@@kiwi...2980 Most definitely. It's only 8 ep out of 24, but this is one of my favorite animes already. A perfect blend of comedy, action, slice of life and detective drama.
1.) Don't watch dub 💀 2.) Demon slayers have sharp survival instincts, they won't get murdered in sleep 3.) Zenitsu waking up wouldn't make any sense since to escape the dream u gotta kill yourself in it 4.) He was wierd in the dream because the author thought it could have been funny... 5.) Inosuke had normal senses, his beast breathing 7th form made them enhanced and he was occupied and exhausted, soi think that's why. 6.)zenitsu gets his own fight, let it be animated. 7.) Yes akaza is cool These are my views on your points, you I hope you can understand what these things in the movie meant! Heave a great day :)
While I do agree there was a lot of BS in this movie, the movie accomplished what it meant to do. It portrayed the manga arc effectively. So all of these problems are present, but it’s not a movie problem. It’s a manga problem. 100% agree with the criticisms though
The manga has a problem with narrator, the rope thing was answered BY THE NARRATOR IN THAT SCENE, and since the adaptation doesn't have a narrator, they just say "i feel its a bad idea to cut that rope" and leaves as it is, and the narrator problem is IN THE ENTIRE MANGA, i got really angry by that, not only because overusing the narrator to explain things is a HUGE MISTAKE in manga, but it's also because IT'S ANNOYING AF, the manga is a fun reading but damn the narrator is a pain in the a
My theory: Any demon could stab some sleeping slayer. Enmu's biggest goal is to impress big daddy Muzan as much as possible since he wants his blood and approval. That's why he came up with such an impressive and giant plan, but since he's so excited to get blood, and he is too confident with the blood he already got from Muzan, so he overlooks the huge flaws. TLDR: Enmu is driven by emotion and want over logic and need. He is overwhelmed by his need for approval so he overlooks his flaws.
honestly i kinda wish in the movie we got to see kyojuro more... he is a heartwarming character, but in my eyes he didnt get a lot of screen time, and the whole entire arc was supposed to be about him and the four main characters.
@@mahistv I watched the movie and while akaza appeared I just learnt it had a episode format I turned back and watched the extra content- Tbh that made the experience soooooo much better as it made Rengoku so much more loveable then he already was plus who doesnt love the after credit scenes XD
Enmu's plan didn't work because of overconfidence. His main goal was getting to eat everyone on that train so he can get stronger and then report it to Muzan so he could get more blood from him and hopefully fight an uppermoon to replace them and continue working for Muzan. Listening to his plan, while it's overcomplicated, it could have worked. He had everyone at his mercy and while Rengoku was able to be alert enough to stop that girl, he was still trapped in the dream. What caused the plan's downfall was Nezuko, if Nezuko hadn't woken up they would have stayed asleep and he would have eaten them. He didn't attack them while they were asleep because he was in the middle of merging with the train, and if Tanjiro had taken longer to figure out how to wake up Enmu might have been successful. I do agree with what you said about him not having a plan B, but this rounds back to my overconfidence point, the fact he just got a large dose of blood from Muzan, that fact he was the strongest lower moon, and the fact he had never fought a hashira before this all mixed together to make a recipe for him being too confident in his abilities. And 90% of the time overconfidence can lead to stupid decisions and slip ups, which is a point Muzan said to Daki in S2. Enmu actually makes statements while he's dying about his disbelief in his failure, he literally didn't even fathom the idea of his plan failing until he was crumbling away. I do understand your statement about him not taking into account the fact there was a hashira amongst the group, but you can say that even with the hashira amongst them they wouldn't have won if he didn't wake up. Or if it was just Rengoku who managed to wake up, he wouldn't have been able to do it all by himself, because he needed the help of Zenitsu and Nezuko to take care of one half of the train, while Tanjiro and Inosuke were in charge of finding where the head was located. So in theory it was a pretty decent plan, however he failed in execution, and didn't put into thought the possible flaws in the plan, which there were a decent amount. I personally really liked this movie and didn't really notice the little flaws while watching. Although I really agree with your point in the order of events for when the characters escaped their dreams in the first half, since that really makes more sense the way you put it. But overall it didn't take away from my experience and it is still a really good movie that I love rewatching... up till the last 10 minutes in which I turn it off to avoid emotional damage. 🥲
Movies that are (almost) faithful to the manga are bound to have plot holes. But it's a lot better than filler movies that has nothing to do (or even barely) with the original plot/manga. The author may have expanded some crucial details, but it's okay even if he did not. It'd be a lot of pressure and may be unnecessary in the long run. The Mugen train arc following the movie made it a little more detailed and more appreciable so I guess overall, the movie served its purpose. Rengoku has become a beloved character in just a two-hour movie.
@@mahistv renegoku grabbed that girl to prevent her from killing him, but the manga also said that rengoku would not kill humans, so he was at a stalemate, Pls read the manga before making these types of videos, the anime is always about visuals, but sometimes leave out extra info
@vulpus_ 54 It's good to be critic to movies you watch, that's human. But it's also human for the author to fail to answer everything asked by overthinking fans. Move on
14:27 In the manga during giyuu, tanjiro and akaza's fight tanjiro has a flash back to inosuke telling him that he can sense people even if he can't see them because he can sense the harmful intentions if you don't intend of harming him he can't sense you so how the fuck did he not sense the conductor?
