So…I’ve been working on a Warhammer/Overlord crossover in which the main concept is that Ainz and Nazarick are replaced by Warhammer Characters called Overlordhammer Fantasy Battles. Would I recommend reviewing it? If anything, if it sucks, you could have a funny video making fun of it. Or just ignore this comment, you don’t have to
Or that there is only a *very* small amount of fantasy in general that is entirely original and not just adapted or stolen from a myth. Really myths are the most original fantasy because they are not inspired (mostly) by wanting to create a fake world, but by rationalizing the real world
greecian mythology is wack. zeus, the leader and judge/jury of the gods literally fucks anything that moves. the god of the underworld is honestly a pretty chill dude and is the coolest part of the myths. don't even get me started on lord of the rings lore either. Sauron is basically an allegory for stalin's """industrialization""" attempts on the USSR that literally drained an entire fucking lake, and there is a whole prequel series called the Silmarillion that is the most cool and interesting backstory for a setting i've ever heard. Tolkien was on something (probably PTSD induced nightmares from his time in the trenches) when he wrote this shit out
The giant divine cow found a big ass salt lick and went to town on it. And that is how the father of the Aesir was born. Hera was breastfeeding one of her children who happened to be teething, he bit down on her titty and it FUCKING EXPLODED!! Creating all the me starts in the night sky Zeus sewed a baby into his ballsack so that the baby could form, he used his ballsack as a makeshift womb. I don’t remember why Hera couldn’t have unbirthed the kid, but there you go. Loki is the mother of Slepnir, Odins 6 legged horse becaue he tempted away a man’s prize horse by transforming into a mare and leading it away… and apparently the prize horse got the better of him.
I think he hates khorne especially because they have a great immunity to psychic/magic powers. The sons of behemat are tanky, yes, but you are able to range them down; of course depending on the army you play.
I love how in lore that in order to talk to a gargant to hire them as a mercenary you have to talk to them at eye level (which usually involves climbing to the top of a mountain) because they refuse to bend down.
It's said that Behemat fathered 4 children. Each would go on to become the first Beastsmasher, Gatebreaker, Kraken-Eater, and Warstomper. Their names were Fe, Fi, Fo, and Fum, respectively.
I love massive unit armies if only because they feel like a boss fight for the opponent, no matter who wins, it’ll be a goddamn spectacle in your mind’s eye.
A lot of people get salty over bigger armies, but it feels cool to have your guys slay some big ass monster. They also look cool on the table in general
I’m perpetually in a state of “maybe” when it comes to making an army of the chungus lords because they’re just cool enough for me to want to but buying making and painting those minis is just enough for me to doubt the desire
You can actually play a smaller Gargant in games of warcry this way you don't have to spend and paint too much for your first try. though you'd have to ally them with another destruction faction like orgers or orks.

@Jerry No. Most armies can win when played well in AoS, and most armies can put out the damage to kill a Megagargent in a turn. @@ericsteenbergen9470 Who knows! That's half the fun, theorizing. I assume he reacted specifically towards us, seeing as we're most likely not the first person to have wandered in after a couple hundred or thousand years.
Alwaysed loved giants in any media, just the concept of big stompy monstrous humanoids, or even just big monsters in general, has always been so cool to me. Even if I never make an army of them I'm definitely making a Frost Giant version of one of these boys at some point. Definitely think they could use a bit of spice on the tabletop, maybe beasts they subjugate or other monstrous forces you can take with them or even some more ranged options but as rightly pointed out sometimes you just want to walk up with 4 titans and smash things to the ground.
