I attended A1 Kurs at my University and used Duolingo in conjunction. I knew the vocabulary but putting sentences together was a challenge until I started working in a part-time job where I was forced to speak German with my colleagues at work. It was challenging but it paid off .
I'm at a B2 level in German. I studied using the "Learn with German Stories" app from the Playstore, and it was very effective for me. I learned German through stories.
Im so nervous. My husband’s German and we’re moving to Germany next year with our kid, I really wanna learn cuz I don’t wanna depend on him 100% of the time 😅😢
My advice. Listen to a beginner podcast in the car everyday during ur commute. Write down what you learned at the end of each day before bed. After 3 months, find a beginner website or online course you enjoy and go through the course everyday until you move to Germany. Multiple times if you can. And in the last 6 months while you’re doing that course, listen and watch native content in the background throughout the day. 👍🏾
You dont have to worry that much. As long as we understand what you are trying to say, you’re good. It’s quite normal for German speakers to talk to foreigners and understanding them due to the high immigration

I learned English C1 level as a second language through a decade of school education. After A2, I am about to start Deutsch B1 , and I miss how it was acceptable to learn English slowly but as a third language I only have a year + maybe half to finish B1 Deutsch . I miss English for Toad books , wishing there was German for today books and a ton of time.

Hello Max, Thank you for the video and guidance. Very useful. After listening to it, it gives comfort that we can achieve the goal of learning German. A small help if I can please ask - could you please share the list of A1 vocab? Sorry to ask you but it will be very helpful for us. Thank you.
I am learning German with a teacher, 3 hours a week. Of course that's not enough so I try to learn this language the same way I learnt english: by listening to RUclips videos. Problem is that I barely understand things in german and therefore that's not viable - you have to know basic language in order for the RUclips technique to work. It feels like I'm learning chinese :((( it's such a hard language and many things don't make sense. Even A1 youtube videos seem hard:/
Hey Max. Do you plan to do any B level courses? Im currently doing ur A1 course and will definitely continue my studies via ur A2 course when I’m done with A1