I love Demon Slayer, the characters, the plot, animation etc. but now that it’s been pointed out it could’ve been SO MUCH BETTER!! I also feel like Rengoku didn’t get as much screen time as he deserved. The trio only knew Rengoku for a short period of time but became really close and admired him for his skill and his attitude towards everything. Rengoku always had an amazing outlook on life and never forget his mothers words to protect others and is one of the strongest characters and we should’ve seen more of him.
I would have loved to see Zenitsu shine more in this arc Cus when he sleeps he's at his strongest. And I also feel that even if enmu asked the kids to kill them on the outside rengoku and Zenitsu would not have let it happen
@@nothingtoseehere2079 nah sleep is sleep the writer said when he sleeps his true strength comes out, Just like how S2 was when he faced daki he was sleeping all through until the fight was over, not to mention he was inside daki belt no one knows how he got out, but he was still sleeping, just like how he's sleeping in the Mugen train, he also helped nezuko while in the same sleep state, so he could have shine way more than he did in Mugen train
Yeah they fumbled Zenitsu's character by not making him the 1st to wake up or fight while sleeping. Rengoku also could've woken up otherwise him just choking the girl and doing nothing is weird nonetheless nothing is perfect in this life Demon Slayer is still dope regardless
@@mahistv like fr, Instead they made inosuke and tanjiro, Which is not bad but like zenitsu really could have had more screen time especially against enmu, Enmu even said zenitsu was fast it would have been cool to see zenitsu vs enmu Even for some moments in the movie
If the demon were intelligent, he could've shown Tanjiro a dream of himself in the exact same scenario as reality, making it nigh-impossible to know if you're dreaming or awake.
Conductor thing was actually indirectly explained in the manga in vol 20 chap 172: "The Potential of a Weakling" Spoiler In that chapter, we see a conversation between Tanjiro and Genya. Tanjiro explain to him how he was able to make a difference during their fight against UM6 because he was weak. Tengen was stronger than him, so Gyutaro's attention was focused on him so Tanjiro could couch him off guard. It's the same here. Both Tanjiro and Inosuke's attention was focused on Enmu, so some random weakling couched them off guard.
You make a valid point, but Inosuke literally dodged Gyotaro in a split second with his damn organs. There is no way a screaming Joe Schmoe can sneak up on him. Also, demon slayers are absurdly faster than normal people, for them - conductor is basically slow mo...
@@mahistv Those are completely different situations. 1) Inosuke knew that Gyutaro was still alive, so he had his guard up. Compared to some random guy that he thought poses no threat and isn't hostile towards him. 2) NO, Inosuke couldn't dodge Gyutaro's attack. Moving his organs was the last resort to save himself. He still almost died. 3) Before RLD arc there was a 4 months time skip where they got a lot stronger.
@@Yato52 you may be right on some of those things but still inosuke CLEARLY had his gaurd somewhat down as yknow. he got bri'ished. He did have to move his organs to avoid certain death for sure, BUT inosuke has had his joint dislocation, AND organ moving (im not sure about the moving organs) pretty much from the beggining i do beleive that the conductor was just kinda there for plot and they couldve easily dodged and knocked him out or somthing i mean if tanjiro can knock out two children with weapons (who had clear intention of murder) before they even realize that hes moving, he can probably knock out a simple conductor screaming and charging. Also tanjiro could not be that tired as we've seen him in longer fights such as rui and has taken less damage in this fight than he did with rui, its very clearly somthing just meant to disable tanjiro.
@@Yato52 the guy didn't say inouske dodged the attack. He said he dodged it with his organs. Meaning he had the cognitive awareness to either sense an attack coming or the in the process of the attack piercing him, shift his organs instantly
Inosuke's sense is touch, though. He certainly would notice someone sneaking up even without sound; his Seventh Form is literally called Spatial Awareness and he uses it to sense hundreds, if not thousands of meters with minute accuracy. Let's rewrite this bit, shall we? The conductor targets *Tanjiro* and Inosuke notices, so he moves him out of the way. Instead of taking the stabbing himself, both are unscathed, or at most Tanjiro has a minor wound. But hey! That means Tanjiro can go and fight Akaza. So he attempts to do it despite the warnings, but gets swatted away. A grazing fist or a shockwave, it leaves a fatal blow and now the recovery breathing is introduced. So, what is being targeted here? First we remind the audience that Inosuke is a prodigy in combat by having him show a feat of perception on screen, and then we make a tangible display of strength for the Upper Moons in addition to proving that the possible backup wouldn't help. That works because the original featured a battle of unfathomables: Akaza only fought Kyojuro, and the latter didn't get a concrete display of his power until that point (his only on screen feats were slaying a fodder demon or two and sprinting through the train, which is something but doesn't really tell the extent of his power). There's an extra given to that last point, as (spoilers ahead)... ...that makes Tanjiro and Akaza's actual fight all the more meaningful regarding how far the former's come as a demon slayer, instead of relying on statements and collateral damage to tell the story.
I guess because zenitsu’s brain wasn’t busy with a dream during his sleeping fight scenes? And enmus demon art makes people dream I guess that’s why he wasn’t fighting
@@mahistv I’ll reword it and add more detail for it to make more sense. Zenitsu sleep fighting = basically a black out/faint,and he doesn’t dream. In a sense, enmu’s bda is the perfect counter, because zenitsus brain being occupied with a dream means he can’t fight.