One bit of spice I would like to see is a female giant. Apparently they take the roles of shamans and storytellers. Which tells me you could have giant wizards and chaplains. Seeing more tribalistic robes made from random cow leathers and held together by trees as sewing needles would be pretty aesthetic. Not to mention just the idea of a wizard with 30-40 wounds is hilarious
@@woodlefoof2 honestly yeah that sounds really cool and definitely thematic to the idea of an army of giants, just this massive giant witch with tribal magic tattoos carved into her skin and maybe various human sized items strewn about almost like charms and such Lots of potential
Their lore does note they keep some pets like two-headed hounds the size of cathedrals. And then there’s all the various types of gargants through the Realms like necromancer and zombie titans in Shyish, an insect king in Ghyran and Chamon has noted mega-gargants stomping around while covered in armor plates. So they got some potential variety done the line besides the mentioned Daughters of Behemat for mainstay casters.
It really would not work, especially with most factions just being copy paste from fantasy and then left to be abandoned. It could work for a traditional rts though with stormcast, chaos warriors, vampire counts, and orcs.
This is my army! I haven't even seen the video yet and it is the greatest thing ever. Edit: I have seen it now and can confirm this was the best thing ever.
The Aeolipile was an early Steam Engine designed around 100BCE-100CE in Alexandria and described by Vitruvius and Hero of Alexandria. It consisted of a sealed bronze vessel hooked with two pipes coming out the top leading to form the axis of a sphere. Said sphere had two (possibly more) nozzles on either side angled out on it’s central meridian. When a fire was lit under the Aeolipile, steam would come up the pipes, into the sphere and go out the nozzles spinning it around. While it worked, it was also impractical as anything other than a novelty. It was too fuel inefficient and the steam that it spewed out could be lethal if it was scaled up or the pressure increased. In some ways, the limited strength of bronze. The first practical steam engine was made about 17 centuries latter by Thomas Savery in 1698, a basic pumping device. Thomas Newcomen would develop a slightly better steam engine in 1712 which used a piston, using steam to push it up and cooling the water down with a spritz of cold water. It was still grossly inefficient and basically only useful for pumping out flooded coal mines. Between 1765 and 1776 Scottish inventor James Watt refined the design using reciprocating motions and high-pressure steam. The Watt Steam Engine would find uses in other areas such as factories and would soon be refined to be used on ships and to pull trains.
Thank you for including the bit about how the Aeolipile was essentially a dead end technology wise. While reports of people ALLEGEDLY making engines off of the design would occasionally pop up in the ensuing centuries, the basic problems of the damn thing essentially only having enough energy to power it's own movement and more or less being a water rocket means that it ain't a good thing to base your fantasy shit off of. That being said, I DID just have an idea for using an Aeoliple to cook food, which would certainly be an interesting though no doubt gimmicky use.
@@drdiabeetus4419while exact design of Aeolipile is indeed dead end, its principle, namely converting steam into rotation is basis for steam turbines, where instead of whole engine rotating, steam makes turbine shaft with blades rotate.
" Play an army because it is Fun, not Meta." - Best way to play wargames of any kind ^^ Absolutly loved the video, Sons Of Behemat are just generally fun and uncomplicated. Gotta admit the cost per model stings a bit, but it's worth it due to them being able to be run as an army, or to tag onto another army as you mentioned as you get them. I do not regret getting them, although I am still missing King Brodd and Beast-Smasher. Just gotta mention, gargants call stormcasts "Shiny Squishies" which i find hilarious.
*Tells a story that sounds like a mix of norse and greek mythology, and that could pass for either* I wish our mythology was half as interesting as this
The best thing about the SoB is that they allow the opposing army to feel like the Survey Corps. In both the good and the bad ways. Sacrifice your hearts!
I just think there was a lot of missed potential in the "gargants" again just being giant humans. And I'm not talking just making them giant greenskins either (which i think would still make more sense). I feel there is alot you could do. Going an elemental route is an obvious choice, but even just adding cyclops, Hecatoncheires, or just really making them their own thing. Distinguishable without being related to their size.
I honestly might grab one or two Gargants purely because of how funny their rules are. Grab a guy and throw him at an enemy unit, kill a bunch of enemies when you die by flattening them with your corpse, just fucking boot an objective marker away from the enemy. Glorious.
