Just purchased a new 2020 model in red on Friday. Dealer is installing a rear fender eliminator kit and delivering it this week. I can hardly focus on anything else until it comes!
@@johncarloLR in two states this was the only one I could find. All the dealers I talked to said they hadn't received any 21's yet...seemed odd but the red really does pop!
@@williamdavis4809 yep my dealership sold out in a few weeks for the 2021 CBR650R. Good thing I knew the sales man and he messaged me they only had 1 left. I'm inlove with it!

@@upnorth5465i have cbr650r for my first bike its totally fine for a first bike. Its a very forgiving bike. Its all dependant on the person im 40 with kids and no need to show off to anyone.
Comparing your CBR650r to the Triple, what are the things you miss about the triple in comparison. Example: Does the smooth linear throttle of the 650R seem better than the lurch/lunge from the Triple or do you miss that about the Triple?
That's a good question. Although the 650R's power band is very gentlemanly, it does sometimes make me miss the on demand power of the triple. The 650R can take you there... but just in a domesticated way haha. Another thing I appreciate about the triple is its sound. The 650R inline 4 can scream when you open it up, and it really does come down to preference, but the triple is so distinct. The factory brembo brakes on the triple is also a big plus. That being said, I haven't had much to complain about regarding the Nisin brakes on my bike. I would pick the 650r in the looks department anyday over the triple, but again, that's also preference. Cheers!
Changing the tires on this bike makes a huge improvement for handling. I have this same bike and just changed the tires this week. Its a whole new bike now. The stock tires are cheap and don't last long.
@@williamdavis4809 I got Dunlop Roadsmart IV tires. I put 800kms on them in 3 days and they have been great. I can hold my speed through any corner. Significant improvement over the stock tires.
I had no choice but to change because 500km into owning the bike my rear got punctured by a staple... haha. I have the Michelin Road 5 on the rear now. No complaints!
@@upnorth5465 sooo.... the waiting got the better of me and I ended up getting an rs660. I ordered one through their website and it got to the dealership in about 30 days. I ended up having to have it shipped to my house since the closest dealership was out of state but it was still quicker than waiting on the cbr. Just for the record, alot of the big youtube channels have said the rs660 is not a beginner friendly bike, but I think it's better characterized by saying it not a very "beginner friendly". That being said, I don't honestly think it's really that unapproachable.
when i'm cruising with 200+ km/h with this bike my mirrors are bending lol. I mean I know for sure when I started blasting the bike my view was perfect in the mirrors and a couple minutes later I can see only myself in the mirrors and have to re-adjust them. I tried tightening the screws on the mirror but they won't budge... oh yea, I dumped the stock tyres because I read a lot of bad critics and put on Road 5 tyres right from the beginning, bike feels like it's going on a rail :D
This review of daily practical use is what i was looking for. Surprised to learn it's best cruising speed without stressing the engine is at 85 mph only.. thanks

@@cliftonalbrightjr.2787 Ninja 650s twin is making 67 horsepower with a very tame twin motor not much fun and can quickly become boring. Relaxed sitting straight up rider triangle that’s not really aggressive at all. Mediocre suspension front and rear suspension with ok brakes. CBR650R in-line 4 with 94HP at 12,000 RPM. Inverted big piston forks, actual clip on bars, fairly aggressive riding position yet still comfortable, better brakes all around, 180 rear tire opens a lot of options for aftermarket, great cruising on the freeway vs a twin motor. The CBR is a bike you can grow into and quite possibly keep forever as it has more than enough power to keep you coming back for more. It’s kind of like comparing a basic economy car (ninja 650) to a v8 muscle car (Cbr650r) that can go tackle the track and tear up the streets at the same time. I personally wouldn’t even compare the 2.
@@ArizonaDesertRat426x I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it. Thank you. I’ve been looking at these two a lot and was trying to make a decision on which one to get. The economy car versus V8 muscle car comparison is a great analogy.
I bought it after i rode a ktmduke 125 for 3 years, i dont know if i would recommend it as your first bike because of the weight. This thing weighs almost 207kg and the first week you really need to get used to the amount of weight you are sitting on. But after that , it rides super comfortable. If you are really in to sportbikes, i guess this would be a great starter bike
If your after a starter sport bike. Get the cbr 500r. It's got everything you need and is 3k less. The 500r still has plenty of snot and tops out at 115mph.
I had 0 experience with motorbikes before, I didn't even ride a scooter like many kids back in back in highschool times, and I bought a cbr650r. I don't understand the people who say you shouldn't, even with 0 experience its so easy to ride this bike, put on some Road 5 tires and it will grip like hell. And if you struggle just practice slow cornering and swerving and stuff and live up to the bike.
I love the look of LED headlights, cuz it looks more sleek, but I miss the old halogen days where I can retrofit HID and projectors in. My CB500F's LEDs are horrendous, and downright dangerous to ride in the dark. Doesn't help that I'm spoiled with quad HID projectors in my car. I found a enclosed projectors that I'm planning on tucking it somewhere to hopefully be able to see at night.
I'm a old timer and the last inline I had was a GPZ 550. Yeah that's old. You do have to squeeze them to get what you want. Knowing that and being fuel injection I believe you just need to jump on it a little quicker and it will be just fine. Nice looking. I would love to hear from anyone about long distances comfort and what is available for luggage.
Here in Texas, I have the same exact bike. No complaints , I use it to commute about 60 miles round trip everyday. Beginner rider. And I feel PLENTY of power . If you’re trying to get going faster than 120-130mph than super sport might be the option, riding position most likely will change…hafta weigh that one out. This bike gets up and going fast for me
