James are hands down the best live band I've seen. The closest I've ever come to a religious experience. Tim looks so happy too, can't wait for their next tour.
Everyone who has had a mental, emotional or depressive episode needs to live with this song and know you are not alone. An anthem for mind health. Always know there are always there are people who feel the same and you can sit down with someomeone.
*LYRICS* 💙 *SIT DOWN* 💙 I'll sing myself to sleep A song from the darkest hour Secrets I can't keep Inside of the day Swing from high to deep Extremes of sweet and sour Hope that God exists I hope I pray Drawn by the undertow My life is out of control I believe this wave will bear my weight So let it flow Oh, sit down (X3) Sit down next to me Sit down, down, down, down, down In sympathy Now I'm relieved to hear That you've been to some far out places It's hard to carry on When you feel all alone Now I've swung back down again It's worse than it was before If I hadn't seen such riches I could live with being poor Oh, sit down (3X) Sit down next to me Sit down, down, down, down, down In sympathy Those who feel the breath of sadness Sit down next to me Those who find they're touched by madness Sit down next to me Those who find themselves ridiculous Sit down next to me In love, in fear, in hate, in tears Down Down Oh, sit down (3X) Sit down next to me Sit down, down, down, down, down In sympathy Down 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
I agree! James are one of my favourite bands of all time but this performance sounds tired and emotionless. I'm suprised they didn't rework it with jules on piano into a more slower tempo acoustic version, that would have highlighted the lyrics more. Tim really sounds like he can't be bothered, shame really!
Keep looping | E | E | A | B | chords in a count of 4. It's a really simple 3 chord song,, but the B chord is tricky for beginners. Remember to put some dynamics into the song. Best of luck!
Jesus, that guy changed a lot. Seen them performance ,early 90s....From lot of hair to completely bald. " LONG LIVE,GETTING OLD" Wish we all, stayed young...😔
I would love to hear that bass a bit higher in the mix! Pure pros though built it perfectly. Who's writing "pop songs" like this now? Sam Fender?...Paulo?
I appreciate Tim probably had hair lot issues which led to his current image but going full on Gary Glitter is a bit much Still the 3rd best song of all time this, incredible song
I dont know why but Tim looks and sounds like he really can't be arsed singing this song for the millionth time. I mean I'm really suprised they didn't try to rework it in more of a slower acoustic format with jules on piano. It just sounds like a tired run-through of the original version, and the band went out of sync during the guitar solo after the first chorus, bit of shame, doesn't stop James from being one of my top 10 bands of all time though, but hey ho. 🤷♂️
My friends say I sing like him but I dance like Andy Bell from Erasure. I'm still not sure if that's a criticism or a compliment. I don't mind, either way.
wooo! yes!! ta! jools!! er i was listening to simon cowell saying.. this is show...business while putting through a boyband of ten year old 's , well its supposed to be art first !!thats the important thing..so if you would like an alternative to the greedy mainstream click on my picture then the link to my official site and listen to all my songs for free and buy if you like...and maybe youll like what im saying....er ta! enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Always found it ironic that such an underrated bands biggest hit is one of their weakest songs. Tomorrow, Laid and Sometimes to name but a few are far better IMO .
Depressing. What makes it okay (even great) when a pop star ages is when those years bring insight and greater craft and the Music grows stronger with Time. Watching Tim perform this old hit (especially when the hit relied on the fresh face singing it, back then), with a mediocre singing voice, is ... depressing. The Breeders were pretty much just as bad. I suppose Jesus Jones are next...? Bring new skills to the spotlight or stay home, mates.
Oh, ooops, what was I thinking? This decrepit former pop star singing his mediocre (derivative even then) hit from the '90s is *inspiring.* Fuck the Truth... let's all grin and clap at _everything_ .
Most under rated Band ever - they're just wonderful
i dont think their under rated, their just not so popular these days.
They had their time. but i still repeat all their hits until now haha
Qino Rigano they r huge in Manchester and have three generations of followers.
Dont help when they botched their compilation album but putting the songs out of order
Under rated?... They were marvelous!
Just as Carter the unstoppable Sexmachine
One of the best pop songs ever!
Generations of fans who know every word to every song the best band in the world FACT ❤️JAMES 💙
The best band EVER!!! Totally amazing song! Goosebumbs over and over again on repeat!!
2022 and still loving this classic... James forever!
James are hands down the best live band I've seen. The closest I've ever come to a religious experience. Tim looks so happy too, can't wait for their next tour.
Amazing live band I agree.
Agree 💙
the drummers no good mam
Don't yo mean "Sit Down"?
Brillant song will live on forever this song.
Beautiful. I 🇯🇵 felt so close to their songs when I was listening to them in my 20's and really wanted to fly to UK and sit down next to them ✨
Life affirming. Anthemic. Iconic. Best band in the world.

