Specs and Biases:
6'3", 180-90 lbs, size 11.5 boot, 23.5" stance. +18 -6 angles (usually.)
Generally riding as fast and hard as possible in natural terrain. Big, long, high speed turns. Powder, chunder, groomers, and natural airs. If a board is really surfy, I can be persuaded to slow down and spend some time slashing around. Not spending much time in the park.

Nice mini review! Have you ridden the Mosquito? What do you think the relative strengths and weaknesses are between that and the Mellow?
I haven’t. The mosquito is a tad too small for me. Looks like it would be pretty similar to the Mellow but with a higher end build.
Cool to see some reviews! Have you spent anytime on a stranda board?
They are on the list but I have not yet. It's tough sometimes to spend the extra coin to bring something in from Europe but lots of stuff to try, Amplid, Korua, Stranda... so many boards!
How similarly does this ride to the Scout? (If you’ve ridden both). One a clear winner over the other?
Sorry haven't been on the Scout. But the Mellow is awesome!
How does the new design with the blunted nose compare to the old pointy-nose design in terms of flex, handling in pow, carving, etc.
Good question. I haven’t noticed any functional difference at all. And I personally think the blunt one looks way better. :)
Maybe if nidecker made more sizes and wide sizes they would sell more!
I hear you there. I think it just comes down to what sells most, but a lot of brands leave the big footed riders hanging.
How do you compare this to Dancehaul?
The Dancehaul is softer and more playful. The Mellow isn’t super aggressive, but it’s more aggressive than the name would suggest.
Hey great review! My specs are almost exaclty the same as yours. I'm trying to decide b/w the 155 and 160. What do you think? How well does the 155 float in pow? Thanks
The 155 does well for me but in more than say 4-6 inches of snow, I wanted more board. Where do you ride?
Utah powder mostly: Snowbird, Brighton, Pow Mow. How does the 160 do in the trees? My dilemma is always float vs turning ease.@@Drift-Products
Also considering the Yes Hybrid (is that one behind you?) and K2 Excavator if you've ridden either@@Drift-Products
I’ve owned the hybrid but not the excavator. The 160 Hybrid might be a nice go-between the 155 mellow and the 160 mellow. I felt like it was a touch small more me but it’s a good one for sure.