When i think of space elves, i think of plant based organic technology, like the jurai front tenchi muyo, the plot is trash, but i love the design. Fells very alien! There is normal electronic looking (maybe?), cristal based that i imagine beig some sort of nanomachine and jurai have a orbital elevator thats basicaly a tree! A giant tree going all the way to space.
I watched this while shifting in and out of consciousness while waking up and the only part that I was awake for was 22:40. Thank you for that, I'll be mentioning this to my therapist.
I wonder if there is a Son out there with a gloriously magnificent red mane and braided beard that squashes everyone to death with a giant manhole cover…? 🧐
The power of giants would impress me. If it wasn’t for one of the key requirements of being an ogre tyrant being to be able to wrestle a giant to the ground.
Speaking of Meta it should be noted that as an army of nothing but giant monsters they can get fucked over (like they are currently) by the seasonal rules from the Generals handbook that prioritize some kinds of units over others. Last season was infantry and this season its non legendary foot heroes with less than 10 wounds both things the gargants dont have any of to score with. They might get lucky if we get another monster season but be aware that as a skew army you have limited options.
In terms of the grand alliance of destruction the gargants have to be among my favorites. "OY! YOOS LOOKIN' AT ME?! I'S SMAH YOOS GOOD AND TAKE YER LOOT!"
Fun fact that is unrelated. Part of the reason God flooded the world in Noah’s time was because giants and sorcerers had taken over mankind. The flood was supposed to kill them all, but whenever the jews from that point met wizards they didn’t like, like ones in Egypt, or fought against football players like Goliath, they would assume that god’s flood missed a spot. Out of all the people that could survive a FLOOD, tall and smart people are usually the most likely.
Honestly, I wish there were more giant monsters in AoS. Like, don't get me wrong, there are a LOT to choose from, but the selection still feels lacking. I'm talking giant sguigasaurs for the orks and goblins. More big dinos and mutants for the lizard, rats, and chaos. More dragons in the form of wyrms, wyverns, and drakes. Etc. Basically I want more options for Godzilla vs king Kong in my war games. The giants fill that roll and I love that for them and me, and I am so close to starting a gloomspite army at the same time as a giant army just so I can have this weird mixed third army just for giggles
See also Beasts of Chaos, where you can run Cygors and Ghorgons as Battleline, if you choose the right subfaction. That same subfaction makes Cygors Priests, so you can cause earthquakes every round.
Well FW use to have the gigantic cave squig. Gobbos are what got me into Warhammer in the first place, they are so much fun to collect and paint ( especially the old 90's Kev Adams sculpts), and the new rules have actually made them a viable army now
@@josephskiles I saw those new rules and that's what got me thinking about starting up with them. I'm totally cool for giant spider while I pray for squigasaurus rex in the future
@@Lunch_Meat yeah the spiders are cool, I have some riders but I really need to expand my collection of them ( as well as some more squigs). Sadly FW got rid of all of the wacky models like the Trogg Hag which to this day was one of my favorite things I've painted and kitbashed other goofy stuff on. What armies do you currently collect?
@@josephskiles damn shame about those FW models. They do such great builds for these things. Currently I actually don't have an army. I use to play 40k orks and I was going to start a orc and gobbo army back before end times happened, but then life happened and I put all those things on the shelf. I've been itching to get back into it though and the gobs have always had my heart. I even played grot rebels in gorkamorka way back
As someone who has built most of his armies second hand from flea markets and eBay, I almost never see these guys for sale or at a good deal. Anyone who has been collecting miniatures for a while can tell you about the time they found a box of space marines at goodwill for $3, but these guys just tend to stick with collectors who know their worth. Plus they're a pain to strip if you want to repaint them because you need to break apart each limb to fit in a jar of cleaner. On the bonus, you are going to get so many extra bits you can effectively kitbash another one or have some neat parts for terrain or kitbashing. Especially the older kits of smaller gargants.
