    It angers me how GoT dissapeared from our pop culture due to the show ending poorly. So many interesting stories and details go to waste because of an ending that made most people not care anymore.

      Exactly.

    • @TheDrexxus
      @TheDrexxus 2 года назад +22

      That is just how pop culture works though.
      After it's "over" it more or less fades away aside from sporadic references and fond memories.
      It is kind of like Star Wars. When the original movies came out, it was Star Wars fever all over the place and everyone wanted a piece, but after Return of the Jedi, it began to die down. By the time the prequels came around, it was basically like a piece of history/trivia and there had been many references to it over the years but thats about it. During the prequels, it was crazy town all over again with video games, comic books, new toy lines, etc. Then it began to die down again. And then the sequels, once again crazy while it is "in" and then its over. Unfortunately the sequels sucked too, so it is even further removed from the public consciousness.
      Thats just how people work. Just wait until one of those prequel series for GOT starts airing on HBO and people will get interested again.

At some point, the brothers of the night's watch found out that Danny was a girl when she was bathing and they were quick to break their vows. At Nightfort, the same brothers that lived with her took away her honour along with her life. It is believed that her ghost is haunting the Nightfort to this day. I hadn’t really been that interested in the Wall/The North previously, but revisiting ASOIAF has piqued my interest in the 19 castles. It’s such an interesting element to the lore and I had incorrectly assumed they were all built and garrisoned at the same time. They really need to make ASOIAF into an animated series, they could cover so much more ground that way

    Westeros has its version of Nepal in there!
    After signing a treaty with British,Nepal gave up its claims on the plain lands . It got only tall Himalayas and mountains…. Just like “The Wall” .
    After few years British gave back 2/3 of plain lands to Nepal because of claims and diplomacy … Like Brandon’s gift…
    Then few decades later, Nepal got back remaining lands because Nepal was crucial ally to maintain British colonies of India …We call it “New Country” .. Our version of New Gifts …

  • @fuckoffgoogle1657

    All the castles have ice stairs to the top of the wall as far as I can tell. Sam Tarley says he hates the lift more than the stairs at castle black. If you think about it, it’d be pretty stupid to only have unmanned lifts for access at the other locations since they require mules or horses to operate

    I would've combined all 19 castles into 1 giant castle for every member to maintain, thus created more first builders, first rangers, and lord stewards, and under them stewards, rangers, and builders. With the small group I'd reach out for more bastards, second, and third sons, exiled lords while maintaining a steady stream of criminals for the wall. Samwell Tarley is an example of an exiled lord.

    • @irarelyupload6930
      @irarelyupload6930 2 года назад +2

      One giant castle would be much harder to maintain and wouldn't be useful at all. The castles exist to look out for wildings and white walkers, so having one big castle in the middle would be dumb, since they could just go around it.

    • @williamoconnell1233
      @williamoconnell1233 2 года назад

      irarelyupload that's why they're going to have watch towers to keep watch on them, and any crow not on them will be at both sides of it's gates, and on the wall. Their quarters will be underground except for the lord commander, and his officers. Their sleep will be rotated. Night watchers will sleep during the day, and day watchers will sleep at night. They will switch at every dawn, and dusk with their weapons at the ready. They will have staircase going up, and down just under the lord commander's stateroom. His officers will have staterooms themselves.

    It’s sad that Jon a boy as green as summer grass is more knowledgeable about economics and defense of his position than most previous Lord Commanders. If he survives and continue his command I can see him establishing villages of around 200 or so ppl at 17 of the forts and 30 or so farms to support each village. I believe he’d also build 2 port towns 1 at East Watch and another near Shadow Tower of around 4k at the former and 2k at the latter with around 250-300 farms supporting each town. Then assigning those who don’t want to farm or fish as ranchers tending to rabbits, chickens, boars, goats, reindeer, steers, mammoths, horses and other type of pack animals. Then the building of a shipyard with the help of skagosi and white harbor shipbuilders to build and sell ships to Braavos and others. Then the creation of greenhouses made from wood like in Korea instead of glass to be provide food during the winter and spices during other times. Lastly a centralized bank like the Iron Bank to be called the Bank of Westeros by outsiders by the Ice Bank to others.

    • @georgepayne4969

      @@georgepayne4969 hanji greenhouses used during the 1400s during the Joseon Dynasty. The floor was heated using a stove and the walls were made out of wood and transparent paper oiled up to make it waterproof. I would’ve at clay pipes underground and poured water into the stoves and have the steam pumped through the pipes keeping the ground warm so it won’t freeze and let the steam come out and fall back down as warm water so the ground surface will not freeze either. Dry wood can be stored underground or animal dung can be used as fuel. Coming from the Near East and living so long I’m sure Melisandre would’ve mentioned it and Jon would’ve agreed being more practical than importing glass and slaves from Myr.

    I am not saying i would come up immediately with comcepts of AC DC motors but fire would be a great start and boiling water...
