What Tube Screamer clone do you like? Or do you prefer to stick to the original Ibanez Tube Screamer?
I just ordered the Behringer TO800 today, 25 quid shipped. Can't wait to try it out on my...Squier Bullet Strat, Squier Affinity Tele and Hartwood Novella semi accoustic. Peavey Audition 110 amplifier. Just practising these days.

I PLAY IN A SMALL regional band in southern Germany and have been using this Behringer Overdrive for about 2 years. We play every weekend and on public holidays at smaller festivals, folk festivals, all kinds of events. I like the sound and the plastic case isn't damaged yet, so it's more durable than you might think.
I've had 3 behringer pedals on my pedal board for about 12yrs. They haven't fallen apart yet, and sound great either gigging, or at home. They may feel cheap, but when looked after, they last the distance.

Yeah I just started playing a couple months ago and wanted to try pedals and got some behringer pedals and they are awesome. I think I will get some boss pedals just slowly when i can afford them.
Agreed, I've had the T0800, SF300 and UC200 on my board for a while now and I love them. I think people being turned off by the plastic casing is a bit stupid tbh, unless you're a touring musician stomping hard on it every night then it will be absolutely fine. Most the people who complain only play in their bedrooms anyway!

I quiet like the Behringer. mine is a 2005 made model, so I've been using it for about 15 years now. It never broke, plastic housing is still intact (the green paint is starting to "flake" on mine, showing white plastic under it...) and to my surprise the knobs still work fine, even though they are completly made from plastic.. . used it live a lot. Does the job. I like it more with single coil guitars though. Nice to push an amp that's just on the verge of break up. It also stacks quite good with other pedals. You're right about the low gain setting of this one, it's ok, but not great... For that lower gain, the "Wish" Klon Clone is quiet good.

I know these Behringer pedals are cheap as chips ( so is my budget unfortunately), but they work, and I'm still in the early stages of learning guitar. in its price range are quite good, I have three behringer pedals, a delay for two and a half years, an overdrive and an eq for a year and a half, the jacks support the daily plug and unplug of the cable, and I have used them in at least 10 gigs, without any damage.

Thanks for one of the better reviews on YT for the TO808, yeah the build quality is a bit meh! BUT these are also used alot with Keyboards and never stomped on night after night by a size 10 boot so last forever, if not abused, just like any other piece of gear! What was hilariuos was that you preferred the TO808 over the JHS Pedal, given he just copies everything, oh the irony! Fantastic! Not checked out your channel yet but you should try some Ibanez Soundtank Pedals, all plastic, except for a few early ones (Metal Cased) as a lot of these are 1:1 Circuits of Maxon/Early Ibanez Pedals and much cheaper than the original pedals they are based off.

I don’t own an original tubescreamer but I do have the Behringer To800 and it sounds pretty good to me. Do you have a favorite Klon Centaur clone?
I thought the TO800 sounded pretty good too. As for a Klon Centaur clone, I haven't tried many. But I'm very happy with my Wampler Tumnus Deluxe. It goes a bit further than the regular Tumnus and Klon but I like it. I've done a video on it if you fancy checking it out.

Do all pedals come with the power supply socket? I cannot imagine why anyone would choose to use batteries over that? I am very new to playing though so maybe I am missing something.
I had 4 boss in the 80' delay, chorus, equalizer, overdrive and years have passed .. so I sold everything in 90' but now I bought it again , delay and chorus waza, concerning the equalizer and the to 800 I bought a Berhinger and I can tell you I'm very happy with it! For example Berhinger chorus... nothing to do with a Boss Waza, don't buy it, I dit it and I send it back

