Epic!!!!!!! I enjoyed this video very much, thank you Restored! Like a first seat in X-Box factory. It was nice to see all parts and the way how you solved problems along the way, you did an amazing work. Well done! Enjoy playing 😆👍
Awesome video, one of your best I think. Did not think I just watched 27mins, thought it was 20min. So many great shots and edits, too many to mention (envious). Man I burst out laughing at the front panel cracking in half 🤣 That was soo brittle!
Bought one for 25 euro. Found out later it is a limited edition crystal xbox. Modded it some time later and now has a 2tb hdd with hunderds of games on it ;)
This was an awesome video! At first, when you broke the fan clip, I was like "c'mon man! You have to be more careful!" But then everything else started breaking and I was like "Okay..." And then the faceplate broke and that was when I knew it wasn't your fault. By the way, it was really cool that you were able to take a v1.4 case and make it work for your version. Nice work! 👍
I have worked on several Original Xboxes and every once in a while I will get one where the plastic is very brittle like this. From what I recall it has been v1.6 boxes every time.
I opened one to do a recap (it was suddenly dead on the button), nothing broke but got scared off from trying to get the faceplate. No pre-snapped bits either. Its a v1.6 Crystal btw.
I've never seen that ever happen to an Xbox. Where was it from? Has to be from somewhere super hot and dry to mess up the plastic that much. Nice restoration. Thank you for preserving another Xbox. My favorite console. 😁
As in Dantes Inferno there are circles in hell and this might have been circle 5 because of the brittle shell😉 thanks for watching and leaving a comment mate👊
Beautiful video. Almost like an ASMR in some parts. When the brittle plastic kept snapping, it made me feel the opposite, like intense frustration ha ha. Wonderful camera angles too. Thank you for making it! Quick question: what kind of “vinyl spray” (cleaner?) and what type of adhesive did you use for the feet / labels? Many thanks
To all you restoration junkies out there... When you clean fans, never blow air into them and allow them to spin up. This can ruin them. Hold the fan blades still with your finger and then blow air into them, changing the blade position a few times. Then use cotton swabs and IPA to clean the hard dirt off.
Do you do any work for anybody that needs their consoles clean and restored??? I could defenetly pay for someone to fully restore and refurbished my console into brand new
When dissasembly in the past the xbox must have not been handled with care as the plastic should NOT be that brittle i have a 2002 2003 and a 2004 xbox they are no where near that brittle
I got one from a thrift shop, broke it all down, the rf shield was nasty. I sanded it and spray painted with automotive accessory paint. Purchased a motherboard and matching drive for $30 and have a great system now.

Can you provide me with a link to the adhesive rollers you used to glue down the rubber feet? It would be very helpful. Thanks so much!