@@immaumaru yes but zenitsu has insane hearing, that's why he can fight while asleep but I guess the sleep state was a very deep sleep state and the dream state was meant to feel like it was real life so maybe that's why he didn't fight? And maybe when the rope got cut after a few minutes before he could start hearing in his sleep,
I'd like to say that Inosuke basically HAS a byakugan. You know how Tanjirou has super smell and Zenitsu has super hearing? Well, Inosuke has super touch, it's so sensitive that he can feel disturbances in the air and ground from places nowhere near him. He does an amplified version in the mountain with the spider family, where he focuses to get more sensitive. He could absolutely sense that guy all the way from inside the train, up to the top and into the fight with ease.
When i first watched the movie, i was actually hyped for it because i knew that they were going to fight against a lower moon 1 but at the end of it i was really disappointed with his character. Akaza coming at the end of the movie was really a clutch. I feel like they could have made Enmu a better villain maybe if he had more cool abilites with his dream power thingy and some good lore. If you want a great movie then you should definitely make a good main villain. But if Enmu was smart and actually gave people a dream where the people would think that they are not dreaming then he would probably won but yeah, i agree 100% with this video i'm also wondering how you are so underrated.
I was also lost on why tf he got stabbed when they can juke demons but not some depressed dude. Then they probably would’ve cut three’s head off. But yeah
I'm just taking a guess but I'd say you don't cut the rope because of the kids being in there subconscious if the cut the rope without them getting out themselves it'd leave them trapped in there or hurt the person who's subconscious inside, the only reason why nezuko could do it was because demon powers got them in there safely and nezuko used her demon powers to get them back out without hurting anyone... if that even makes sense :)
YO I totally agree with the zenitsu part. My first time watching the movie when i saw zenitsu put to sleep i was thinking “lmao this demon fked up! Zenitsu is gonna kick ass!” But then nothing happens hence my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined
The point of using children as assassins' against demon slayers were to prevent their instinct to be trigger. They have special ability like smelling blood. Rengoku literally reacted because he fell the danger. If any demon try to go near them, they will instantly wake up.
Sure. Why did they not toss their swords out the window? They can clearly touch them and throwing objects has nothing to do with killing. Also, kids did have quite a bit of bloodlust in them - they went with the intention to kill.
Let’s not forget about the wasted potential in nezuko, THE WHOLE INFULENCE OF THE MC BEING ALIVE AND HER LITTERALLY GAINING ALL HER POWER FROM SLEEP AND THE MOST SHE DOES IS WAKE TANJIRO UP AND GET THE ZENITSU X NEZUKO SHIP GOING. 🗿
You raise a lot of great points in a witty way! I didn't like that some of the footage that made Rengoku so loveable was left out of the movie. They just threw him on the train without the bento box vendor stuff that made you TRULY love Rengoku. Or maybe I just don't remember it? Akaza WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. That scene is one of my ringtones! Keep up the amazing content! 😍
Oh the bento box vender stuff wasn't in the movie originally?? I watched the arc on Hulu the other day which had it broken into episodes, but I assumed it was the exact same thing just with added intro/outro.
I think zenitsu subconscious is pitch black because of his tentacles to pass out asleep. Like in reference to the fact that most his strength and all that happens in the dark of his mind. Not sure about the hedge clippers though
It's funny how when I naturally watch a movie I would have never thought of these criticisms but it's hilarious because it all makes sense. A couple other things that I thought about since watching this that bugged me was 1st plot hole: Enmu sent children to dive into the slayer dreams AFTER they fall into a "DEEP sleep" because they can sense demons / hostility and react right? --- So first --- Why couldn't Tanjiro wake ANYONE up once Nezuko burned the ropes? (Which as you pointed out, why couldn't he cut the ropes or something?). The kids were able to wake up after everyone kicked them out so why couldn't the slayers? 2nd: Same plot hole but later in the movie: Why can't Tanjiro naturally wake himself up when Enmu yells or uses his eyes to make him sleep? He's put to sleep quick while physically fighting so he should be barely asleep and wake up easily. 3rd Zenitsu fail: Why was Zenitsu not immediately badass like he usually is since he's passed out? 4th: Why did Enmu make the cliché as f*** mistake of basically telling him his weakness? "I've become one with the traaaaaiiiin". Why not let him be freaked out like HEY! I beheaded him, Why tf isn't he dying??? Granted Tanjiro may have freaked out at first and needed Rengoku to calm him and give him instructions --- but once he's level headed, where is ANYONES head / neck? On the top END of the body. So if he's now the friggin' train then his head's obviously either the locomotive or the caboose so sever the next railcar from it. Lololol I haven't seen that mistake since I played Sly Cooper and the Thevious Racoonus. Unless you count the head joke from infinity war to endgame. (Which was AS Thanos was snapping and then swiftly pulls himself in portal so idk if I count that.) OOOORRR I guess Entertainment district spoiler: Friggin' Gyutaro spells out his weakness to Tengen and the others. "OH? SO YOU FIGURED IT OUT EH? WE HAVE TO BOTH BE DECAPTIATED TOGETHER FOR IT TO KILL US". Why spell it out for the demon slayers versus letting most of them be mindf***ed until Tengen can tell them they have to try to time their kills together. Or screw with the slayers and say they have to kill them in a different way and have them attempt it in vain? Such a cliché and idiotic villain move of "This is how you kill me but you'll NEVER be able to do it." Being cocky is one thing but that's plain stupid as a villain.
