I know this is a random comment in a sea of other comments, but you have no idea how much of an influence you truly have been on my life. I always look at you as someone I want to be like. All that drive, discipline, willpower, and kindness-you’ve had such a significant impact over the years. During my time studying , I learned a lot about discipline from your “Study with me” videos. I even watch them while studying when I feel lost. Seeing you conquer the world as a student gave me so much hope and love for studying. I don't know if you'll ever see this, but I just wanted to thank you for everything. I love you, Queen of Motivation.alot of love 💙💙💙
German RUclipsr recommendation: Taimi! She is you in German form (aka sunshine, the most beautiful soul) has super chill videos that you can just enjoy but also hear a bit of German too :)) otherwise Türkish für Anfänger is an iconic German show (and pretty simple as it’s a kids one). As for movies, Die Wilden Hühner are THE BEST German kids movies!
If last year you could already have basic conversations, then how can you say that you learned german in 60 days? 🤡 Titles like this only create false expectations on people
I didn't watch the video, but you can learn the basics of a language in 60 days. Stuff like greetings and the time maybe. But to learn it in deep could take you half of your life.
This and the other video from 3 years ago make no sense. 3 year ago she learned it for supposedly 30 days and now 3 years later for 60? Like who are these people trying to fool ! She even moved to Berlin for a while, has been learning for far longer and prepares her speech. All of this just to promote that Lingoda app or whatever it's called. Come on, at least don't exaggerate or flat out lie about all of this. I also don't get this Minerva School. I mean it got founded in 2012? Got some kind of accreditation in 2021 only? Sounds like fluff to me, like one of those modern day universities which are very selective and expensive but ultimately are just degree mills with "modern" approaches to learning.
It says she learned German in 60 days, not that she got fluent in 60 days. And last year she was briefly living in Germany, she hasn't been studying since then.
I'm German and I love the show, but when I wanted to watch it while being abroad I wasn't able to find it on RUclips due to geoblocking, so I had to use a VPN, maybe it's the same for others searching it from abroad, try with a VPN if it the show doesn't show up
I made a friend on your casual kindness post and we've been in touch for about 3 months now and she's German. I was already learning a different language but you inspired me and connecting with her inspired me so I started learning German about a month ago and sometimes I text her in German. Just small phrases and words that I learn and she corrects me and motivates me to keep going. My goal for this year is to hold a conversation with her in German. Also I thank this community and you for bringing us together.
This is such an awesome story, I hope Jade will see your comment! ❤ and good luck with learning German, it's tough but sooo satisfying when you can finally have conversations in another language!! 😁
Hello, Im starting to learn German right now, and I swear, i cant tell you how right the timing of this video is. Loved your videos, and have followed you for a long time, thank you so much for all the work! 😄
Love from your German community ❤
Ugh, I am so happy is that time of the year Lingoda offers the Sprint option! This week I am doing their 7-day free trial and am super excited to have Spanish classes! Their system is pretty organized and I love the fact the teacher talked I Spanish 95% of the time, trying to “force” our brains to get what she was saying. I’ll totally give a chance to the Sprint 💃🏻
Wow, I've been learning German for 7 years in school (with 1 year break) and cant even say a few correct sentences. This is a proof that you need to start talking! and find your new way of studying at home
Krass was du in so kurzer Zeit gelernt hast! 🌈🙏🏼🙏🏼
Herzlichen Glückwunsch, Jade, du machst das super! 🎉 To anyone looking for German input: My RUclips channel is all about fun, comprehensible videos for German learners. I invite you all to my corner 🌞
It's so heartwarming to watch this video of yours because 4 years ago I went through the same journey with German when I decided that I will do my advanced exam in German in the end of high school. I had a goal percentage to reach in the end and I did it!! That was one of the happiest days of my life, seeing on paper the reality of my hard work. I was watching many of your videos in that period of time since you were and still are an amazing sources of motivation! 💛 Right now I'm on a similar journey once again, this time I'm learning Arabic and I made it to a native speaker country with a scholarship where I learn the language every day. I love how you remain so reletable throughout all my life phases, you give me a lot of strength. Thank you and I wish you all the best for your journey in Germany! ✨️
If there is one German song you should really listen to as a language learner it is "Barbaras Rhabarbabar". If you can sing it, you have mastered German pronounciation😂
Looove it! 🤩🙌
small town suggestion for south Germany: *Würzburg!* more specifically: the city beach "Stadt-Strand", the wellness saunas in "Nautiland", if you like climbing: "DAV kletterzentrum", for yoga: YogaManufaktur im Bürgerbräu, for watching films in an artsy, cosy cinema: Bürgerbräu Central Kino, for pretty views: hike around the "Festung Marienberg", for beautiful big gardens: "Residenzgarten", for chill days in the sun: any green along the river Main (bring a hammock!) or anywhere in the city-park "Ringpark". Würzburg is beautiful in summer, there are lots of vegan food options and it's easy to get around on foot or with the trams. safe travels!
