Honestly this is my favorite tv perfomance ever. Great muscians all around, no notes missed, obviously no backing track and so much classic energy from iggy
Thus we witness the greatest single performance by any band or artist on Jools Holland since the show began. I think the moment he shouted "come on cocksuckers!" clinched it.......
The word gets thrown about a lot these days, but this right here is what you call a legend. Just look at his charisma, his showmanship. The way everybody in that room knows who he is, he glows, he radiates. He rocks harder than most bands these days. Iggy pop take a bow son.
Has anyone today got that primeval raw, uninhibited ability to immerse themself in sound and create seminal pieces of work, such as this. Truly phenomenal work.
This is like one of greatest jools holland show highlights for me ever in no strict order so there's Iggy, blondie doing Maria, the the uncertain smile, ian from the bunnymen with huey from fun lovin crims doing they is all the time in the world ALL class.
I'd stopped watching Later as it was becoming a little tired. Iggy was on, so thought I'd have a peek. Probably raised my blood pressure certainly raised my heart rate. Glad I did, superb. Love you Iggy, liking Josh maybe maybe one day he'll be a rock god too.
That was fecking awesome!! I think Matt is one of the best drummers of his generation and josh is a total all round amazing musician. Iggy... off his face? Lol fantastic
I was 17 years old when this issue came out .. I was in a home, and all this song was on the radio, something happened to you .. you naturally went wild .., not aggressive .. and we all started jumping on the tables and dancing..lovely time!
Give them time. Whole new styles gotta be developed and destroyed for new legends to be created. Once the last of the old legends fall there will be a vacuum that will force new ones to be born. If you don't give people raw powerful music they get all restless. Just wait you'll see, new legends will be born whether they like it or not.
tiene más energía y actitud que más o menos unos tres manes de 20 años juntos 🎶🎸💪🎤dicen que el rock es eternamente joven y no envejece, o lo hace muy lentamente
I was debating wether to buy an Epiphone SG bass copy in black....and this has convinced me that yes, its the right thing to do. Someone tell my missus.
The start, famous guys as we know. Behaving themselves. Enter Mr. Pop. Thoughts going through his mind, fuck off. Boys and girls of future generations looking at this performance. It is performed by a Mr Iggy Pop, he is over 70 in this video, and still has a incredible, fuck everything law abiding and rules. Let that sink in for one minute. A man, 70 plus, surrounded by guys who know EXACTLY what he achieved in his life, and was good friends with a certain David Bowie. Impressed? I still am in total awe of the man, a vertible force of nature. In his golden years and still kicking ass.
Honestly this is my favorite tv perfomance ever. Great muscians all around, no notes missed, obviously no backing track and so much classic energy from iggy
It is great. To be fair, they missed a good few notes, but who cares.
Lust for life..perfect statement and song performance…
@@ΠαναγιωτηςΠαναγιωτιδης-δ1δ And much more that performance... iGGIG POP IS SO NICE:::::::::
Plus, the spitting and the curse word followed by obscene gesture. Its all there.
Step one, employ Queens of the Stone Age as your backing band. Step two, win.
Josh Homme on the guitar man, Matt Helders on drums... WHAT A COMBO!!
Absolutely! Love this performance.
And Dean Fertita from the QOTSA

I really don't like that bass tone tbh. He's a cool dude, but it sounds like he's plugged into an acoustic DI
Matt Sweeney on bass
Thus we witness the greatest single performance by any band or artist on Jools Holland since the show began. I think the moment he shouted "come on cocksuckers!" clinched it.......
Possibly... KT Tunstall was also very impressive!

Has anyone today got that primeval raw, uninhibited ability to immerse themself in sound and create seminal pieces of work, such as this. Truly phenomenal work.
There might be. But we won't hear them.
I just searched for the best rock performance, and youtube delivered for once
Iggy has more charisma in his little finger than most singers these days.
Amen
he manages to make deformity kinda cool - bless him
Simply one word. ‘WOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!’
You really need to be at the top of your game to deliver those backing vocals from 3:53 to 4:20!! Magnificent performance in itself from them two lads
That’s Josh Homme and Troy Van Leeuwen from Queens of the Stone Age!
Awesome talent, this stuff never gets old
That Later with Jools studio was owned. Best performance I've seen on his show. A bold but accurate statement.
This is like one of greatest jools holland show highlights for me ever in no strict order so there's Iggy, blondie doing Maria, the the uncertain smile, ian from the bunnymen with huey from fun lovin crims doing they is all the time in the world ALL class.
Wish this would never end ! Old enough to have bought the album when it first came out in '77 (I think). Superb then, and superb today.
bang on! it was 77!
JH- Has turned on the world with the late show, too many bands to name. HUGE RESPECT to the Maestro himself and guests.........
This playlist, the best medicine against a bad 1st "work"day after New-year. Or any other workday. Thanks a million.
Iconic performance.
Absolutely love Iggy Pop, outlived so many...what a phenomenon x

I love that moment at 3:25. It's pure respect and appreciation from artist to artist.