I have commitment issues and have a faction in each grand alliance but destruction and I bought a mega gargant for my beasts of chaos and this just made me decide that I’m going to just buy the other two alliances mega gargant and just roll a sons army for destruction
I'd love for GW to add some bits from the Albion Giants into it...considering things that those immortal idiots made it through means they're probably still wandering around with the duo that got off of Albion before the mists closed up again, and you have the ones back home which could, theoretically, still be intact and around

@moobles2998 Oh yeah that whole sequence made the NG+ experience almost melancholy. A perfect Dark Souls moment.
Though that begs the question: Was he hollow? Would he be hostile to anyone who entered his cell... Or is it just you?
@@woodlefoof2 honestly yeah that sounds really cool and definitely thematic to the idea of an army of giants, just this massive giant witch with tribal magic tattoos carved into her skin and maybe various human sized items strewn about almost like charms and such
Lots of potential
Their lore does note they keep some pets like two-headed hounds the size of cathedrals.
And then there’s all the various types of gargants through the Realms like necromancer and zombie titans in Shyish, an insect king in Ghyran and Chamon has noted mega-gargants stomping around while covered in armor plates.
So they got some potential variety done the line besides the mentioned Daughters of Behemat for mainstay casters.
Glad to see a fellow giant enthusiast! I always preferred them over dragons for many reasons.
I like King Brodd, but the lore teases Sons of Behemat Matriarchs, and I was hoping that there'd be a model with the second battletome.
Honestly your AOS videos have warmed me to the setting. I hope we get an AOS total war after fantasy now
It really would not work, especially with most factions just being copy paste from fantasy and then left to be abandoned. It could work for a traditional rts though with stormcast, chaos warriors, vampire counts, and orcs.
This is my army! I haven't even seen the video yet and it is the greatest thing ever.
Edit: I have seen it now and can confirm this was the best thing ever.
“I wish our myths could be half as interesting as this”
*me knowing a lot of our myths consist of giants and vomiting and pooping and stuff*
I have no idea what this has to do with age of sigmar giants, but this is bad ass as fuck! Thanks for sharing Mr. Zor.
" Play an army because it is Fun, not Meta." - Best way to play wargames of any kind ^^
Absolutly loved the video, Sons Of Behemat are just generally fun and uncomplicated.
*Tells a story that sounds like a mix of norse and greek mythology, and that could pass for either*
I wish our mythology was half as interesting as this
Oh lawd they comin'
19:47
I like how the moment FromSoftware is mentioned there is a dog jumpscare.
“Thinking is for nerds” this phrase was said during a warhammer video
How in the hell did you manage to mention the death grip ability without making a death grips reference?
The first thing I frickin said
I love giants in every fantasy world
Mostly the giants that are just vibes
The best thing about the SoB is that they allow the opposing army to feel like the Survey Corps. In both the good and the bad ways. Sacrifice your hearts!
While I get the impression that you dislike them for Elf-icide, I think that covering the Deathwatch of 40k would be a relatively fun video
"They aren't Avatar of Khaine the faction just yet".
You crack me up.
1:37 yeaaaaaah totally sympathize plus fantasy tropes tend to blend together after a while
I just think there was a lot of missed potential in the "gargants" again just being giant humans. And I'm not talking just making them giant greenskins either (which i think would still make more sense). I feel there is alot you could do. Going an elemental route is an obvious choice, but even just adding cyclops, Hecatoncheires, or just really making them their own thing. Distinguishable without being related to their size.
A huge goblin would be pretty funny obviously
just 3d printed a full list of these, very excited.
Can't wait to start this army after i finish painting my kruelboyz shtinky ones.
Loved this video ❤
I honestly might grab one or two Gargants purely because of how funny their rules are. Grab a guy and throw him at an enemy unit, kill a bunch of enemies when you die by flattening them with your corpse, just fucking boot an objective marker away from the enemy. Glorious.