Behringer pedals are great. No one really cares how you feel about the build quality. We cant afford a Boss. Thats why we are watching you.
The TO800 is a reat pedal, period. It does all that the other expensive pedals do and if there's a difference it is minimal, hardly noticeable when listening without watching. Plastic casing? Just buy two in case it breaks but I've never seen a Behringer pedal break, but again just buy two and that would do, in fact, you can buy 3 or 4 Behringers for the price of a single Ts9, so.... can't beat German technology for that price. Enjoy a great sound without overspending.
Yes, it's a great pedal. I did decide to take a couple of the Behringer pedals out on a gig the other day. Partly because I thought it would be good to see how they perform on stage myself rather than just specualting.
Had absolutely no problems. Athough I've only taken them out to one gig so I can't comment on long term use. But I wouldn't have any problem taking them out again... and again...
Even if the electronics of Behringer were not up to par with Boss, if the pedals are surge protected and kept relatively dry and clean, I think one will definitely get their money's worth. Behringer is an electronics supplier too, so, they may even sometimes supply Boss for all we know. Of course if one is a fan of pedals and can afford it then Boss is the clear winner for reliability and holding resale value. At least with Behringer you can "try a clone" for very little. I would not dismiss any Behringer gear knowing that the owner-founder is Swiss German.
Didn't know they were surge protected. That's cool. I've been enjoying the Super Fuzz recently. Definitely agree with trying a clone for very little. Worth giving them a go.
@@ProFunctionist Oh no! Sorry. I mean that if one has one's own decent surge protector before or even on the power supply to stop one's pedals from being damaged. I wonder now though if any quality pedal power supplies, like Voodoo Labs?, bother to have any surge protection in them already? I never thought of that before although I know they do of course regulate voltage, but, maybe not current very well. I always use a heavy duty "APC" surge protector anyways. They make some with 4,000 Joules resistance and they may even have tougher ones than that. "APC" seems to have much above average reliability reviews but I would always, always look into the recent reviews of every particular, individual model still.
I hate that kind of nationality-equals-quality thinking, what if the owner was african or brazilian? Just because a guy is german or british his products are absolutely trustworthy? You don't dismiss any Behringer product because they are great! Regardless of who is the owner or where he was born, most if not all Behringer pedals are made in China anyway so that's irrelevant. Just saying.
@@ericleon6482 Well, true, BUT, at the very least the Swiss Germans are known for attention to design and Quality control with even tiny things like watches. I do think that the Builder/Architects of the Great Pyramid were very Dark skinned Africans that used formulated Limestone concrete to precisely mold its blocks in place and even used molten liquid Granite to make those unbelievably well proportioned statues from by molding such an incredibly dense rock. The Great Pyramid is also a Scientific/Mathematical Time capsule, Model of Earth and phenomenally accurate Cosmic clock that works with its pointer, the Sphinx, in conjunction with the constellations Taurus, Aquarius, Leo, and Scorpio (formerly an Eagle) since they have the four brightest star points in them too. The Sphinx is a combo symbol for Leo and Aquarius (formerly the Angel) and the Babylonian Bull man is symbolic of Taurus and the Eagle/Scorpio. Again, all figured out by Dark skinned Africans working and living in up to 113 degree heat and blazing sun. We in Mexico have the Mayas, Aztecs, Olmecas and other great civlizations who also erected pyramids even bigger than those in Egypt and were also dark skinned living in hot weather. So what?
"Repairs on the Behringer might be problematic". Hmmmmm ⚒. Not a big consideration with a £20 pedal that is not likely to break anyway despite what just about every reviewer says. I know the metal ones are likely stronger but there is no evidence that Behringers break; just everyone says they do without evidence.
BTW. If you clean the behringer with isopropyl alcohol the black print dissolves off (yes, I did that !).

Can I connect a 12v power supply into this pedal?
A 12v power supply? Most likely not. I haven't tried it myself but the general rule is you do not want to plug more voltage in than is required. It can damage your pedal.
The Behringer TS800 isn't an expensive pedal so probably isn't smart enough to know if the voltage is too high. So I wouldn't use a 12v power supply with this pedal. Stick to 9v. Hope that helps!

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the biggest-selling guitar pedal in the world.
(Edit: Has anyone actually broken a Behringer pedal through normal use when gigging? They feel pretty tough to me.)

People that think the Behringers are crap are pure snobs, theres no two ways about it. They’re great sounding full stop, not just for the price and as many people have said look after them a bit and you’ll have no problem with durability.

The Behringer sounds great, but the build is a bit crap. They should update the design, make'em a bit more sturdy and charge a little more!
That would certainly make them a bit more desirable. And I think people would pay the extra.
For the price alone it's a "no-brainer". Unless you treat it like a baseball, you'll have no problem with the plastic housing.
