Your videos have made me a solid skeet shooter. I now enjoy shooting sporting clays more than ever. Before the video training 7-9 hits and no doubles. Now I avg 18-22 hits including doubles. What screws me up is switching guns. I love shooting mt 687 O/U Beretta, Benelli SBE2 and my cheapo Weatherby SA-08 deluxe that just fits me so good and I shoot the best. All of my guns have been fiited for me. PS: everything I learned has been getting passed on to my teenage daughter. She now enjoys going with Dad shooting clays with her Montefeltro 20g. Thanks
Thanks Chris. The first time I shot skeet(I normally shoot sporting clays) my first 3 rounds were 16/25, 21/25, 24/25. I didn't take the bonus shot on the last....or whatever they call it. Who say's you can't shoot skeet with a 32 inch O/U !! Many thanks with the coaching tips....especially the feet position tips.
started using your techiques 3 weeks ago since the scores are up had my first skeet straight then two days ago had my second straight going for 50 but messed up on station 5 hi house
Is there a place or resource for new shooters out there? I am used to pistol and rifle steel challenge etc. Want to hit the local shotgun range and try this sort of thing out, but watching some of these videos, there is a lot of terminology I haven't heard so it sounds complicated to me.
Really good video, thank you! Looking forward to shooting skeet again ( tried out a clinic 6 months ago and loved it). I am disappointed by one thing, though: The price of getting INTO the sport. I dislike that a quality autoloader tends to start at $1,000 =/
Any advice for someone about to start Skeet for the first time, using a cylinder bore, pump Action Mossberg with a 24 inch Slug barrel. And yes, am in UK.
Get a different barrel? By slug barrel I assume you mean it's rifled. Rifling will spin your shot so it's even wider than an already wide cylinder bore. Other than that I'd say work the pump smooth rather than fast on pairs, and if you do end up using that barrel get on the targets early rather than late
I never shot skeet but I always thought of it as cheating when you have your gun aimed when the skeet is launched. I always thought of it as practice for hunting where the shooter should be at a ready but not aiming. I think most shooters would not be able to take aim quick enough so that is why they need to cheat and aim before the launch....just my personal view, but to each their own..
It's not cheating when that's how the rules in America are set up. Up until 1952, we used to shoot low-mount with variable release times (up to 3 second delays). Olympic Skeet shoots low-gun (bottom of heel at hip level), so in that game it WOULD be cheating to pre-mount the gun. Watch it sometime - crazy fast gun-mounts. I would suggest starting pre-mounted, then go low-mount once you got consistent high scores.
Не пойму это спортинг что ли? Да даже в спортинге со вкладки не стреляет никто, блин есть же правила в конце концов. Так то конечно фигли там стрелять, если вложился уже.
@@willfly111so if you don't pre mount .. what do you actually do? You mount as the bird starts to get to the break point ? I'd like to be able to do that
I've been shooting skeet for about 30 years. Your videos are very good.

Same. went from 10 to 21 hits in one outing. helps watching a leftie for me.
@EverythingisFire Not at all! You can treat an over/under as if it were a single barrel gun. I hope this helps you!

I enjoy you instructions. Why did you change the Station 2 thru 6 has private only. How does a person see these.
@outdoorsman1325
Skeet choke or improved cylinder if you don't have them.
Wow this is a forrest city gun club, just shot there yesterday and got first overall, love that place
bettabomb1 oh yea I see it now what division are you?
Why not shoot the low house first, where the pattern is larger, then shoot the high house second?
Because the rules of Skeet require it.
Good luck trying to get to the 1st bird. Will be on the ground or out of range of the shot by then.

Hi please make videos for olympic skeet as well.
Question regarding over unders: Do you have to move the barrel up a bit when shooting the 2nd shot out of the bottom barrel?
No

Most American Skeet shooters shoot pre-mounted.

Skeeting not cheating

Here is the U.S, al lot of us don't pre-mount our guns, which makes this not very useful information.
Pointless to comment then really 👍