My people. I have found them. STOMP STOMP!!!
That's not space elves, that's space wood elves.
When you want to make the enemy experience the rumbling from attack on Titan
I'm a real poor bastard, but I support this channel in spirit.
Gotta love eating breakfast while watching a new video
My day is made better when I see a new video by u
King Brodd when his daddy died: “I’m going to wipe them out! *Every last one of them!* TATAKAE!!”
"Yeah
I could take on a giant"
"In a fight, right?"
"..."
"In a fight, right?"
I sat down to eat and thought "oh this would be a good video to watch" so thanks for that lol
We're is my elf killing bad ass? The great crusade, where is thou pelinal?
I watched this while shifting in and out of consciousness while waking up and the only part that I was awake for was 22:40. Thank you for that, I'll be mentioning this to my therapist.
Just watched the whole thing, you've cooked another great one
I wonder if there is a Son out there with a gloriously magnificent red mane and braided beard that squashes everyone to death with a giant manhole cover…? 🧐
Underwater elves: Well i guess we will just develop lungs.
they have an attack named death grip, i have to paint one black and name it MC ride and give him an agreed upon ranged "YUH" attack
Love the breakdown. I’d still love a revisit of the Gitz😅
5:25 random imperial Aquila on one front giant
An excellent birthday gift Thanks pancreas.
The power of giants would impress me. If it wasn’t for one of the key requirements of being an ogre tyrant being to be able to wrestle a giant to the ground.
That's definitely an achievement for a Tyrant, but the only requirement for the position is to kill the previous Tyrant in a ceremonial fight.
GW was really like "Oh man, this lore is fire. We have GOT to copyright it."
“CONCENTRATING FIRE POWER!” 21:25
Memories. What a busted little thing.
Love they made giants as a solo army a thing, sounds so easy to cheese in totalwar
In terms of the grand alliance of destruction the gargants have to be among my favorites.
"OY! YOOS LOOKIN' AT ME?! I'S SMAH YOOS GOOD AND TAKE YER LOOT!"
3:50 it has been a good while since a piece of lore made me stop and just
Want to scream but i was too stunned to do it.
Age of Mythology music, well chosen and fuck i love that music
Also great vid
AOM RETOLD is soon upon us sir
Fun fact that is unrelated. Part of the reason God flooded the world in Noah’s time was because giants and sorcerers had taken over mankind. The flood was supposed to kill them all, but whenever the jews from that point met wizards they didn’t like, like ones in Egypt, or fought against football players like Goliath, they would assume that god’s flood missed a spot. Out of all the people that could survive a FLOOD, tall and smart people are usually the most likely.
Can't wait for that Do or Don't Ogor Mawtribes
Oh my god, 1d4chan is actually back up. I will enjoy it while it lasts.
A few slightely biger land mines and will wall on each other without can get back at least until are already dead.
22:44 Well their loincloths *do* go down to their knees, so…
An army of giants also coincidentally has a giant price tag. Wouldn't be GW if it didn't.
The best thing you can do is play the Shadow of The Colossus soundtrack during the game.
I even played grot rebels in gorkamorka way back
19:49
The best kind of jumpscare.
Oh 1d4chan is back up, thanks for letting me know!
I have feeling that Pancreas will buy AOM retold.
you can really feel the gloranthan influence on warhams fantasy with these guys
almost as much as beastmen and broos
The cheapest army is more expensive than buying a resin 3d printer and printing them lol.
Which i will be doing, since i have a printer already
Genuinely had a Nostalgia/dopamine hit when I heard the Tartan Cruiser voice line
7:11 the subtitles: *he dislikes Kragnos and calls him a false idol, saying that giants should never worship him because OBAMA is the only being worthy of their praise*
Sons of behemat aka "WE'Z STOMP FINGZ GOOD" army or the first time games workshop though "Hey lets give the giants some love."
19:47 that scared me too, made think my phone died
smash, next question
Id love to see a gray Knights video