Wow, your german is great!! I'm german and have been watching you for years so it's really cool to hear you speak german :D Here are some funny and lighthearted series you might like: Türkisch für Anfänger (Netflix & prime), Die Discounter (prime), Doctor's Diary, How to sell drugs online (fast) (Netflix)...And then there is the new amazon prime series Maxton Hall (a little bit overdramatic, but entertaining). I wish you all the best and lots of fun (and perseverance) learning German!😊
That's the video I needed! I tried learning German two years ago, and was fully motivated. But then, life happened and I stopped my learning process... But I want to get back to it, especially because like you, I would love to talk to two of my friends in their native tongue (one is German and the other one is Austrian). Also, even though the language is difficult, as a grammar addict, I find it so interesting 🙈 Anyway, thank you for sharing your experience with us and your tips, I am determined to go back to it now!
I totally relate to you in how much you have to think about word order when speaking in German 😭 I have considered doing Lingoda for German, and maybe at some point I will, but at the moment I am focused on my other current language, so will just keep on learning it on my own. Keep on going!!! 😊
haha this video came at a great time for me, as I'm ramping up learning German as I'll be going on a high school exchange there next year. Einen schönen tag noch!
I‘m German and I find it absolutely cool when other people learn to speak German because I feel like it can be kind of a tough language. That‘s why I love English so much though. It‘s more simple yet still very pretty
Your German is really impressive Jade!
Man versteht wirklich ausnahmslos was du sagst!
You listen to podcasts and watch in German to learn German. I watch you to learn English 😊. Thank you for Lingoda Jade, it helps me a lot and I have the courage to go volunteering abroad this year.
Fellow German here living in Berlin and I had to laugh so hard when you said your channel name in German. It was sooo cute - wir lieben es, wir supporten dich Jade und freuen uns dich hier wiederzusehen
Thank you so much for that , English is already my second language but I need to speak German for work , so I'm learning it now , so thanks for sharing this ❤😊
You've made so much progress since the last German video, it's incredible! 🤯 I can imagine that the concept of grammatical cases and grammatical genders must be super weird if your first language doesn't have these things. When I told the other international students in my course that my language has 7 cases, they nearly fainted. 😅
oh Jade, I can recommend you the movie series "Die wilden Hühner" - das waren als Kind meine Lieblingsfilme und ich denke, sie könnten dir gefallen, vor allem weil es dort im ersten Film die Idee von "Marmeladenglasmomenten" gibt, die ein bisschen wie deine "casual magic" sind. Looking back, it's sometimes a bit cringe but still fun comforting old childhood movies with a nice aesthetic :)
Theres a german movie about a girl, she bonds with a horse and learns how to ride horses, if I remember right, if you have any idea about the movie title let me know please
Since I just graduated this summer, and my parents are finally taking the plunge and moving to Spain (hopefully next year) I'm finally committing to spanish! So nice to see you taking on a similar journey. This will be my first time committing to a language (I've tried many times before and I have several qualifications lol) bc until now I've not managed to get past A1 😢 so this year is the year!
Yeessss Jade! You sound good! :D I think one of the frustrating parts of learning a new language (when you got the basic things down) is sounding like an idiot even when you have a really bright thought to express or not being able to express your personality as well because punctuation or humor just doesn't translate. It definitely did hold me back practicing my english and sometimes still does. As for German Series: Türkisch für Anfänger is a staple, I also enjoyed Dark, das Signal, Pubertier and Charite. Love from Germany!
Dutch people saying that German is still hard for them are totally missing the point. Yes it's still hard for you...just less hard than it is for LITERALLY EVERYONE ELSE!