I honestly hated that Kyojuro died. To me, it really didn't make sense to have HIM of all the hashira die. This movie honestly should've been like the entertainment district arc where, instead of him dying, he lived to train Tanjiro. If anyone was going to die, it could've been Tengen (I mean, hell, he ended up retiring anyway and also has nothing to really teach Tanjiro). Kyojuro had a world of knowledge he could've passed down to Tanjiro and even could've helped him learn sun breathing (maybe). He also could've helped the other hashira accept Nezuko and possibly train her as well since she has fire abilities. The fight with Daki would've been a lot better and his and Nexuso' power-up's would've made a lot more sense. Such wasted potential.
Nah , I'm glad he died cz if he didn't die, the anime wouldn't go well... yk comeon, he was badly injured and obv he gonna die. Atleast the anime was realistic lol. It would be cringe and cliche if rengoku didn't die. Plus u seem like a rengoku fan, even if he was Alive, the nezuko potential still won't make sense lol Spoiler Literally almost tall hashiras die in the end of the manga
😅😅I actually enjoyed your video while getting frustrated how they're losing characters ,,, Our trio manages to fight strong demons with their tactics and others ones are just dummy holding sword, waiting to cut demon neck 💀💀These become more on coming Hashiras involvement(except tengen , mitsuri and muichiro from far ) on later on manga they only show how solid life they had while others are just snacks for muzan demons, nothing matter if you're not in kagaya-sama loved ones list🤷🤷🤷
Yeah like most shownen anime, the anime takes place in an unlikely timeline. A time line where the heroes win because the villain s where being cocky, arrogant, or downright incompetent there. They usually have many chances to dispatch the heroes but always just wait. I find it embarrassing that Enmu couldn’t devoured a single person in the train.
I think the reason many villains make the “humans/anyone is weak and I am strong” speech is to show how hypocritical they are due to many cases of them using cheap tricks and being boot lickers to gain power. So it will be satisfying when the hero beats them proving them wrong and they are the weak one. It is really annoying and overly used. I feel we need more villains who use their smarts and resources than just being meathead who believes in only their strength/powers.
Doesnt inosuke sense fighting spirit according to the manga?? He shouldve known where the conductor and was where he was looking way before he even screamed?
That's always been the problem with demon slayer. It has great visuals, soundtrack and all that. But it lacks in the department of plot and characters. Some are absolute clique, most of them have no relevance at all besides that one epic scene they get and often they're one-trick ponys (best example Zenitsu). The reason Akaza is such a fan favourite is because he's the only decently written character and it's sad.
I am excited to see kokoshibo idk why I brought it up but it would be cool to see the power or yoiichi's younger against the two a hashira sent to get him
everyone don't get mad, I was mad when I first say this '" BRO STFU I CAN TOOOOTALY DISPROVE EEEEVERYTHING YOU SAY" Bro calm down, its constructive criticism
Great video. It's hard to find a video about anime that isn't just "I don't like it." You actually gave reasons, and put things into perspective. I have just started watching anime, and this is the first movie that I've seen that is a sequeal/spinoff/season 2 of an anime. It really liked the movie but it was a weird experience. felt like I binged season 2, not really a movie. I'm not sure what their trying to accomplish, why introduce a villain in the last 20 minutes, then in the 7-episode series version, he comes in the middle of an episode, and then leaves in the middle of the next one. What kind of a way is that to structure a show, let alone a movie? Still having fun exploring a new genre from a forin country. Any sudjestions on what I should watch after Demon Slayer?
Thank you for your appreciation and sorry for a late reply. If you are looking for a good "intro" anime, I suggest Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood for shonen genre, Parasyte: The Maxim for sci-fi-ish, My Hero Academia for shonen. Attack on Titan for dark fantasy. And if you really want to dive into some high end stuff, Hunter X Hunter is the best anime in my opinion, but I wouldn't recommend it for new viewers.
One thing I really give DS the animation is gorgeous. Like episode 1 i s3 the infinity castle. Can watch it over and over and just embrace the animation.
I feel like the conductor would have been more threatening if instead of a knife, he was just forced to go in and attempt to grapple Tanjiro or Inosuke. Once grappled, it would make them a much easier target for Enmu's tentacles. At the very least, this would have provided a distraction to Tanjiro/Inosuke, which I feel the conductor was _supposed_ to be, narratively. Lacking a weapon would also have provided more substance for someone like Inosuke would have ignored him until too late.
Yeah, the kids could've just killed them physically. But this was a train, and it was going to another station, where the dead bodies would've been discovered (presumably, I don't think that the train was ever intended to reach its destination at all) but killing them in the dream world doesn't tie that Lower Moon's Minions to the crime, if they just died in their sleep, they'd just suspect poison or something.
It's for new fans and the hardcore that's the ultimate point of Mugen Train movie. If you don't understand all of it like the rope read the manga and it's quite faithful to it as well just small points that aren't explained. I can't agree with your whole criticism over the film. Thankfully it made bank so most haters don't have much to wield on fans.
