the interactions the two of you have while making props and the excitement you both have every step of the way always puts a smile on my face! keep up the great work you two!
@@punishedprops yes... yes it is. Have you beaten the librarian yet? I didn't think that was that hard a battle, but I was leveled up pretty far by the time I got there.
i was sitting here during a rewatch and going "man, these are all really simple shapes, this could be laser cut out of EVA foam in minutes and save them so much time" and then i realised i was missing thee point, the build is the fun bit for a lot of people, including bill and britt
love the build, they lok great. One suggestion for helping to cut thin leather like you used to wrap the handles in is to use a rotary cutter instead of a knife. Gives a much cleaner cut and it's way easier to use.
Worth it for the Python skit alone 😂 Sword looks great, the flat cartoon of it all is so pretty. Grand little gems with what might be the cheapest/ best vacuform setup I've ever seen 🙌
I really enjoying watching your videos. I wish I was half as skilled as you guys.. Two Thumbs up! Such great ideas. I know my grand kids want cool costumes this year. I'm might have to hire you guys! :)
By gum, I was just trying to tease out exactly how to put the blade together for my PSO Asuka last night and something like this just might fit the bill. Thank you!
Very reminiscent of 2D Zelda, I love it! Hopefully with the current relationship between Nintendo and Xbox this game will come to the Switch, it seems tailor made for a Nintendo system.
Aw man, as someone who loves foxes and runs Badfox Propz, I'm gonna have to check this out! And probably make these props. I feel like the rings on the cross guard would have been easier to use round half dowels glued end to end. Almost zero cutting and already rounded.
Tunic is so much fun. I managed to get to the end all by myself but I had to use some walkthroughs to figure out the secrets. (Trying to be spoiler free).
Could you maybe thin the ModPodge and spray it using a lever-action spray bottle (like you get kitchen and bathroom cleaner in)? It might need a few coats but would remove brush strokes.
the 3M masking unit is great, I use it in a larger more construction context for painting trim and walls and such, but yeah it's a tool that exists and it fits your needs, put it to use
My god is Bill quick at cranking out these projects, this games been out like 2 weeks. I'm still working on my 3d printed Aloy bow and I'm not talking about the bow from the 2022 game.
@@punishedprops It sure is! Started when the release trailer dropped and got a first rough version cadded and onto thingiverse pretty quick then didn't take the next step to getting it accurate enough for me
Question: Why not use a dowel or smaller PVC pipe to get the metal rod to fit inside the bigger PVC pipe? Seems like a lot of tape wasted to use as filler?
I really want to see a TUNIC sword-shield replica with the kind of quality you'd see in a mall anime store, with actual metal and sized for adult use. Not to say that's _good_ quality, but TUNIC is about the only game I'd willingly (and willfully) display mall ninja replica swords from.
Is the flame decal on the fire extinguisher yours or theirs? Because I love the idea of a fire extinguisher decorated to imply that a huge flame is the desired outcome.
I'm thinking of making a bow from foam (this is my first time making any prop 🥲) do you know if 10 mm foam can just stand by itself without support? Also it'll be around maybe 1 metre long maybe
What bandsaw blade do you use for getting such smooth cuts with foam? I have a 9” bandsaw with a 62inch blade, but I think my blade is much too rough and has too many offset teeth.
I like working with TNT foam but the only problem I have with it is every time I use my hotwire cutter to cut the foam the TNT foam always explodes I wonder why 💣💥
Great build, but does that seam in the middle is the shield bother anyone else? Normally he is so much more meticulous with fixing seams to be totally smooth
this is an awesome build! I haven't played Tunic (yet) but it looks cool. Have you actually tried Gorilla polyurethane Glue in your Props? I've seen others using it for gluing eps foam, but I don't know how it reacts with closed cell nbr foam.
I find it funny you had to redo the glue up of the handle bc the glue cured to fast because that exact same thing happened to me yesterday. I had to re 3D print 2 parts of my witcher sword bc I tried to glue them with stuff on hand and it cured to fast and the internal rods went all the way in. I had to break the print trying to free them. I now have to just start completely over with new rods and actual 5 minute epoxy bc work time is very important who would have known.

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing. =)
Oh my goodness! I loooooooooved Tunic! Couldn’t put it down until I beat it and I still have a ton more to figureout
Us too!! I'm super close to finishing the whole game, but I *know* I missed a lot of secrets.
The Monty Python but at the end had me! You make me want to try this foam thing. I have your books I just need the time. Love you guys!
Thanks for the video. Great build and I like the Mounty Python skit at the end. Keep safe and stay well.
Ha! Thanks! =D
I got into this game last week... its sooo good... very classic legend of zelda.
Isn't it fantastic?!

So glad I watched to the end! Great Holy Grail homage! You beautiful whacky people ^_^
Bills energy is always on top form and Brit does some awesome design work
Thank you so much!
Great to get back to basics! Love the simplicity of the gem. And the ending clips are so funny 🤣
We had a lot of fun filming this one. =)
Nice build! +1
Tunic looks fun - downloading to the xbox now! TY for supporting artists & makers, Finji.
"edit": and the Monty Python bit at the end had me ROTFL!
You two always manage to bring a smile to my face with your projects😊 I love your work, Bill and Britt!
Thank you so much!
I literally just finished writing my script for my video review of the game. This is a delight to see in my subscription feed!
Ooh so exciting!