I stopped for 25 years. Started again now and I’ve learned a lot again in just a year. I did four years last time but never seemed to make any headway with traditional lessons. It’s so much easier now with all these resources that we can access and use at our own speed. When I was learning at school it was just a four hour block on Thursday with a very dull teacher who gave us very dull texts about unemployment, immigration, booking camping sites or describing my family and other stuff that teenage me didn’t want to learn about. Then the exam was randomly about circuses. Now I can spend weeks on anything I please and there is no one to stop me. I love the internet! I have German colleagues now and I’m just getting good enough that they are starting to challenge me to say random things. We can’t yet have conversations, I’m not good enough yet, but they are seeing enough progress they are now taking an interest. I’ll ask something like, when to use a particular form if a word over another if there isn’t an obvious answer on google, they’ll ask me to say‘can I take my lion to the sauna’….yes that was today’s question. And they give me recommendations for children’s tv shows to watch. They are not my language teachers, I have to be careful about how much I ask. The occasional question about a specific example I’m confused about is ok, but constantly asking for help is not good. They have partners who are learning and get enough of that at home!
Eep! Thank you so much Jade for this! I have been learning Arabic on duolingo for the past 17 days and felt I should do more when it comes to learning it more efficiently. Thank you for the guidance that you have given to us viewers❤ hope your journey goes well🎉😊
Hii am Mira ,my mom language is Arabic ,and currently am learning Germany,so If by any chance ur a German I would be so happy to paractice our learning language together I’ll help and u too ✨
Hi Jade! I don't know where you plan to be when visiting Lake Constace, but if you happen to be in the city of Konstanz/Constance, I can recommend some places :) Cafe Voglhaus has the best vegan cake, the old town is beautiful to get lost in, and if you want to have a nice swim, either quickly jump in the river at Herose park (place where all the students are, especially in the evening - beer pong everywhere) or spend some hours at Freibad Horn surrounded by the lake on two sides! (and it's free!) - perfect for a 'beach day'. Oh, and a secret tip: Wollmatinger Ried, which is like a protected nature area full of birds, feels like a different world. You can walk for ~20 min and then sit by the water, it is so peaceful and quiet. And you can see a cute Swiss village on the other side of the river! One last thing: Grabbing a drink at the Strandbar (=Beach Bar) for sunset! The place to be on warm summer evenings! :) Lots of love from Konstanz; Hannah
Ohh Jade, for german shows I can recommend you Dark (but beware, the audio quality is kinda bad), Kleo (it's about a german asassin in the DDR and shortly after the Mauerfall, so there's a bit of german history inculded and it's really funny!) and ofc, the shiniest, newest - Maxton Hall lmao (can recommend but only if you're in the mood for a bit cliche romance). Also if you're looking for a good Podcast, I would absolutly recommend "Harry Podcast" by Coldmirror (she breaks the first movie down in five minute bits and analyzes everything about the scenes and it's hilarious.) Ich hoffe du hattest einen schönen Tag! 🍀
also I was about to suggest Babylon Berlin but you already know!! I love the range of accents in there too, and that song in the first episode is so goood
About Show recommendations: these will technically all be children’s shows, but they are very beloved by many Germans (and are a good conversation point since they made up our entire childhood) - Die Sendung mit der Maus, Willi will’s wissen, Wissen macht Ahh, Löwenzahn These all are like knowledge Shows explaining things (like how Instruments are made) or exploring cultures. They explain in an easy manner but you’ll be learning a lot of topic specific vocabulary. And these shows are even interesting to watch as an adult! Then there are all the Astrid Lindgren film adaptations with the German dubbing turned on, they are brilliant! Some German Adult TV Shows would be - Tatort, Mord mit Aussicht (basically every a crime show for every Major City too…) - Die Kirche bleibt im Dorf (Swabian dialect) - Die Eberhofer-Filme (Bavarian Dialect) For those pros who want to go into regional dialects (southern Germany to be specific)
Your German is really good! I like that you learn my first language! Hearing you speak in my language is really nice because it isn't that exhausting for me to listen to you. I can understand everything you say because your German is so good. Greetings from Baden-Württemberg, in the middle between Stuttgart and München ☺️)
german series i would recommend: dark and for a bit of bavarian immersion rosenheim cops (it's a very lightheartet show about the police in a small bavarian town :)) you should be able to watch it in the zdf mediathek :))
German is actually easy and i realized it while learning it on Immersive translate. The app is user friendly and i guess it makes the language more easier
Jade, _well_ done, keep it up! Learning a new language is a long and challenging process but at the same time, it’s fun and extremely rewarding :) Oh, and about 7:35: those little bastard words that come before common nouns - ein, eine, eines, der, die, das &Co. - are in fact _articles_ (like ”a” and ”the” in English!), not prepositions. The latter are words like auf, an, in, zu, bei, vor, nach…, which usually express the relation (e.g. a spatial, temporal or causal one) between the noun or pronoun they refer to with other words around it in a sentence. But both are in fact quite tricky and mastering them in the end becomes a matter of practice and exposure, so your comment very much holds, regardless of what they’re called!🤪
Great video! I am learning German too. In addition to Netflix (where my favorite series is Kleo), I watch a couple of shows on ZDF: SOKO Stuttgart, which is a Krimi, and Bettys Diagnose, a medical soap opera. For a while I watched Sturm der Liebe (a soap opera) on ARD, which I really liked, but then they restricted it to only being available in Germany. I also read a lot of German literature (starting with children's books). On RUclips I like SWR Room Tour and various cat channels (and of course, easy German). Enjoy your trip!
