I would love to see someone create a power source for the entire base. This is relatively simple given some blast furnace engines I've seen with the Create Mod, but even so you still have to rig everything up in a sensible manner, and perhaps this would allow you to make a neat design or a nicely decorated room for the power generation.

A suggestion on how to improve this: The system you had with the lectern is overly complicated. A much simpler way is to have them all attached to a linear chassis that moves back and forth depending on the lectern. Regarding the encoding and decoding of the redstone you could have a hidden chassis that has a signal strength encoded into it, and when it detects that the signal strength of the lectern is not equal to the contraption one it would move x blocks accordingly.

i think what will help improve a design is to make the door cover lower down one block when its fully retracted to make sure the grass cover doesnt become dirt

I remember once I made a huge subterranean base under a castle
There was a secret door in the form of a sliding bookshelf I made with Create that worked exactly like your big cirular grass hatch, I was very proud of it

if you use a tripwire hook after you use the master key you could make sure you got in before it closes
example: put the trip wire hook after the door and you could make it send off a signal to close the door then you would never get stuck outside and try it again

You know that the create mod have tools like the symmetry wand and the creative world shaper, which actually have GUI, unlike world edit, and are much easier to use, right?

WorldEdit is better to use in most cases, for the reason that it *doesn't* have a GUI. Sure, if you don't know the commands, the create mod tools might be easier, but typically WorldEdit is faster.