Slight spoilers (but not really) Ok look so I have some things too add On the visuals so zenitsu’s subconscious Would be a empty abandoned run down town and the person in his subconscious could hear distant thunder Consistently and when the guy gets to the core then he looks up and sees a dragon made of lightning And that’s the thing defending zenitsu’s core So boom zenitsu’s subconscious And for inouske’s it could be(if taken seriously) a misty mountainous forest where you could hear distant singing of a woman And the thing defending the core could be a giant boar human creature And without context there is no spoilers so that’s good
@@mahistv well his dream would be the same since it makes perfect sense but what I described would make more sense for his subconscious the a black empty void with a starved zenitsu with shears in it
What I mainly don’t like is that Zenitsu could’ve been seen using so much more than just a ThunderClap against some random disgusting frog demon. He could’ve done some shit when he was in the sleep spell. Cause he was asleep in the sleep spell.
Also the reason why tanjiro isn't cutting the rope is indeed left to Interpretation but its quite obvious bad shit could happen most likely to the Kid entering rengoku's dream world or both of them.
I see you, but I'd love something as little as - "it's to risky to cut this rope as their mind is still inside Rengokus" or something other than just hunch
@@mahistv I'll get help for my Demon Slayer fanfiction. Plus your videos are awesome. I've seen all your videos and you make really great points. Like yesterday only, I saw your video on MHA quirks. This video in a nutshell. Train chan:trash, stupid as-,etc Akaza:big brain, consideret, etc Also tanjiro could have gotten a blood sample from the arms that Akaza had ripped of
You forget that inosuke FEELS his surroundings as far as sensing a demon in a direction from very far away with concentration so up in your face I imagine isn’t very hard
@@mahistv he went to protect inosuke in a jump in moment I doubt they cared about the conductor compared to the giant demon trying to kill them so it caught tanjiro off gaurs someone would do that inosuke did notice just to late because I imagine he thought the same thing
The biggest issue I have with the anime adaptation of the manga is that it cuts out important exposition, like the rope. If you cut the rope, they'll be stuck in their sleep forever. (why Enmu never asked the kids to do that instead of stab their cores or whatever, I'll never understand.) edit: and since the kids fall asleep when they do that, just have an extra one to cut the ropes, trapping the kids, and the slayers eternally in their good dreams
I might be wrong, but I think Enmu's abilities (when fighting tanjiro solo with his fake body) are to the extent of only putting a person to sleep...but when he turns into train, why doesnt he just flip the entire train over a mountain or something since he can regen faster than humans.
Massive plot hole, when I was watching it I was like yo, they’re passed out, end them….but no they had to do some silly thing like having to destroy their core in a dream state likes it’s a video game.
Rengoku choking the girl is suppose to be his strong survival instinct. It does change things it defines his character. Not him having fast instinct .like lmao it’s not bc he’s an hashira. Take it out and you wouldn’t know enough about rengoku.. it just establishes that rengokus experience with his father made him feel like he had to fight harder through life to do what he loves to do . and ZENITSU DOES HAVE A LIGHTING BADASS MOMENT IN THE SUBCONSCIOUS SEQUENCE WHEN HE THREATENS THE KID. Omg everything went in one ear and out the other 🤦🏻♀️ tho I do agree with Enmu he is a very typical “evil” villain nothing complex going on
so idk why they didnt say this in the movie but the needle is made out of enmus teeth and the corps uniform doesnt defend from attacks from a twelve kizuki
Ok hear me out, cause I can't believe I'm defending enmu right now. Yes, I agree with you that the movie lacks so many things and that enmu should have used a better strategy or plan but my argument here is that enmu can't control their dreams. Yes he can control whether they get a pleasant dream or a nightmare but he doesn't know anything personal about his victims. For example he doesn't know tanjiro at all so he just hypnotized or put a spell on him to make him have nightmares and for tanjiro, his family blaming him for their death is his biggest nightmare but enmu doesn't know what he is dreaming. Unless enmu enters his victims mindscape, he doesn't know what they are dreaming. All he knows is it's either their biggest dream or their worst nightmare. Still loved the video hope you don't take this as hate, I'm just really into studying psychology and planning on taking that course
I disagree. Enmu does have the information because he specifically says: "didn't tailor this dream to your liking" (something close to that). On top of that, Tanjiro says that his family will never blame him, making it nigh on impossible to have a nightmare like that on his own, plus, it further proves that Enmu had the knowledge of what happened, but failed to implement it well because he doesn't know how humans work (on the count of him being a demon)
The production team for the Mugen Train too some liberties if I recall correctly, plus I don't blame, as shit is good, I say it could have been better!
i def agree in the most part,i wanna say i damn near dropped the movie hell even the anime cause zenitsu wasnt doing shit while he waa asleep cause its his thing that he cam do shit while asleep so it pissed me off
@@mahistv ended up finding out it was Re: Zero. Thanks for helping me find that. The whole anime was a masterpiece from beginning to end, I can’t wait to read what comes next.