I'll sing myself to sleep
A song from the darkest hour
Secrets I can't keep
Inside of the day
Swing from high to deep
Extremes of sweet and sour
Hope that God exists
I hope I pray
Drawn by the undertow
My life is out of control
I believe this wave will bear my weight
So let it flow
Oh, sit down (X3)
Sit down next to me
Sit down, down, down, down, down
In sympathy
Now I'm relieved to hear
That you've been to some far out places
It's hard to carry on
When you feel all alone
Now I've swung back down again
It's worse than it was before
If I hadn't seen such riches
I could live with being poor
Oh, sit down (3X)
Sit down next to me
Sit down, down, down, down, down
In sympathy
Those who feel the breath of sadness
Sit down next to me
Those who find they're touched by madness
Sit down next to me
Those who find themselves ridiculous
Sit down next to me
In love, in fear, in hate, in tears
Down
Down
Oh, sit down (3X)
Sit down next to me
Sit down, down, down, down, down
In sympathy
Down

Loved this long time ago and still love it now
The music of my youth
Great band
Oh my God... I going to cry 😭 beautiful. I must learn how play this song!
Keep looping | E | E | A | B | chords in a count of 4. It's a really simple 3 chord song,, but the B chord is tricky for beginners. Remember to put some dynamics into the song. Best of luck!

God save James!
Lyrics , lyrics, lyrics
You can’t write songs like this unless you’ve been ‘there’
Best!
Como se pifiaron al comienzo del tema loco , hasta mas grandes les pasa !
Classic! Do Wish they played Laid though, The good old American Pie days.
Manchester G-Mex 1990 ...
❤❤❤
I would love to hear that bass a bit higher in the mix! Pure pros though built it perfectly. Who's writing "pop songs" like this now? Sam Fender?...Paulo?
lack lust the apollo remix was great this play by numbers
Don't mind me...Came here just to see how many Salah comments there were.
the Egyptian King
Sound quality here is poor sadly, such a great song too.
I appreciate Tim probably had hair lot issues which led to his current image but going full on Gary Glitter is a bit much
Still the 3rd best song of all time this, incredible song
😍
I just want Flash Gordon to sort Ming out.
That drum intro 🤦♂️
Emperor Ming

Might just have found another that'd like to Sit Dooown....
Wonder what Gavan Wheelan is doing? Would love to know
My friends say I sing like him but I dance like Andy Bell from Erasure.
I'm still not sure if that's a criticism or a compliment.
I don't mind, either way.
Kind of looks like Walt from Breaking Bad.
Who’s the brunette backing singer on the left?
Madchester
MO SALAH MO SALAH RUNNING DOWN THE WING
Mo Salah Mo Salah his arms in a sling.
TheAmysjoy2823 comments that didn’t age well... 😂
Slow, but they are old. This was from the 90s. Backing singers look like their grandkids
Same pace as the original .
Mo Salah,Mo Salah,Mo Salah,Running down the wing,Salaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaa,The Egyptian king.
Plastic 🤮
Tim Booth never recovered up from his season in Gotham City... but his voice is somewhere back...
EEEEEPPPPIIIIIICCCC...
Are you trying to say… Energy Performance Certificate!
who's the hot backing singer on the left?
Been working through the versions today and not going to make friends this is poor. Lot of people on stage for a small sound as well.
So easy for this great band with a few original members to punch out a classic. No nerves by Tim.
Feeling utterly depressed after sitting through that
David Stewart chin up Dave

Wonderful band, not this performance sadly, tiredness is a bad person, just take a break of all ...., See you tomorrow x
Sorry. But without Larry on guitar it’s never the same. Always sounds shit when it kicks in with that guitar.
Great song. Not the best performance of it though. Not very tight on this one
Always found it ironic that such an underrated bands biggest hit is one of their weakest songs. Tomorrow, Laid and Sometimes to name but a few are far better IMO .
The band would love to play Sometimes as their 'oldie' on Later. Maybe one day.
Great song but this is a shocking performance unfortunately
Terrible performance in all aspects.

Your comment is depressing. Stop being a shit.
Oh, ooops, what was I thinking? This decrepit former pop star singing his mediocre (derivative even then) hit from the '90s is *inspiring.* Fuck the Truth... let's all grin and clap at _everything_ .
Your take on the truth is different to other people. Hold the front fucking page. No need to be such a weeping bellend.
Calm down, Sassy. Nobody's going to take your tragic band away from you! Laugh
Come back when you've see him continue to wipe the floor with most vocalists live.
Yawnnnnn. 😴
Try listening at 1.25 speed!
Too short