Came for the knife ad, wasn't disappointed! :)
Looked like you guys had so much fun putting all this together!
We had SO MUCH fun! =)
I love how much fun you two have while doing this!
Cool sponsor, the game looks awesome as do the props you made... also love the familiar little skit at the end too.
Thank you so much!
Great build! Love the nod to Monty Python. 🤣
Thanks!
Great work! love the Monty Python gag at the end lol
love the build, they lok great. One suggestion for helping to cut thin leather like you used to wrap the handles in is to use a rotary cutter instead of a knife. Gives a much cleaner cut and it's way easier to use.
That's a great tip!
Britt would be the most adorable fox :3
Nice new heat gun!!!!! That sucker is awesome!!
I love the incredibly cartoony look of these! Nice job as always
Aren't they adorable?! =)
Didn't hear about this game and now I have to have it!
Oh my god, the Monty Python call back had me laughing! Thank you for that!
You're welcome!
I just started playing Tunic a couple days ago! I love it so much, What perfect timing!
That's wonderful! =)
Watching you build is legit my meditation. So relaxing.
Neat work, it was great to see what can be achieved with just simple tools and materials. (And that hilarious Monty Python reference at the end!)
Expert craftership! (and you two are adorable)
Thanks!
What an awesome build. You make foam smithing look so effortless. Thank you for putting out such amazing videos!
A great set of adorable props.

I have to say, I love those props and videos you are making. I started making stuff 3 years ago, and your work is really really helpfull.
Thank you
That's wonderful! Thanks for your kind words.
they came out amazing
Nice and you caught the comic style perfectly!
Awesome video! And a brilliant starter project!
I enjoyed this build. I actually have all the tools you used for this so I might actually give it a go. Anyway, take care you guys.
Love a good Holy Grail reference, and that was a great Holy Grail reference.
Oh my god that Holy Grail gag at the end. I'm dead. XD

Hot diggity! Happy to help. =)
Awesome Build!! Paint turned out amazing
Thank you!
Thank you so much for this build. I love the game. I may have to try this bunch after con crunch
Love to see y’all! It always makes my day when my two favorite creators release a build video! Also what exact type of band saw blade do you use?
Thanks! For foam I usually use an 18 TPI metal cutting blade.
@@punishedprops Thanks! I’ve been building non stop for years thanks to your dragon con build! You changed my life!

That was a pretty satisfying video. I quite enjoyed it, thank you.
You're welcome!
Purely by coincidence the sound at 26:46 sounds just like the monoliths in tunic when you activate them lol
So glad you noticed :D We used the sound from the game for that part of the edit!

@48:04 well that escalated quickly!

Another great video guys! Love it
I was MINDBLOWN by using paper to avoid that the foam pieces stick prematurely! It's such a simple trick but I never thought of it!
Nice! =)

Holy cow that is a lot of tape. Why not wrap with foam?
I think the tape provided a more solid connection, but I bet foam would get the job done too.
@@punishedprops I loved the project. I probably have a few spare tent poles
Question: Why not use a dowel or smaller PVC pipe to get the metal rod to fit inside the bigger PVC pipe? Seems like a lot of tape wasted to use as filler?
The tape was my first idea and I just ran with it.

Great build. A tutorial on fixing my dodge button after playing Tunic would also be good.
OH MY FINGERS. I don't ever wanna see Bill using a belt saw again.

Gotta love the mall ninja stores!
Recently got a small bandsaw like that for foam work, are there any specific types of blades I should use or don't use?
Nice to see the classic Monty Python jokes are still alive. Will you do a Fox mask next?

Great as always, but is she really that much taller than Bill or is she standing on a block?
I like working with TNT foam but the only problem I have with it is every time I use my hotwire cutter to cut the foam the TNT foam always explodes I wonder why 💣💥
I've never used a hot wire cutter on EVA foam. A knife and/or bandsaw have always been more than enough and are probably quicker.
@@punishedprops you should try it. it's like using a hot knife to cut through butter. I used to use it for my models for landscapes before I gave up
Great build, but does that seam in the middle is the shield bother anyone else? Normally he is so much more meticulous with fixing seams to be totally smooth
Just out of curiosity, did you consider casting the gems in resin, and if so, why did you decide not to? Fantastic work, by the way.
Casting would have worked too. We enjoy showing a wide range of techniques.
Pommel trick:
Odin from Odin Makes uses round cat toys for pommel and other round bits.
Not sure it'd apply here but perhaps in the future.
That's a really great idea! =)
That's a weird coincedence lol I'm currently doing a playthough of tunic. My mate loves it aswell
That's fantastic! =)
If you would rather not create more dust, 10mm triangular dowel would work great for "sharp" sword edges without needing to sand.
Great idea!
You guys should get some of the cat toys Odin makes uses