Enmus plan was bad but he had a reason. If enmu wasn’t careful and was deafeated and escaped muzan would’ve killed him so he had to be extra careful to make sure he killed them. So his plan wasn’t good but not as bad as people say
@@mahistvagreed, I do think he should have taken his time to think of something more deceiving. Like preparing the rails to crash, and then putting them to sleep. Then they would die, and he would eat them, unless Rengoku is able to wake up and think fast enough to save them
Well… the rengoku argument kinda fell apart in how he handled the little girl in his sleep… yeah you can try stabbing him in the eye but at the moment of aggression from her in the dream realm and the guy choked her out in the real world. He sniffed the threat out in his sleep he ain’t conscious but he’s still deadly, the demon himself could give it a try with less blowback but who’s to say he’ll survive the tale either.
Ok sure. Toss their sword out the window. Tie both of their hands. If his senses trigger at the moment of strike, you can come up with a dozen ways to hinder his fighting ability without killing him!
my god i thought this vid would be WAYYYY more popular as its a bonafide explanation to, what went good, what went bad, what couldve been changed for the better, and how they couldve gone about some things differently, i completely agree with this man as he really did give his best work into this, i praise you mahis (not in the weird way) and thats a good job on this coming from a rengoku fan.
for some reason videos about demon slayer, even ones with criticisms towards it manage to make me think more highly of the movie I gave this a 4/10 just because of so much wasted potential in the story, I have to say I didn't appreciate akaza as much before the marketing in this vid but from his arrival on the movie was quite good I suppose the biggest reason a video like this makes it work better than the movie itself is that there was more focus on the good as a lot of enmu's bs was cut
Mahis i disagree, Zenitsu gets his time to shine and develop as a character during his fight with Kaigaku, his senior demon slayer that turned into a demon, there's not much you could've done with sleeping zenitsu in mugen train, if he we're to start fighting while asleep then what would he do? Probably go to kill enmu, and most likely succeed all alone cause of how strong his technique is... That +the akaza fight would be the whole movie, that'd be beyond boring mate, not to mention if you'd make zenitsu fight while awake during this, then yeah it would be interesting development, but that'd ruin part of the story in the future arcs and leave plot holes.
I understand, But it still feels like if Zenitsu was just there to show off his ability and not for it to grow (or him to grow as a character). They did him well in Yoshiwara and I don't see a reason why they wouldn't have made him a bit more important in that fight with Enmu. Let Inosuke clap tentacles while Zeny and Tanjiro are dealing with the head. Overall, those are MY wants and it doesn't diminish the movie itself.

While I do agree there was a lot of BS in this movie, the movie accomplished what it meant to do. It portrayed the manga arc effectively. So all of these problems are present, but it’s not a movie problem. It’s a manga problem. 100% agree with the criticisms though
The movie was good, even as a standalone piece in my opinion
That actually sounds pretty reasonable!
Muzan only cares for results. You saw how Muzan reacted when Akaza reported in and failed in killings by Tanjiro and his friends.
According to the Manga, *"If you cut the rope with the Nichirin Blade, those who aren't dreaming will never regain conciseness for eternity"*
I get that, but does Tanjiro also read DS manga? Cause how the hell does he know that?

honestly i kinda wish in the movie we got to see kyojuro more... he is a heartwarming character, but in my eyes he didnt get a lot of screen time, and the whole entire arc was supposed to be about him and the four main characters.
I think that's why we had an entire episode of him later
@@mahistv I watched the movie and while akaza appeared I just learnt it had a episode format I turned back and watched the extra content-
Tbh that made the experience soooooo much better as it made Rengoku so much more loveable then he already was plus who doesnt love the after credit scenes XD
The movie was indeed good. And overconfidence is overused in my opinion...
I agreed with both, loved the movie but a plan b would give a really big plus to the villain, and resistance and power of the protas

I love Demon Slayer, the characters, the plot, animation etc. but now that it’s been pointed out it could’ve been SO MUCH BETTER!! The trio only knew Rengoku for a short period of time but became really close and admired him for his skill and his attitude towards everything. Rengoku always had an amazing outlook on life and never forget his mothers words to protect others and is one of the strongest characters and we should’ve seen more of him.
I think that's the reason they made an episode highlighting him specifically.
I would have loved to see Zenitsu shine more in this arc
Cus when he sleeps he's at his strongest.
And I also feel that even if enmu asked the kids to kill them on the outside rengoku and Zenitsu would not have let it happen

Conductor thing was actually indirectly explained in the manga in vol 20 chap 172: "The Potential of a Weakling"
Spoiler
In that chapter, we see a conversation between Tanjiro and Genya.
And enmus demon art makes people dream
I guess that’s why he wasn’t fighting
Hmmm, that actually makes sense, I haven't thought of that
@@mahistv I’ll reword it and add more detail for it to make more sense.
Zenitsu sleep fighting = basically a black out/faint,and he doesn’t dream.
In a sense, enmu’s bda is the perfect counter, because zenitsus brain being occupied with a dream means he can’t fight.
@@immaumaru When he attack in his regular blackout. He actually attack with hearing, if he was having a dream. I think it’ll all be instincts
That is the problem if the audience has to compensate to make sense of it means bad writing.

Thank you dude! We are getting there for sure!
I was also lost on why tf he got stabbed when they can juke demons but not some depressed dude. Then they probably would’ve cut three’s head off. But yeah
Yep, they didn't think that one through)
I'm just taking a guess but I'd say you don't cut the rope because of the kids being in there subconscious if the cut the rope without them getting out themselves it'd leave them trapped in there or hurt the person who's subconscious inside, the only reason why nezuko could do it was because demon powers got them in there safely and nezuko used her demon powers to get them back out without hurting anyone...
if that even makes sense :)
I can see that! And it would have been nice to hear that thought process for a few seconds, instead of "I have a hunch"

(Which was AS Thanos was snapping and then swiftly pulls himself in portal so idk if I count that.) OOOORRR I guess Entertainment district spoiler:
Friggin' Gyutaro spells out his weakness to Tengen and the others.
