Fun fact - Actually Cadillacs and Dinosaurs was HUGELY popular in poor countries like mine (Bulgaria), where official arcade cabinets where unaccesable and expensive, so arcade operators had to use bootleg PCB boards. In a lot of countries this game was called simply "Mustapha". The game was insanely popular to the point, that when someone sees an arcade cabinet, even if the game is different, he wouldn't call it an arcade cabinet, but just "Mustapha" :D
Excellent, technical beat-em-up with deep fighting mechanics. One of my all-time faves. I like playing as Nick Fury, better. I revisit this game alot on my PSP via CPS1 emulation.

Have you tried Armored Warriors on CPS2? It has great Capcom music, visuals, story, game-mechanics, & 3-player gameplay. It runs great on a PSP via emulation.
I love Capcom's arcade beat em ups! Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and Alien vs. Predator are probably my favorites. Special mention to Armored Warriors, Battle Circuit, Dungeons and Dragons: Shadow over Mystara, Captain Commando, Punisher, and well geez... pretty much every CPS2 beat em up made! Thank goodness for Capcom beat em ups!
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs is the greatest beat 'em up ever. I find it funny when americans say Turtles in Time or Street of Rage are the best beat 'em up. They probably didn't play Cadillacs and Dinosaurs at the time.
I’m 35 years old and found out only a couple of years ago that there was a cartoon about this game (I lived outside of the USA). Man, the 90’s were good.
This game is hugely popular here in Brazil. If you see one or more arcade machines anywhere there is a big chance it is Cadillacs & Dinosaurs. It's a pity this game is such a licensing nightmare to be rereleased anywhere. One of the best Beat em Ups ever, better than even Alien vs Predator.
I absolutely love beat 'em up games and Cadillacs and Dinoaurs is one of my all time favorites, I still play it until this day whenever I remember it from time to time. Personally, I loved the tv show as a kid as well and this explains why it never continued, I think it was a really good show for the time and I don't know why everyone knows TMNT or Captain Planet, yet very few people I know remember this gem, though I was really young and I don't even remember the plot, I just know I loved it when it aired and I think I will download it after watching this video and watch the whole season. heard the home release never happened, because they could never license the Cadillac name, they could have just put the original comic game though, but I think they were not willing to invest in the game if it just didn't share the same name with the popular arcade release. I was going to suggest that you cover this game so am really looking forward to watching the video. It was quite a popular arcade game in Egypt in the 90s, i think a lot of it had to do with fact that there was a character called Mustafa, i remember my friends would always argue over who would get to pick him!

This game is well known on our country in morrocco we called it mustapha i remembered when i saw it on arcade back in 95 my older brother told that it was based on saturday morning cartoon aired on cable channel , and i hated my self for not seeing the cartoon.
I remember hating the cartoon so much! I never truly watched it except for a scene here or there. But it wasn't as amazing to me as other things that were in that same time slot. I never knew there was an arcade, though.

It looks like the only thing cadillac about this car is the old style emblem on the front and maybe the headlights and grille. You can see no emissions coming from the tail pipe, and steam coming from the engine mods on the front fender side of the car.

Just about everyone above the age of 20 who has lived in a city at some point has played it, and it's known to most as 'Mustapha' after arguably the strongest playable character in the game. The biggest reason for this is the fact that here, arcades became a thing for the first time back in '94, and this was the first (and for a while, only) side-scrolling beat-em-up we got to play. Titles like Captain Commando and Streets of Rage came along later, but this was and a quarter of a century later still is the most widely played (and loved) video game in the country.

To me, Capcom was winning me over as my favorite gaming company with gameplay and visuals! ( Sad what happend to them years later...)They also did a fantastic job with Dungeons and Dragons & Aliens vs Predator! ( Hey, could you do a review on these franchises too?)
Phantom 2040 also used the environmental collapse trope as an independent cartoon released around the same time. Along with Exosquad, Aeon Flux, The Maxx, and maybe Highlander Animated series, these were among the most memorable independant cartoons of the 1990s. (Outside of obvious mainstream cartoons of the 90s such as Batman the Animated Series and X-Men.)
Where I grew up, this game was the premier arcade experience. I can't think about that era without picturing this game and its crazy vivid colors. Most arcades had it but the machines were always packed. I had to go out early so I could play a few coins before the big kids showed up! Everyone played as Mustapha, because of his leg attacks. This game was awesome. Although I remember seeing a movie theater having it in its arcade room, I didn't play it until much later. One of the most overlooked beat-em-up games that Capcom ever did. I never watched the show, but I was familiar with it. I you like checking it out, even though I'm sure it probably wouldn't hold up now. Hope we get a video on The Punisher now.

Stagecoaches & Dinosaurs could've worked. It likely would've had a more Western-feel, then.
I'm pretty sure the fuel source is modded to be clean. It's probably just the shell of a caddy over something more modern.
In the serie, they use dinosaurs feces as fuel for their cadllacs.

Around 2005-2009, before smartphone games, Metal slug, this, captain commando ruled the gaming scene in my place.
