Sadly Matt doesn't sing the long note this powerfully anymore ... he often goes falsetto for half of it these days. Still sounds great but I prefer it like he sings it in this performance.
+Nick Valensi Ik it kinda sucks but he's still an amazing singer! In LA and he tried singing the "i need to love" part, but he ran out of breath fast. I believe after that, he transitioned to falsettos.
+Martin Hernandez Yes... Though I like that part even in falsetto, it's cool! But I'd prefer maybe the first scream in chest voice and the second one in falsetto, like he used to do before doing both in falsetto
Trust me, I’ve heard every live version of this song. This is the best. Never hits the two A2 notes with chest voice before or after this so cleanly. Genius.
First time hearing this song: meh it's okay Second time hearing this song: it's kind of growing on me Third time: this song is really cool! Fourth time: oh what the hell this song is like hearing heaven.
Haha Exactly my feelings Didn't even listen to it through Until I just said F It Then he hit the high interlude and I was thinking Ffffffffffff yeah!!! True sick slick smooth talent
It blows my mind every time how genuinely awesome Muse sounds live. The playing and singing is spot on, and they must have one hell of a sound crew to get them sounding perfect every single fucking time.
I'm not a big fan of the electronic sound at the beginning of the song, but I love how it progresses into this pure and beautiful harmony. Well done guys!
Saw them on their first US tour. They would do local radio and invite fans to come play poker because they were bored on the road. The played to about 150 people and they blew our minds. Unbelievable.
This is why i love Muse, they've been in constant evolution since their inception. Instead of sticking to what most bands will do ie; sticking to the same formula, they constantly challenge themselves, and those that listen to their music's ideals of what a band should sound like. Kudos to Muse.
@@AC-qr1uk I think the key change is also a stylistic choice of there's. Matt never belts the high chest note in city of delusion and yet it is the exact same note within this video (he goes into falsetto). So I think some of those choices are stylistic
@@AC-qr1uk But those choices also make sense. For one the songs sound great (even better) in a lower register. And two they help him preserve his voice so his voice isn't irreparably damaged and helps him for the rest of his live concert durations
I'm definitively not a Muse fan but I must admit they're absolutely flawless on every aspect I can think of. On harmonic, groove, technique... if a band has this vibrant approach live, well, this band is simply perfect.
This performance was the first time I heard MUSE. I immediately loved em. Great song and performance. They also played Panic Station here. MUSE are my favourite band and Im always listening to them. They're just AWESOME.
I've seen a ton of bands live and Muse is right up there in the top three for live performances. Hearing and seeing them perform all their crazy sounds and vocals live and going above and beyond what you hear in the songs as you know them on their albums is absolutely why you should go and see bands live. Everything sharpened and polished and awesome and knowing that everything you hear they can actually do and perform. Why they have been my favourite band for nearly 20 years.
The first time I had ever heard of this band was watching them live on this Jools Holland show...and I was like WHO ARE THESE GUYS!?! Wow...Been a fan ever since!
I have to disagree with you on this. I personally find the Roundhouse version better: ruclips.net/video/11dci57gIFQ/видео.htmlm38s The way Matt and Chris's vocals combine to create an even better sound just sounds amazing to me. This is just my opinion
Anyone who has ever been in a love-hate relationship involving bi-polar disorder can understand this pain. Most everyone is worthy of love, and most everyone has so much love to offer. Forgive people who have hurt you, and ask forgiveness of the people you have hurt. Thanks, Man.
Love this song so much.Saw Matt sing it live again last week in Dublin.Got a great reception from the crowd. My fifth time seeing them play live and they just get better and better.Totally out did themselves.Even if Drones isn't your favourite album its worth catching the live tour.Amazing show.

It’s all about singing it lots of times, night after night on a tour. The key change will make it slightly more bearable on Matt’s voice. If you watch a version on the tour, he actually goes into more falsetto in the last part compared to here as its much less strain on his vocal chords.
Superb what he's doing there. Built the emotion in the song perfectly, you feel like you are with him on every note and when he gets to 3:15 its just like the "freedom" part of the song compared to the short sharp constraints at the start.
i not know any other band which play that much good LIVE!!! PERFECT!!! Matt voice just hipnotize me all the time :) They are just genious!!!! POLAND WAIT FOR MUSE!!!
OMFG I've been trying to sing this song and now i finally realized that in lives they play the song half tone down.... That explains why the "I need to love" note is almost impossible to sing/scream (like he does here)...
The ''I need to love'' part is so amazing live wow...
It's I need your love :)
+Steve Mutch Are you sure? I also sometime thought I heard 'your' in the beginning, but I'm pretty sure now it's 'to'
It's " I need to love"
Sadly Matt doesn't sing the long note this powerfully anymore ... he often goes falsetto for half of it these days. Still sounds great but I prefer it like he sings it in this performance.
Its an extremely hard note to hold - he falsetto'd it in the Live at Rome Olympic Stadium performance as well, and I'm okay with that
This is proof that Matt Bellamy's voice should be considered an instrument.

This is 100% clean but the on in proshot live is my favorite
This is the most naked sound of theirs i have ever heard. Even with this they are fucking rocking the world.
DearBear right
He smashed it! Some lead singers cant replicate what they do in the studio. This guy is 100% the real deal!