Yes dude, I agree. Especially with 6th moon, that was pathetic. Plot armor was working harder than Walmart on black Friday.

He literally could have taken their swords and thrown them off the train!

That is a very good point! I haven't thought about it like that

Or threw away their swords? That way they don't emit "the bloodlust" and can do whatever
Imagine if Enmu tried to look for information in their memories while they’re sleep !😂
Or do some Inception stuff and make Tanjiro fight fake Enmu while asleep
"tanjiro and mr haven't blinked since last hashira meeting" lol
But that's true, the only time he closed his eyes was... well, you know... he was asleep)
"is your brain on power saving mode?" I'm using this next time
I write those down)
It's for new fans and the hardcore that's the ultimate point of Mugen Train movie. If you don't understand all of it like the rope read the manga and it's quite faithful to it as well just small points that aren't explained. I can't agree with your whole criticism over the film. Thankfully it made bank so most haters don't have much to wield on fans.
And you don't need to, I appreciate your opinion and take it to consideration!
Enmu : Uses more braincells
Story : The END
Sounds about right!
" who haven't blanked since last hashira meeting" got me dead 7:32
hehe) Glad you enjoy my humor!
Slight spoilers (but not really)
Ok look so I have some things too add
On the visuals
so zenitsu’s subconscious Would be a empty abandoned run down town and the person in his subconscious could hear distant thunder
Consistently and when the guy gets to the core then he looks up and sees a dragon made of lightning
And that’s the thing defending zenitsu’s core
So boom zenitsu’s subconscious
And for inouske’s it could be(if taken seriously) a misty mountainous forest where you could hear distant singing of a woman
And the thing defending the core could be a giant boar human creature
And without context there is no spoilers so that’s good
Hmm, I see...
@@mahistv well his dream would be the same since it makes perfect sense but what I described would make more sense for his subconscious the a black empty void with a starved zenitsu with shears in it
Enmu: Once asleep, even demon slayers are no more than a baby
Zenitsu:Are you sure about that🤨?
Lol. Too bad Zenitsu was online for like 10 seconds during the fight.
8:26 That is the Voice actor?!
Yeah. English Dub
I would love it if you made a rewrite of Demon Slayer like Dygoknight does about Naruto. Please bro.
That's so much work though...
@@mahistv I'll get help for my Demon Slayer fanfiction. Plus your videos are awesome. I've seen all your videos and you make really great points. Like yesterday only, I saw your video on MHA quirks.
If you would do a rewrite for DS, it'll really get famous. Plus it'll help me when I'll write a Boboiboy x Demon Slayer fanfic.
@@mahistv You could make new arcs or improve old arcs. No need for much detailed video, just what new you would add and what changes would you introduce.
I'm thinking of the moment when you write a Smart Muzan vs Smart DS Corps. It'll be so thrilling as if watching a mind battle along with physical battles.
This video in a nutshell.
Train chan:trash,stupid as-,etc
Akaza:big brain,consideret,etc
Also tanjiro could have gotten a blood sample from the arms that Akaza had ripped of
Cmon dude, they had more important things to warry about)
@@mahistv I guess you got a point
Oh well.. this aged like wine.. the plot armor in next seaseon...
I can't wait to review S3 (haven't started it yet)
You forget that inosuke FEELS his surroundings as far as sensing a demon in a direction from very far away with concentration so up in your face I imagine isn’t very hard
Yeah, that conductor scene was total BS, you mean to tell me even Tanjiro couldn't have disarmed a mere human when he broke Genyas arm but holding it?
@@mahistv he went to protect inosuke in a jump in moment I doubt they cared about the conductor compared to the giant demon trying to kill them so it caught tanjiro off gaurs someone would do that inosuke did notice just to late because I imagine he thought the same thing
The biggest issue I have with the anime adaptation of the manga is that it cuts out important exposition, like the rope. If you cut the rope, they'll be stuck in their sleep forever. (why Enmu never asked the kids to do that instead of stab their cores or whatever, I'll never understand.)
edit: and since the kids fall asleep when they do that, just have an extra one to cut the ropes, trapping the kids, and the slayers eternally in their good dreams
I might be wrong, but I think Enmu's abilities (when fighting tanjiro solo with his fake body) are to the extent of only putting a person to sleep...but when he turns into train, why doesnt he just flip the entire train over a mountain or something since he can regen faster than humans.
For someone so adept at overcomplicating things, that's too easy of a solution)
Would be cool to have sophisticated logical villains and story 😅
There are very few of those unfortunately...
What irked me is why didn't akaza just turn him into a demon he did not need permission
Actually yes, last time I checked, all you needed is some of that demon juice in you!
I forgot they lose their memories could've been a respect thing though
I still enjoyed watching it. Okay there you go lol. Well fuck money, I like the movie. It could have been better tho. Theres more detail of course
The movie was quite enjoyable indeed
Schrodingers cat isnt just for comedic relief
Who be the kitty? I don't get it
I watched Mugen train for an hour waiting for it to get good before I gave up.