thank you so much for this Jade! i seriously needed this, as i will be going to germany for my studies in august and although i will be studying a student kolleg in english, its still gonna be mandatory to learn german especially to live there. i wasnt sure how or where to start but with this video and the resources shared i feel alot better now and more eager to beguin learning this new language!
Hello. Your comment sounds truly relatable for me. I'm going to take an exchange semester in Germany too and I'm only starting my German learning as well. Don't you mind to exchange our contacts, so we can study together? ☺️
Recommendations for German. Advanced level, the RUclips channel from Aljosha. It's not for language learners but at level B2 or C1, you probably understand quite something. And he is such a lovely person. Otherwise for free: the RUclips series "Druck" about teenagers, also really good
Show recommendation: Mord mit Aussicht. It's a comedy policy series about three police officers living on the German countryside. It's so good! I've seen it as a teenager and am currently re-watching :) it's such an honest deep dive into German culture. The humour, "die Lebenseinstellung", German country life, ... It's available in the ARD Mediathek via VPN ☀ Edit: Just found out it's on Netflix too :)
Hey Jade. Not sure if it's been recommended before, but I would recommend a German political podcast called "Die Lage der Nation". They have a transcript as well, so you can read along. Plus it's a really good podcast. You sound great, btw. :)
As a German i am actually flabbergasted! Your pronounciation is extremely good on comparison to most foreign language speakers who've been learning German for years😱😅 All I can say is: „Wirklich nicht schlecht👍“😄
German is an interesting language. I was kind of stuck between the idea of learning Norwegian or German because they both sound amazing. Originally, I was going to pick Norwegian because I was told it was a much easier language to learn. But when I researched the language, I found out less than 5 million people worldwide speak it and there are very limited resources for learning it. So, I figured let me focus on German, plus I hear learning German opens doors for job opportunities. This is more of a hobby, let me see if I enjoy the language, great video and thanks for sharing.

I clicked on her channel just now and saw her moving to Germany three years ago, well, this is misleading

Druck is such a good German show available on RUclips! So easy to watch and very conversational language, so helps alot.

Netflix recommendation: "Dark" (yes, the title is English, but the entire show is German, and it has been made in Germany)
More like Peppa Wurtz and Bluey

oh Jade, I can recommend you the movie series "Die wilden Hühner" - das waren als Kind meine Lieblingsfilme und ich denke, sie könnten dir gefallen, vor allem weil es dort im ersten Film die Idee von "Marmeladenglasmomenten" gibt, die ein bisschen wie deine "casual magic" sind. Looking back, it's sometimes a bit cringe but still fun comforting old childhood movies with a nice aesthetic :)
gute idee 🥹!!
sehr gute Idee!! :D
Theres a german movie about a girl, she bonds with a horse and learns how to ride horses, if I remember right, if you have any idea about the movie title let me know please
@@edita8141 I think you mean Ostwind - she had red hair, right?
@@kindness.and.rainbows YES, it is Ostwind. Dankeee
Jade! I’ve been watching you for years, how lovely it is to hear you speak German! ❤️🇩🇪
Danke für deine Motivation du klingst schön!
