I must say that this is by far the best instructional series on how to shoot skeet! Went to the skeet range yesterday and obeyed the tipps provided in this series. I was able to improve my shooting a lot. Went from an average 17 to a 22! Thanks so much!!! Cheers GS83
This is one of the best instructional videos of any sport I have seen on You-tube. Clear, concise, well filmed. (disclaimer - I have not shot a clay target since about 1985!)
Chris, I watched all your skeet station videos last year and scored my personal best 23 out of 25 in the next tournament I was in. I am re-watching the videos and hoping for a perfect round of skeet this year. Thanks for the great instruction. -Rick
This by far the best series on skeet. I would love to see it shot where the camera person is standing in a position that actually shows the hold points.
I shot my first straight this past winter league and I give credit to your great advice. I keep coming back to watch your videos to embed better habbits. Thanks!
This is good info. I have had trouble in earlier situations of running out of lead by placing my feet incorrectly. This can help that i will try this out.
this is awesome advice for anyone looking to improve their skeet game! great advice sir! also didn't know you guys across the pond shoot doubles on station #4
In his book, “Breaking Clays”, page 128; he uses three stacks, and measures lead from the middle stack to either side, depending on which stations 1-3, 4-6
Let me ask you....you have 2 stacks which is 4 feet from each other and in center you have center peg. How do you identifay the lead as you change a station? for example, if cay is comming from left and you want to brake it at the central peg, your lead would be your centar peg (distance between left target and sentar peg)? or a distance betwee left and right stack would be your lead? we are tolking about from left to right targets.
Slap shoot high 2, sustained lead every other bird. Worked for me, as I placed 2nd in the U.S. Intercollegiate championships. I was AA trap and had only shot skeet for 2 months before the championships. I had a shoot off with a junior Olympic champ and choked (I should have won).
Clay Coach Online Does that club allow women to take part in events other than working the concession stand? The club I belonged to for all my life finally had to let women take part in events other than working the concession stand. Since that day a dark cloud has fallen on the club and the sport.
Regarding high 2, not always the hold point. Oftentimes, it is the look point. Don't look too close in and be sure to look in flight path of target. And as he suggests, stand at back of the pad but not where he stands. Stand on back right which is furthest away from the high house. Why would you stand back left of pad which puts you closer to the high house? On low 2 single, the video shows him breaking it at or slightly BEFORE the center stake. Why break it there when you break it nowhere close to there on the pair? Note where he breaks the low house on the pair...well past the center stake. You want to break the single at the same place you will break it on the pair.
well first of all you wanna make sure its really nice and warm... so the skeet that does come out, you know what, maybe you should shake it first like a coconut tree... then the skeet will shoot out depending on how hard you worked prior...
Just saw a great tip Chris!! Been shooting for decades. Can’t thank you enough!!

Just discovered these videos from Chris Batha. What a great guy he is and he explains everything so well. He really can do the business too.

have been shooting skeet for 40 years and still learned a few things. great videos.
Open mind. Cool. I haven't shot in nearly 40 years, so I am learning again.

Two things you need to see in life, the bead and the lead, but you can't look at them. Amazing.
Excellent training videos.. thank you very much.
Great videos - the perfect introduction to shooting the game of skeet.
Excellence in instruction......Wonderfully done.....
"Simply shoot it". Love it!
Best instructor ever!

very good instructional video for skeet

Awesome, this helps me realize that often I try too hard and kill precious time chasing around the bird.

I'm unclear about this also. Center peg to stack on the side opposite the house would be my guess.
Thanks for all the info.

Is this at Forrest City Gun Club in Savannah?
I've been shooting a lot of trap for the past year. I am dying to try skeet!
Are you shooting 7/8oz shells? They seem to have very little perceived recoil.
Very good eye. Yes it is! It's a great place to shoot and the service is wonderful.

I feel like a complete dufus when I watch Chris shoot........😁
How do you get the gun into your shoulder so quickly I really struggle with this
Slow down......Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.....Simples!

anyone know what kind of gun he's using ?
Krieghoff K-80
Judging by his hat I’d say a K-80.
35 years later, I still run 50s and 100s. SLAP SHOOT HIGH 2.
Pointing to the center swinging back to the hold point is just teaching you to stop twice- Follow thru is most important never teach yourself to stop

WOW……really ?
gun is not suppose to be mounted before the bird comes out. it changes everything. do ur research guys.
Yes it is. If not you won't have enough time
Pre mounted gun is fine in English or NSSA skeet !
I have no idea what he was talking about.
/7
no. he is just shooting a $30,000 shotgun.
like "Left 4 dead"
Hunter skeeting at ping 30 and lerp 0.00 xD
anyone?
Thank you. Nothing learned and a waste of time.
Why do you have to be so ungracious when you are clearly so perfect!
