them fly over water, at least.
No pilot? Thank you for allowing me to hear the noise of the craft!
Nice work! Looks really competetive with the other approaches out there.
I do worry about the propellers beeing able to direclty slice the pilot apart when there is a problem with a bird or a broken prop.. But I guess you have other problems then...
What is the minimum height your ballistic parachute will work? The most dangerous parts of the flight will be whenever you are low to the ground..
A idea : could it be possible that it could keep flying with one motor lost? Lets say we have the L and R rotating ones. Now when a L breaks you could spin up all the R motors a bit more and throttle down the opposite side of the broken Motor. That would mean there is more load on the R spinning Motors while basically the two L motors throttle down enough so they have the same thrust as the one working L motor at full thrust? That would add a ton of redundancy if that worked!:)
Thanks! Yes, it still flies and lands safely with one rotor out. Specially developed ballistic parachute already works from 10 meters while in hover.
I'm just thinking out loud.
It looks good, but the frame is not yet completely optimal.
The outer frame is a good idea, but a lot of stiffeners can be saved if it is completely enclosed and the cockpit is connected with only 4 pairs of rods, which also have engines. So structurally it would look like a bicycle wheel, which we know is a pretty good structure.
I would use carbon composite where the casing and support structure are the same, but I understand that it is easier to develop with aluminum.
I wish you good luck! I hope we can travel with such machines, not for long.
Now put it in acro mode and do some flips ;)
We are going to do it eventually
I want one!!!!
in germany you would n`t get a permission to fly because the rotors could kill birds.
Yes, it also scares the hell out of small children
The rotors could kill YOU... when at least one of them stops midair. Or what, did you think this overfed drone is immune to that, only planes and choppers have failures?
I'm subscribing. This is great!