Sehr cool deinen Prozess zu sehen !
lol you forgot to mention that you are Dutch. It’s like “I learned Italian in 15 days (I’m Spanish) lol
I don't think she's fluent in Dutch though, and even though some words might be comparable, the German grammar is hard for Dutch people too lol
She did mention briefly that she has a Dutch family in the beginning and how that helped her somewhat :)
A lot of Dutch people find German hard to learn
Yes ... I'm struggling to learn it at age 19
Thank you for the guidance that you have given to us viewers❤ hope your journey goes well🎉😊
I'm starting to learn arabic too ❤❤
Hii am Mira ,my mom language is Arabic ,and currently am learning Germany,so If by any chance ur a German I would be so happy to paractice our learning language together I’ll help and u too ✨
Lots of love from Konstanz; Hannah
Du machst das großartig! Danke für die Motivation❤
Jade you know , I was thinking about you !! ❤ I love your videos especially when I am studying for exams , after 3 days, I am 12 grade
Omg, you re amazing
Ive started learning German like a month ago, and your videos really inspired me to learn harder
Thank you!!!
Thx Jade ☺
Lingoda, if you see this: we need Portuguese classes please 🙏🏻🥲
Du hast wirklich bereits eine sehr gute Aussprache und kannst dich schon gut ausdrücken. Mach weiter so! 🙂
Sound so cool to hear you speak german!
pls can we get a notion tour!!
Your german is incredibly impressive!
also I was about to suggest Babylon Berlin but you already know!! I love the range of accents in there too, and that song in the first episode is so goood
that intro in german was good. great job
About Show recommendations: these will technically all be children’s shows, but they are very beloved by many Germans (and are a good conversation point since they made up our entire childhood)
These all are like knowledge Shows explaining things (like how Instruments are made) or exploring cultures. They explain in an easy manner but you’ll be learning a lot of topic specific vocabulary. And these shows are even interesting to watch as an adult!
Then there are all the Astrid Lindgren film adaptations with the German dubbing turned on, they are brilliant!
Some German Adult TV Shows would be
- Tatort, Mord mit Aussicht (basically every a crime show for every Major City too…)
- Die Kirche bleibt im Dorf (Swabian dialect)
- Die Eberhofer-Filme (Bavarian Dialect)
For those pros who want to go into regional dialects (southern Germany to be specific)
So gorgeous in this video. The color palette of your eyes, makeup, accessories…😍
Wow, richtig gut!! Congrats 🎉🎉🎉 greetings from a bilingual child (half German, half Scottish) ❤
(Your German is really good!
Dein deutsch ist sehr gut! Sehr bewundernswert, wie diszipliniert du bist
German is actually easy and i realized it while learning it on Immersive translate. The app is user friendly and i guess it makes the language more easier
Jade, _well_ done, keep it up! Learning a new language is a long and challenging process but at the same time, it’s fun and extremely rewarding :)
Oh, and about 7:35: those little bastard words that come before common nouns - ein, eine, eines, der, die, das &Co.
This made my day, I started Portuguese and I’ve always loved your videos so I was so buzzed when I ran into this!!
Wow I'm German and I love your pronouncination and dedication. German is not easy to learn and really appreciate your effort
Auf Netflix kann ich die Thriller-Serie Liebes Kind empfehlen. Viel Erfolg weiterhin beim Lernen!
Otherwise for free: the RUclips series "Druck" about teenagers, also really good
I love that your ring matches your eyes, it’s so pretty
Show recommendation: Mord mit Aussicht. It's a comedy policy series about three police officers living on the German countryside. It's so good! I've seen it as a teenager and am currently re-watching :) it's such an honest deep dive into German culture. The humour, "die Lebenseinstellung", German country life, ...
It's available in the ARD Mediathek via VPN ☀
Edit: Just found out it's on Netflix too :)
A super fun, "easy" to understand German series (enemies to lovers): Maxton Hall!
That is insane. I was thinking to learn new language and you posted this.
As someone who's trying to learn German... THANK YOU JADE!
Sternstunde Philosophie!!
Hey Jade. Not sure if it's been recommended before, but I would recommend a German political podcast called "Die Lage der Nation". They have a transcript as well, so you can read along. Plus it's a really good podcast. You sound great, btw. :)
This is so inspirational omg I needed a language learning video. I wish lingoda had a Dutch course!
German series to watch: maxton hall, türkisch für anfänger, doctors diary!❤😊
Not learning German but my aim over summer is to learn some basic French and BSL, thanks for the video!
Thank you so much for this video 😊
You’ve almost definitely seen it but that sci-fi show dark is soooo good
watch maxton hall. It's very dramatic but I loved it. And it's a German show so you'll definitely learn some words from it😘
Fight for paradise (tv show) in Netflix and also Liebe Kind (a movie), you’re gonna love em
I recommand you the series :
- Das Haus Anubis
- Hotel 13