Man, you gave up just before it got good
Massive plot hole, when I was watching it I was like yo, they’re passed out, end them….but no they had to do some silly thing like having to destroy their core in a dream state likes it’s a video game.
All they had to do is take their swords and thrown them out the window. Problem solved
Omg everything went in one ear and out the other 🤦🏻♀️ tho I do agree with Enmu he is a very typical “evil” villain nothing complex going on
I can see your point about Rengoku, but I wanted Zenitsu to take Inosuke's place in this arc, instead of one or two flashy moments.
so idk why they didnt say this in the movie but the needle is made out of enmus teeth and the corps uniform doesnt defend from attacks from a twelve kizuki
Fair enough, I can get behind that!
I wonder how you feel about the arc now that there's a fully animated season?
Well, it's the same, except we got more Rengoku
On top of that, Tanjiro says that his family will never blame him, making it nigh on impossible to have a nightmare like that on his own, plus, it further proves that Enmu had the knowledge of what happened, but failed to implement it well because he doesn't know how humans work (on the count of him being a demon)
if rengoku dieing cant make you cry idk what can make you
Meruem's death - about 1-2 tears. I want to eat your pancreas - about 3 tears. I'm a heartless bastard, except for music, good music makes me tear up)
I don't even know him only for like 50 minutes?
Why does everyone always have to look at something and go, "yeah I liked it but I'm gonna pick apart what went wrong because I'm a pretentious prick"?
Cause I like doing that! as simple as that
My brother I’m binge watching this shot is to good
Sorry I don't have that much to binge yet :(
Bro 13k now!!!
Yeah dude! Let's go
they also have guns in the anime/manga so when they are sleeping you can just shoot them if you are scared to go close
Yeah, make more guns and use suppressive fire so that Slayers can get close and finish them off
I think the movie would be more interesting if rengoku turned into a demon and later is the anime the trio has to fight him
I'd be interesting if a "good" character was turned demon. *SPOILER* we have seen bad guys go demon... but that ain't that fun
dont blame the anime for the story blame the author theyre job is to animate it not change the story
The production team for the Mugen Train too some liberties if I recall correctly, plus I don't blame, as shit is good, I say it could have been better!
@@mahistv if enmu wasint a dumbass he wouldve won he waited for tanjiro to show up instead of devouring everyone including rengoku on the train
i def agree in the most part,i wanna say i damn near dropped the movie hell even the anime cause zenitsu wasnt doing shit while he waa asleep cause its his thing that he cam do shit while asleep so it pissed me off
Yes, I don't understand why they didn't give him a bigger role
What anime did that “you killed her” gaslight come from?
Can you give me a time-stamp in a separate comment? I can't find it
@@mahistv12:36 his voice actor gives off some real Andy Morris, Cicero vibes but done in a horrific fashion.
@@mahistv ended up finding out it was Re: Zero. Thanks for helping me find that. The whole anime was a masterpiece from beginning to end, I can’t wait to read what comes next.
If I was rengoku I'd take akazas deal what does he have to lose except for his respect and dignity
Yeah, just two most important things)
13:15 Help I can't 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was very passionate there)
i think the reason why enmu keeps making tanjiro sleep is to make him insane as he has to kill himself over and over again
Insanity - is doing the same thing, over and over, expecting a different result (C) some guy with a mohawk
you want everything better YOU CANT DEAL WITH IT
What's wrong with wanting to improve something?
Enmus plan was bad but he had a reason. If enmu wasn’t careful and was deafeated and escaped muzan would’ve killed him so he had to be extra careful to make sure he killed them. So his plan wasn’t good but not as bad as people say
It had too many moving parts. He should have slept on it for a few days and go over it again.
If his senses trigger at the moment of strike, you can come up with a dozen ways to hinder his fighting ability without killing him!
u are actually my favorite youtuber now dawg u are funny asf!!! please do anime videos like these !!
Thank you! I will do my best and hope you like it!
Rem dies? MAN, I haven't even watched RE:Zero yet😢.
SPOILER! Everybody dies, multiple times)
its better your way but its not the movies fault and it doesnt exacly fall in a movie catagory its an ANIME followed by manga or its just how i see it
I didn't mean to suggest the movie was bad by any means, it could have been a bit better with some tweaks!
my god i thought this vid would be WAYYYY more popular as its a bonafide explanation to, what went good, what went bad, what couldve been changed for the better, and how they couldve gone about some things differently, i completely agree with this man as he really did give his best work into this, i praise you mahis (not in the weird way) and thats a good job on this coming from a rengoku fan.
Thank you, that means a lot! Also, my videos are getting out there, so it's great)
@@mahistv glad you enjoyed reading my comment, this has made my day! 😄
for some reason videos about demon slayer, even ones with criticisms towards it manage to make me think more highly of the movie
I gave this a 4/10 just because of so much wasted potential in the story, I have to say I didn't appreciate akaza as much before the marketing in this vid but from his arrival on the movie was quite good
I suppose the biggest reason a video like this makes it work better than the movie itself is that there was more focus on the good as a lot of enmu's bs was cut
Enmus BS was the worst part of the movie for me
Definitely
How do they manage to waste a villain operating with dreams so hard? The concept isn't maybe all too rare but it has huge potential
