Wow!!! This utterly tremendous. I just stumbled on this randomly. Everyone is playing superbly. I was at the Spotted Cat in 2013. I thought both the sousaphone (Tom Saunders) and saxophone (Jope Braun) players both sounded very Sidney Bechet-like and I doubt that was a coincidence. :) This was 'godly' and I'm an atheist!
This place seems a little sedate., but band is too cool. So very much in touch and regular. The way the hit the notes o the back side which draws the tone out nto that vacant space between. I really love these cats.
Are they ever going to release that album that started with “mean to me” as track 1? Impossible to find online. So frustrating. Their best song and it’s invisible.

Once upon a time would see New Orleans Jazz Vipers play at the Spotted Cat on Frenchman - that was phenomenal.
